Suddenly, a loud BING! echoes in my mind, startling me.

As I shake off the disorientation, I realize this is my chance to rewrite my story. Growing up in Kinston, North Carolina, opportunities were few and far between. Football became my only outlet. I wasn't the best player, but I had just enough talent to earn a wide receiver scholarship to Coastal Carolina University.
Yet, things didn't pan out. I've been a benchwarmer for two years, never given a real chance to prove myself. Back then, my lack of discipline in both football and academics sealed my fate. I barely attended classes, lost focus, and eventually ended up working at Walmart. That was my life until now.
But this time, things will be different.
It's July 1st, and official summer practice don't begin until August 1st. Since I'm not on anyone's radar, I wasn't even invited to informal practices. That's fine. I'll use this entire month to train like a man possessed. If I want to become a starter, make it to the NFL, and win a Super Bowl, I need to work harder than I ever have before.
No one knows who I am right now. I'm just a 2-star recruit from high school with no reputation. But I'll change that. Every scrimmage, every game—real or practice—is an opportunity to gain experience and improve. The tougher the opponent, the more EXP I'll earn.
My parents have been scraping together what little they have to support me, renting an apartment so I don't have to deal with a roommate. It's not much, but it's enough for now. The rest is up to me.
Starting today, I will train relentlessly. By the time August rolls around, I'll be ready to seize any opportunity that comes my way. My path to greatness begins now.
