Jimin realized someone's presence outside of his room. A strange face, he had never seen before. He momentarily shifted his gaze to Taehyung, for a moment he wondered, if Taehyung was real or not.
But if he were a shadow, then Taehyung would whispered something to him. Most presumably, about Jisun. However, Taehyung didn't say anything, he stood there outside, and smile.
Why would a stranger come to see him? Jimin thought. Since the last ten years, nobody had visited him, besides Ms. Nawol and Dr. Lee. Sometimes Mr. Kwon would come to see him, only when he was needed to shift from one to another room.
It only happened when usually a new doctor would arrive and decides to experiment on Jimin.
But all those therapy session had been stopped few years ago. Jimin didn't remember how long he had been left alone in a room, but as far as his weak mind could remember, it was more longer than he thought.
After Dr. Lee declared Jimin a hopeless patient, few doctors tried to do some therapy sessions with him. They all were same, spat same words, "What happened that night?". All the doctors either were craving for fame, or they were desperate to proof themselves that they are professionals.
Jimin never reacted to them, he didn't want to answer any of that stabbing question, as he had forgotten almost all the important details about the incident. Sometimes, his mind occasionally recalled some blurry memories through the dreams.
Jimin gazed at Taehyung for a long brief moment, realizing that Taehyung might be another doctor, who wanted to waste his time, who wanted to act like a professional for a time being, and once he begin to feel bore, he'd eventually give up.
Stood outside, Taehyung looked determined, four weeks, four therapy session and he needed one reaction from Jimin, Taehyung was ready to spent his his time on him. But what if, Jimin failed him?.
The thought bothered Taehyung, he couldn't accept this loss. He desperately wanted to start his therapy session, but before it finally occured, he wanted to gather some information about Jimin's like or dislike, what could attract him.
But Dr. Lee considered Jimin an unpredictable patient. Which meant, that his most likable thing could trigger him. Taehyung sighed a long breath, as he stepping inside the room.
Jimin shifted his gaze away from Taehyung, he now looked at the empty white wall, not showing any interest in Taehyung's appearance.
"Hello Jimin!" Taehyung greeted, knowing that Jimin won't respond to him. "I'm Dr. Kim, from now on, I'm going to take care of you." He said.
No response.
Taehyung knew it won't be an easy task, earning reaction from Jimin was something many doctors urging since a very long time. "I hope we can be best friends." He said.
Each word of Taehyung seemed hard to understand to Jimin, he stared at the wall silently, without even blinking.
Taehyung sighed heavily, "Alright, I know you don't want to talk, but I'm not going to give up on you." He clarified, after gazing at Jimin with sympathy.
Jimin still refused to react, he numbly stared at the empty wall. Taehyung could observed the deep pain behind that numbness, the hopelessness, that expressed his long suffering. People had failed Jimin, because he was weak and vulnerable, and he created a shell around him, that grew like a throne, preventing others to stepped inside.
Taehyung bit his lower lip as he sat at the edge of the bed. He gently touched the back of Jimin's hand, his eyes focused on the deep wound on Jimin's wrist.
"I know Jimin!" Taehyung's voice trembled as he began to speak in a low voice, "Everyone failed you, each one of them broke your heart but I promise I'll break your silence instead, and heal your wounds." He paused, feeling the warmth of tears in the corner of his eyes, each word expressed his own agony.
Taehyung cleared his throat, he stood up and wiped his tears, as Ms. Nawol stepped inside, holding a tray of medicines. She looked bewildered at Taehyung's appearance, "May I ask why you visit this room?" She asked curiously.
Taehyung looked at the elderly woman, despite her age, there was a warmth in her eyes, that reflected years of experience in caring for patients like Jimin. "I'm going to treat him for the time being." He replied in a subtle tone, his hands slipped into his pants pocket as he stood there silently for a moment.
Ms. Nawol nodded coldly, she approached Jimin and gently inserted a syringe into his vein. Jimin flinched at the sharp pain, glanced down at his forearm, and let out a soft moan. Soon as the red liquid began to blend with his blood, his head felt heavy and he felt sleepy.
"I'm sorry, but I don't have choice." Ms. Nawol apologized, she then put a band aid on his hand and with a gentle smile she softly caressed Jimin's head, "Your hair growing a lot, I have to cut again." She said.
Standing near the bed, Taehyung noticed how easily Jimin allowed Ms. Nawol, to care for him, showing the trust and bond they had developed over time.
"Ms. Nawol! How long you have been taking care of him?" Taehyung asked.
Ms. Nawol looked up at Taehyung, his eyes full of determination, something she never sensed in other doctors.
"Ever since he arrived." Ms. Nawol replied.
"Then you certainly can tell me about him." Taehyung said, hope flickered in his heart.
"And what exactly you want to know about him?" Ms. Nawol asked in return.
"Everything." Taehyung replied.
Jimin could hear their conversations, but the words blurred out in his vision, he languidly closed his eyes and lost himself in slumber.
