Chereads / Marvel: Ned the Master of Mystic Arts / Chapter 76 - The Gathering of Forces

Chapter 76 - The Gathering of Forces

On this battlefield, which resembled a living hell, the red spandex figure swinging back and forth to rescue people appeared painfully powerless.

"Little AI, go distract those guys! If possible, knock them out of the sky!"

Ned directed the Iron Man suit towards the two supervillains in the sky—Green Goblin and Vulture.

As for why Vulture was even here, Ned didn't care. Given the scene unfolding, no villain present would escape today. Ned would make sure of that.

"Yes, sir," Little AI responded. The Iron Man suit shot upward toward the Green Goblin and Vulture.

Meanwhile, Ned extended his right hand and spun it in a circular motion before thrusting it forward with force.

A gust of wind swept through, clearing away flying debris, shattered cars, and even falling missiles. Fires that had spread across the battlefield were extinguished in an instant. Spider-Man, Peter Parker, who had been frantically saving people, paused in surprise.

"Oh!" Peter exclaimed, leaping to Ned's side. "Mystic Sorcerer, you're finally here!"

"Yeah," Ned replied curtly, nodding. "I'll deal with those two. You help the police evacuate civilians."

"What did you say?" Peter asked in disbelief. "I'm going to help fight! Don't forget, Spider-Man's popularity is way higher than Daredevil's!"

"You…"

Before Ned could argue further, the battle in the sky erupted.

"Boom!"

The Iron Man suit fired two palm repulsors, interrupting the Green Goblin and Vulture's missile assault on the ground. The suit then rocketed forward and delivered a powerful punch to the Green Goblin, sending him flying.

"Hah!"

The man piloting the Vulture's suit, a burly brute, saw his ally hit and swung his blade-edged wings at the Iron Man suit.

"Clang!"

Unfazed, the Iron Man suit raised an energy shield to block the attack. The Vulture's blades couldn't even leave a scratch.

"Boom!"

Little AI, controlling the Iron Man suit, wasn't one to hold back. Spotting an opening, the suit's arc reactor unleashed a powerful golden energy beam aimed squarely at Vulture's chest. If it connected, Vulture wouldn't just be injured—he'd be out for good.

"Clank!"

Just then, a mechanical claw shot up from the ground and yanked Vulture downward, causing the energy blast to narrowly miss its target.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

The figure responsible for the claw revealed himself. Two more metallic tentacles struck the ground, propelling the figure into the air to face the Vulture.

Ned narrowed his eyes. "Doctor Octopus," he muttered, recognizing the new threat.

"Raaah!"

Before Peter could process the new villain's appearance, another voice roared from the crowd. In an instant, the world went dark, leaving only the glow of the Iron Man suit's arc reactor and repulsors illuminating the battlefield.

"Crackle! Crackle!"

The sound of electricity crackling echoed as a glowing blue figure rose into the air.

"Max?" Peter groaned in frustration. Of all the villains, why did it have to be him? His web-shooters always malfunctioned around this guy.

"Wow, you look more like Thor than Thor himself," Tony Stark's voice quipped from the Iron Man suit. The AI scanned the villains and added, "So, anyone else planning to join the party?"

"And if there is?" Doctor Octopus sneered.

"If there is, great. If not, well, God told me the other day he's short on guard dogs. You lot would fit right in."

Tony's mocking tone was as aggravating as ever. Even Doctor Octopus frowned, while the less intelligent villains were already fuming.

"Who are you calling a dog?!"

With a roar, Rhino launched several missiles toward the Iron Man suit. The glowing trails of the missiles were vivid against the darkness.

"Wow!" Tony's mocking voice exclaimed again as the suit deployed an energy barrier.

"Boom!"

The missiles exploded against the shield, engulfing the area in thick smoke.

"Hahaha!" Rhino's triumphant laughter echoed from below.

But when the smoke cleared, the Iron Man suit remained unharmed.

"How is that possible?!" Rhino bellowed in disbelief.

"Nothing's impossible," Tony replied coldly. "By the way, are you ready to meet God? Need a moment to fix your face first?"

Rhino's laughter ceased. Furious, he charged toward Ned with heavy, earth-shaking steps.

"Peter," Ned said, glancing at his friend. "He's the only one who stays on the ground. You can handle him."

"Got it!" Peter replied with determination.

As Rhino barreled forward, Ned rose into the air with the help of his cloak, leveling himself with Vulture and Doctor Octopus.

"Are you ready to meet the Goddess of Death?" Ned's emotionless voice echoed through the battlefield.

He waved his right hand, and a flaming golden blade materialized, burning with intense heat.
