Chapter 15: [Eye Meridian Refining And Nourishing Potion]
_____
"Haha! Very good! That's settled! I'll examine you both first," Kureha said with a satisfied smile. She found herself liking this straightforward kid.
Without wasting any time, she began a detailed examination of Katsumi and Kaori. It took her less than ten minutes to complete.
When she finished, she looked at the two of them in surprise.
"The situation is better than I expected! It's clear you've been making excellent progress. At this rate, you'll recover within the next half a month!"
She turned to Katsumi and asked curiously, "Kid, what methods have you been using to treat yourselves? This isn't the result of ordinary medical techniques. You must have been practicing an exceptional health-preserving secret technique!"
Before Katsumi could respond, Kureha waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it! I won't pry."
She continued, "In any case, your condition is much better than I anticipated. I'll prescribe two additional formulas to accelerate your recovery."
"With my prescriptions and the methods you're already using, I estimate that you, Katsumi, will fully recover within a month."
Then, looking at Kaori, Kuleha added, "As for you, with my methods combined with Katsumi's, you can replenish the essence of your body in just ten days. However..."
Her tone turned serious as she said, "The essence of your soul is a different matter. Even with a specialized medicine I can prepare for soul restoration, it will take at least six months to a year for a full recovery."
She paused before adding, "By that time, your right eye should recover with other supplementary methods."
At this point, Kaori's horrified expression didn't escape her notice. Ignoring it, Kureha continued, "Is the blindness in your right eye closely related to the depletion of your life and soul essence? It's best not to use that method again—it's shortening your lifespan!"
She sighed before pointing out, "In addition, your left eye and the surrounding meridians are severely damaged. Your vision must be significantly impaired."
"Although you've been using Katsumi's methods recently to restore some vitality to your left eye, it's far from sufficient. I'll prescribe you a formula to warm and strengthen your eyes and the meridians around them. You'll need to take it long-term."
"Once the eyeball and its surrounding meridians are sufficiently strengthened and won't sustain further damage, you can stop the medication."
Kureha was keenly aware that it Kaori likely had an eye-related bloodline ability. However, she suspected this bloodline ability was incomplete—possibly due to the dilution of the bloodline over generations.
As a result, activating this power would cause damage to the eyeballs and the surrounding meridians.
The formula she intended to provide was a targeted strengthening treatment. It wasn't the ideal solution, but it would work for now.
The best approach would be to strengthen and purify the bloodline itself, addressing the root of the problem. However, achieving this would require rare and difficult-to-obtain materials.
She decided to leave that task to Katsumi after he had mastered her medical techniques.
Kureha was confident that once Katsumi absorbed 80% of her medical knowledge, solving such problems would be well within his capabilities.
Based on his rapid recovery, she could already see that Katsumi's medical skills were exceptional.
As for the inherent drawbacks of Chakra, Kureha had also noticed them.
However, she didn't bring them up.
In her view, as long as one maintained proper nutrition, ate well, replenished vitality, and avoided excessive extraction of cellular energy—thus preventing abnormal cell death and regeneration—Chakra usage wouldn't be an issue.
And in this world, nutrition and vitality were the least of anyone's concerns.
"You can even do this? Thank you so much, Ms. Kureha!"
Kaori, unaware of what Kureha was thinking, was overjoyed upon hearing that there was a solution to Mangekyō Sharingan's vision deterioration. She hurriedly expressed her gratitude.
At the same time, a thought filled her with excitement: "If I have this prescription to strengthen my eyeballs and the meridians around my eyes, could it completely solve the Mangekyō's deterioration? Could it even allow my Mangekyō to evolve further and reach the level of Uchiha Madara's Eternal Mangekyō?"
Yes, Kaori was well aware of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan's existence.
After all, she had lived through the Uchiha era.
Although she had been very young at the time, as a descendant of one of the Uchiha elders, she had learned many of the clan's secrets.
However, after Uchiha Madara left Konoha, he took with him a large number of ancient texts, ninjutsu scrolls, and other valuable documents. This had left many younger clan members, and even some older ones, unaware of numerous clan secrets.
"It's no big deal!" Kureha said, waving her hand nonchalantly. She walked to the side, quickly jotting down the formulas for Katsumi and Kaori's treatment, as well as the prescription for warming and restoring the eye meridians and eyeballs.
Handing the prescriptions to Katsumi, she said, "Here you go! The materials can all be bought on Drum Island, so I won't prepare them for you."
"It'll take me a few days to prepare the nutritional potion, the body-strengthening potion, and the soul-repairing medicine for your mother."
"As for the longevity medicine formula, I have it ready now. I'll give it to you right away."
She gestured for Katsumi to follow her. "Come with me. While we're at it, I'll show you my medical books. You can access them in the future when needed."
"Follow me!"
Kureha turned and headed toward a room at the back.
Katsumi quickly followed her.
They soon entered a large room, one side of which was lined with bookshelves overflowing with medical texts.
Kureha walked further inside, activated a hidden mechanism, and retrieved a treasure chest. She opened it, took out a piece of paper, and handed it to Katsumi.
"This is the formula for the longevity medicine. Memorize it and return the paper to me. I'm too lazy to write another copy, and this ensures you won't lose it."
She added with a smirk, "Given your soul and mental strength, you should be able to memorize everything you see at a glance, right?"
Her inspection earlier had revealed a lot about Katsumi.
For instance, his soul strength and mental resilience were far beyond ordinary. She had also noticed that both Katsumi and his mother possessed three times the number of cells as a typical person, as well as unusual traits in their eyes and brains.
However, Kureha, a person of integrity and principle, chose not to delve further without their permission. She had no intention of studying their secrets unless they allowed it.
Still, her judgment was clear: with three times the cellular capacity of normal humans, Katsumi and his mother were naturally gifted. Their potential for body strengthening and Armament Haki mastery was exceptional.
If they worked hard and maintained proper nutrition, achieving the level of a general or even an emperor would be well within their reach.
"It seems you've noticed a lot during your inspection," Katsumi remarked knowingly, catching the implications of Kureha's words. He neither confirmed nor denied anything further.
Taking the paper, he glanced at it briefly, effortlessly committing its contents to memory.
He then returned the paper to Kureha with a calm expression.
"Haha!" Kureha chuckled in response.
Kureha locked the paper back into the treasure chest, sealed the mechanism, and laughed cheerfully. "Well, I saw it myself, so you can't blame me for being curious!"
She then offered a piece of advice, her tone becoming serious. "With three times the number of cells as an ordinary person, your potential for body strengthening and Armament Haki is immense. Your future achievements in these areas are bound to be extraordinary!"
"But you'd best keep this to yourself. If word gets out, it could easily attract the attention of people with ulterior motives."
"Of course," she added with a smirk, "if you become invincible in the future, feel free to ignore my warning!"
She paused briefly before continuing, her tone turning slightly somber. "There was once a race called the Lunarian Clan, known as the God Clan, famed for their powerful fire abilities and extraordinary survival skills."
"But because of their talents, they were targeted by the World Government and almost completely wiped out."
"It's said that the last known survivor now serves under Kaido, the Emperor of the New World."
Hearing Kureha's warning, Katsumi's expression turned serious. He nodded solemnly. "I understand. Thank you, Ms. Kureha, for the reminder. I'll make sure to be cautious."
In truth, as his body recovered, he had already begun to notice the advantages brought by his triple cell structure.
The effects were even more apparent in his mother's recovery.
