POV Zuko
This damn thing doesn't work!!" I yelled frustrated at the black compass. No matter where I was, the damn thing never pointed north, hell even if I left the tower it pointed south.
"Perhaps it doesn't work the way you think it does" Iroh said annoyingly wise as always.
"A compas that doesn't point north is useless" I said exasperated.
"What I mean is that it may point to something other than north"
"What? Explain"
"The Tower Master gave you an item he said was magical, that means it has a purpose. I have heard there are climbers who can tell what an item is and what it does, perhaps we should go into town and find one of them" my uncle suggested.
"Fine"
Walking out of the tower, Me and uncle Iroh made our way towards the market area hoping to find someone who could assist.
"Where should we look?" I asked, pushing our way through the bustling crowd.
Looking around uncle Iroh replied saying "Perhaps we should start with a shop, they have to know what they sell afterall"
Nodding my head in agreement I turned my head back and forth until I spotted a shop just a bit down the road that sold magic items.
"This way" I said, walking towards it.
The shop was part of a two story building in the classic earth kingdom style. To the right of the door was a window displaying some weapons and above the door frame was a sign reading 'Iron Boar'.
"Let's go in" I basically commanded.
Opening the door the bell rang. Entering I saw the wall covered in things like armor and weapons. Approaching the counter I was met with a girl about my age flicking at a quill's feather.
Seeing me approach she chirped up saying "Welcome to the Iron Boar, what can I help you with?"
"Can you tell what this is?" I said, dropping the compass on the table.
"Oh, you mean identify?" he asked.
"Yes"
She gestured to a small sign on the counter telling me the price for the service. Pulling out a few coins I dropped them on the table and she swept them into a cash chest.
"Let's see here," she said, picking up the compass "Well this is strange?"
"What?" I questioned.
"It says it's bound to you?"
"Meaning?"
"Only you can use it or those you permit to use it"
"But what does it do?" I asked frustrated.
"It just says that it points to what you want most, in this world"
Coming up behind me uncle Iroh commented "Maybe that is meant literally, it will point to what you currently what most" then he dropped some bag on the table "I would like to buy this please"
"Alright then" she said, examining it then telling us the price.
Uncle just looked expectantly at me and I pulled out some coins and threw them down on the counter. Thinking at what was said for a second I grabbed the compass back and walked out of the shop.
"Prince Zuko, what are you doing?" Uncle asked.
"Don't you see," I said, turning around. "It is pointing to the avatar," I said.
Grabbing my shoulder Uncle stopped me from walking "Listen to the Tower Master, even if you found the avatar you would lose in a fight, although powerful you are not a master yet"
"That what am I supposed to do, I need to regain my honor" I screamed in his face.
"Do as he suggest, climb the tower, train, prepare yourself to fight someone who can control all elements"
My heart ached as I thought how this compass could lead me to what I want most, to the avatar themself. I just wanted to go home and regain my fathers trust.
"The Tower Master was right, it is inevitable that the avatar comes here, it is best to just stay here for now" Uncle advised.
All I felt was anger at my inability to go home, but my mind was made up. Like my uncle said I needed to get stronger. Opening the compass the arrow changed positions, instead of pointing south it now pointed towards the tower.
"Fine, let's go," I said resolutely, making my way towards the tower.
POV Callum
Standing on the fifty first floor I ignored the darkness surrounding me, as this floor was literally called the dark forest. Trees went up higher than most could see and made a canopy not letting any light through and there was light above those trees. Using my abilities I started moving trees out of the area I was in making a large grove of light. Smiling, I started raising a temple of white stone with a middle spire reaching quite high and two smaller ones one on each side of the middle spire. Walking into the temple I split the temple into two rooms, one rectangular and the second an octagon towards the back.
"This is going to be a great easter egg for myself"
Walking to the octagon room I raised a pedestal in the center. Then I thrust a sword down into it. It was a straight short sword with a greenish blue to it. On the blade was two diamonds, one was normal size near the hilt and the other was stretched till a few inches before the tip, both touching points and both a teal color. The handle was the same color and had a short guard with a pommel.
"Awsome"
Walking back to the other room I raised an exhausted door blocking the way. Then I pulled up a stone table with three spots for oddly shaped items on it. Putting in some finishing details I left the temple.
"Time to spread these out?" I said holding three jewels "Bust where?"
Finally getting an idea I teleported to my castle on the fiftieth floor and put the blue one on the belt of a statue right outside the castle. The red one I dropped on a wyvern dungeon on the thirty ninth floor. The green one though, that one was different. I wanted the place for this to be special.
"That will work," I said, smiling to myself.
Transporting myself to the thirtieth floor I opened my monster creation function. First I started with its feet, a thick pad with claws coming out. Then I made my way up adding arms and a head. The head itself had a long mouth sticking out with teeth coming from its jaw. One thing it didn't have though was eyes.
[Would you like to summon your custom monster]
"Yes"
I watched as liquid metal rose from the ground making its outline in the previously designed shape. A metal golem.
Name: Metal golem
Strength- 54
Endurance-33
Agility: 31
Constitution: 41
Will: 17
Mind: 15
Spirit: 10
Skills: [Change shape 10]
Abilities: [Harden] [Melt] [Clone]
This monster was no doubt too powerful for the thirtieth floor, but that was the point. It's going to cause a commotion.
"What do you need master?" it asked in a voice sounding like a chainsaw.
"Protect this" I said, handing it the stone.
"Of course" it said, placing it on its own forehead like a singular eye. People would have to kill it to get the stone.
"Now it's time for the quest," I said, turning around and walking away.
I started off by putting a few rules for the quest, it would activate if someone either found the temple or one of the stones and touched it. If they lost a stone then the quest would disappear. This was meant to be a very competitive quest that will stretch after it is completed. Recently I had realized that the only real quest I had so far was to make it to certain floors or to sign up with the guild. This was an attempt to rectify this.
[Quest]
[You have found a remnant of an ancient time, find all three keystones and unlock their door. One can be found in plain sight, another can be found at the end of a challenge, the third will be in an eye]
[Rewards: 2,000 XP, a unique blade]
"Alright that should do it for this quest, now time for my other projects" I said as I looked at my list of blueprints for items as rewards for my more eccentric quests.
[Cursed mask]
[Seer's stone]
[Phoenix flame]
[Ambrosia]
[Class change stone]
[Nimbus]
[Din's fire]
"It's time to start having some fun," I said with a wide smile "Can't believe I hadn't done this sooner"

I apologize if you guys don't really like the Zelda references, but it is my favorite game series. I have also been outlining a new story for after this one is completed set in breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom.
