Chapter 38 - The Arrival of Odin

Thor, after all he had been through, was no longer the young and proud man who would suffer in silence for the sake of his dignity.

As he saw his current mission about to fail and realized he might even fall here, Thor was already planning to unleash all his strength in a final desperate strike to repel Thanos and then escape through the Bifrost.

Just as Thor was about to act on this plan, another rainbow-colored beam of light shot down from the sky, striking the surface of Titan with tremendous force, creating a massive crater.

As the rainbow light dissipated, a white-haired, one-eyed elder clad in golden armor appeared, riding a Pegasus and hovering mid-air.

Although the elder had only one eye and his hair was white, his imposing aura and unparalleled majesty made it impossible for anyone to look him directly in the eye.

Upon arriving, Odin took a quick glance at the injured Thor. His single eye narrowed, but he did not react further. Instead, he raised the Eternal Spear in his hand and hurled it into the distance.

The moment Thanos saw this, his expression changed drastically. He hurriedly prepared to throw his Tyrant's Blade to intercept the Eternal Spear.

However, Thor was not about to give him that opportunity. Although Thor wasn't sure of Odin's intent, he could tell from Thanos' reaction that the target of Odin's Eternal Spear was of significant importance.

Whatever it was, it must not allow Thanos to have his way.

With this in mind, Thor mustered all his strength and swung Stormbreaker at Thanos' neck. With Odin present, Thor's confidence surged, and he unleashed all his divine power into Stormbreaker.

Infused with Thor's divine energy, Stormbreaker erupted with dazzling lightning, tearing through the skies, its power now several times stronger than any previous attack!

It was evident that Thor had activated an upgraded version of his "Seeing Dad Power" — "Seeing Odin Power."

Thanos, genuinely startled by Thor's state and the enhanced power of Stormbreaker, had no time to intercept the Eternal Spear. Instead, he frantically raised the Tyrant's Blade to block Stormbreaker.

Boom!

Crack!

As the axe and blade collided, a loud boom echoed, and the Tyrant's Blade shattered completely under Stormbreaker's strike. It was further blasted into pieces by the lightning coursing through Stormbreaker, leaving Thanos heartbroken.

"Argh!!"

Having gained the upper hand, Thor continued his relentless assault, swinging Stormbreaker wildly at Thanos. However, Thor's strength was, after all, a temporary outburst rather than a result of steady growth.

Though the strikes were powerful, their speed inevitably began to slow. Moreover, Ebony Maw's telekinetic interference further hampered him, allowing Thanos to narrowly evade Thor's horizontal swings and vertical chops.

Suddenly, Thor felt as though a heavy burden had been lifted from him. His movements became significantly faster, catching Thanos off guard and slicing a large chunk of flesh from his left arm.

Father!

Thor immediately realized what had happened — Odin must have dealt with that insidious Ebony Maw after noticing Thor's sluggish movements and unwieldy weapon handling.

Understanding this, Thor's spirits soared, and he attacked with even greater ferocity.

Thanos, already struggling against Thor's full-power strikes, found himself at an even greater disadvantage now that his Tyrant's Blade was gone and Thor was in peak form.

With the tide turning so dramatically, Thanos soon found himself covered in wounds inflicted by Stormbreaker. His limbs, chest, and abdomen were riddled with injuries, bleeding profusely.

Were it not for Thanos' incredibly durable body, he would have lost his combat capability from excessive blood loss alone.

Even so, Thanos was no longer able to mount any effective resistance against Thor.

At this point, he could only hope that Odin, who had spent years building a reputation as a benevolent ruler in the cosmos, would intervene and command Thor to spare him. Although even Thanos himself doubted this possibility.

"Ahhhh!!!"

Thor, his eyes red with fury, leapt into the air with a roar and brought Stormbreaker down in a devastating arc, decapitating Thanos in one clean strike.

Though he had done this many times before, Thor still found it hard to control his emotions every time he executed Thanos. The purple-skinned tyrant carried far too many blood debts on his shoulders.

"Huff—"

Just as Thor exhaled deeply in relief, having finally put an end to Thanos, Black Dwarf suddenly appeared on the battlefield. Stomping heavily on the ground, he leaped into the air and raised his massive war pick to strike Thor.

Swish!

Before Thor could react, a golden beam pierced through Black Dwarf, scattering droplets of blood in mid-air.

Odin calmly retrieved the Eternal Spear without sparing a glance at Black Dwarf's lifeless body on the ground. After a brief look at Thanos' headless corpse, he said to Thor:

"There's nothing more for you to do here. I'll have Heimdall destroy this planet with the Bifrost. The Thor from this timeline is already on Earth with his mortal girlfriend. You're coming back to Asgard with me for treatment. I also have some questions for you."

"No, Father, there are good people here!"

Thor argued and then shouted into the empty expanse, "Gamora! Come with me to Asgard! I'll provide you with a ship so you can leave!"

Although Thor didn't know this world's Gamora personally, the Gamora from his own world had saved his life. Moreover, as far as he knew, Gamora was a good person in every universe. Thus, Thor wanted to take her away to ensure her safety.

No one could predict what Thanos' subordinates, the "cosmic trash" of this planet, might do after their master's death. Taking Gamora with him was the safest option.

After a while, as Odin grew impatient and was about to stop giving face to this future version of his son, Gamora finally emerged reluctantly, bringing Nebula with her.

"Thor, can I trust you?" Gamora asked cautiously, her eyes filled with suspicion.

Nebula, on the other hand, looked as if she wanted to draw her blade and strike Thor down immediately. Her loyalty to Thanos was unwavering at this point.

"Of course, my friend."

Though Thor found Gamora's formality strange, he decided not to dwell on it. After all, he was about to leave this world and return to Asgard to purge the poison from his body.

"Hei—"

"Father, I can now open the Bifrost myself," Thor interrupted Odin with a smug tone, unable to hide his pride.

"Hmph! Then do it quickly."

"Oh…"

Thor, a bit disappointed that he didn't receive the praise he expected, pouted slightly. He raised Stormbreaker, and in the next moment, accompanied by a rainbow-colored beam, they were back in Asgard.
