I got a new beach house. Well I didn't, my parents bought it. I hate it. We used to live in such a nice gated community and I had so many friends but of course nothing in my life has to go right. Our old place was in the US, now we moved to some English town. I couldn't even tell you what this place is called because I wasn't bothered to remember it.
"Oliver! You've been in your room for a day now! Go outside!" my dad shouted through the house. I didn't respond. He was right though, I should get some fresh air. I grabbed my pack of cigarettes from under my pillow and went outside for a walk. I couldn't tell you why my parents decided to move into a beach house in the middle of December, there's no point, the sand is all wet, the waves are loud as hell and it was freezing. However, I still decided to walk along the beach.
I was wearing a hoodie over an old t-shirt, but stupidly I forgot to change out my shorts. My legs were getting progressively more numb the further I walked along this miserable beach.
"I forgot to take my meds" I thought to myself as I continued to walk. I looked out into the violent ocean but couldn't see much. It was covered in fog. I could maybe work out a boat about half a mile away but I couldn't really tell. I stood still for a moment staring at the possible boat, everything fell silent. Suddenly, a foghorn noise blasted my ears causing me to fall to the ground. It couldn't have been the boat in the distance because it was way too loud and also I heard it behind me. So I turned around quickly on the floor to see but nothing was there.
"Must be because I forgot my meds" I thought to myself as I pulled myself back up. I kept on walking but as my vision focused I saw someone through the fog in front of me. It looked like a girl. I thought nothing of it and walked past her, but just when I passed her I felt something yank my hood back.
It was the girl's hand. My heart started to race. I got up quickly and removed her hand.
"What the hell is your problem?" I asked in panic.
"I want you" the mysterious girl responded. I couldn't think of a response, it was like the cat got my tongue. She then started to speak again. "Can you be my friend?"
"Sure" I said with uncertainly.
"Please don't be creeped out, I haven't spoken to anyone in ages" she explained.
"Yeah it's fine, so what's your name?" I asked
"Mckenzie, Mckenzie Davies" she responded "What's yours?"
"Oliver" I answered.
"Sorry for being weird a moment ago, i'm just not used to talking to people" Mckenzie said.
"Why's that?" I asked.
She responded "Because i'm a ghost".
