The Emperor of blood.

It was a title that I found very embarrassing.

Perhaps if I didn't have memories of my past life I would have liked it but after reading so many novels it made me shiver with cringe. I had even killed the person who first came up with it, Although in hindsight massacring an entire city just to kill one person only seemed to solidify the title.

"Ah…" I let out a regretful sigh while leaning back against the cushioned seat of the carriage.

I gazed out the window and watched the countless trees blurring by. It was only after a few seconds did I move my line of sight back into the carriage.

My eyes landing on the tall figure of Nova who was seated just in front on me, She sat completely still with her hands rested on her armored thighs not even moving an inch. She towered over me even when she was sitting down, It was because of her height that I had to have a custom carriage made for whenever she accompanied me.

'Why couldn't I have a remarkable name like the Iron Valkyrie?' I clicked tongue while Nova titled her slightly head in confusion from my hidden thoughts.

"I like your title…." Her monotone yet sweet voice rang out breaking the silence.

"…." I felt embarrassed that she could tell so easily tell what I was thinking about.

"What do you think will happen?" I didn't hesitate to change the subject as I crossed my arms.

"For the first time one of the eight swords has been killed" I spoke without waiting for Nova's response knowing that i wouldn't get one that I wanted.

"I've slaughtered his followers and his army's countless times but this I've always let those little bugs live" My eyes narrowed remembering many of the unanswered taunts I've made toward the Holy Emperor.

"Will this finally spur that fool to take action?" I waited for Nova's opinion with eagerness filling my heart.

"No" Unfortunately she shot me down with a calm shake of her head.

Although i already knew the answer so I could only let out a deep sigh. Even before I decided to kill Jospeh I was aware that nothing would change, I guess you could just say that I was throwing a tantrum since that cowardly bastard wouldn't face me in a battle.

"Do you want to spar?" Nova seemed to sense my helplessness and offered to spar with another tilt of her head.

'She's to kind….' I thought as I stared at the armored woman with a warm feeling in my chest.

Most thought that Nova was an emotionless killing machine that loved to bathe in blood, The truth was that she was just shy and had a hard time expressing her emotions. I'm sure if I uttered that statement to anyone else they would be flabbergasted especially due to her reputation.

The Iron Valkyrie was the last human who still carried the blood of the giants who had long gone extinct. Nova was an orphan of war who took up the blade when she was only seven years old, Even at that age she was still taller than most grown men.

We had met on a fated day and I had lost pathetically in a battle against her. It was one of those times where I truly thought I was about to die, Yet Nova hadn't finished me off and left the battlefield. I was thankful that I had managed to keep my life but it wasn't even a few weeks before i stood before the tall woman once again with our swords drawn.

I lost miserably again.

And once again Nova had spared my life and proceeded to disappear. This happened on multiple occasions to the point I started to think she was torturing me on purpose. That the Iron Valkyrie was trying to break me mentally for her own twisted amusement, That was until she gave me chocolates after one of the battles.

Yep, The violent Iron Valkyrie who could scare even the strongest of men with just a glance had gifted me a box of chocolates. I was stunned but she was surprisingly nimble for someone of her size and disappeared before I could process what was happening.

That was almost half a decade ago, And now that armored woman in front of me was one of my beloved wives.

"Maybe later" I smiled gently before throwing my head back and proceeded to stare at the celling in silence.

I had come to the conclusion that I was stuck in a rut, There was no one left who could stand level with me anymore. I tried to antagonize the Holy Emperor so that he would face me but he stayed in his palace like a pathetic cowered, As for that barbarian king he wasn't even worth my precious time.

'I'm bored…..'
