It had been two days since my visit from Nick, in that time I had gone over my plans and settled on one. What my plans were involved Jean, I realised the other day that Jean's physical fitness was greatly limited and to help her overcome this I had begun work on biological enhancements. Due to this I'd also got a new quest.
New Quest – {Biological Enhancement}
-Biological Enhancement (*New*)
You have started down the route of biological enhancement a risky and complex endeavour.
Objective: Create a functioning formula that can break the genetic limits of a human without causing them to become too estranged from the rest of their species.
Reward: Progenitor Virus (Resident Evil), All Viral Strains (Resident Evil), 10,000pts, ???
While I was at it I decided to check over my point notifications.

Whistling slightly at the amount of points I got I close my menus. Standing up I look around, at the moment I'm currently in my house waiting for Jean. I'm waiting because I promised Jean I'd take her on a date tonight and I plan to uphold my promise.
Opening my inventory, I check over the food I prepared earlier, slowly walking around my house I decide to use this chance to decorate my empty shelves with some of the less valuable trinkets I stole from Odin.
Adjusting a particular pendant, I can't seem to get it to fit with the aesthetic I have going, suddenly Jean steps out of her room wearing a lovely dark green evening dress. Glancing between the pendant in my hand and Jean I get an idea, holding up the pendant I mentally envision her wearing it.
Smiling at the idea I quickly use my energy to check for curses or other unsavoury enchantments, finding it to be a normal pendant I happily approach Jean.
"You look beautiful Jean. Would you like this pendant?" – Morgan
Offering her the delicate tree shaped emerald pendant outlined in a pure gold she shows a beaming smile.
"Yes please, thank you" – Jean
Walking around behind Jean I unclasp the pendant and place it around her neck, walking back around to the front of her it looks perfect. Doing a quick once over with Jean I open a portal, stepping through the portal I return to my human form and change my outfit to a long black evening dress with vine motives along the seams.
Leading Jean through by her hand we step out into the area I had prepared, set up in the higher parts of the arctic circle I had come to this place earlier to prepare it. It had taken me a few minutes at my speed to find the perfect location but I felt it would be worth it.
The actual location I chose was on the side of a snow covered mountain at a height just above the tops of the surrounding trees, down the middle of the forest area a clear stream bubbled out of the rocks at the base of the mountain forming a clear view towards the clearing two hundred metres away.
In order not to freeze Jean I made sure to establish a barrier when I stepped through earlier and heated the air within, resting at a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius I also included a small breeze that flows through the bubble.
Finally, to top everything off I had analysed the weather in this location and figured out a date where there would be no clouds. Gasping in awe I lead Jean over to the lightly lit table set up at the edge of the wooden platform I created.
Pulling out her chair and sitting her down I move over to my seat, taking out a intricately decorated glass of chocolate milk I slide it over to Jean, for me I grab an equally intricate glass of strawberry milk.
Sitting in silence for a few minutes I let Jean appreciate the nature of the region, with no light pollution or clouds the sky opens up to reveal a canvas of stars above us.
After a few minutes Jean seems to finish looking around for a bit and turns to me.
"Thank you Morgan this place is beautiful, when did you get it all set up?" – Jean
Smiling proudly, I boastfully declare.
"I have a few locations like this prepared around the world, and for this location I set it up a bit less than a week ago." – Morgan
Moving on from that I decide it's time to eat, so opening my inventory I take out the dishes I prepared. Not going for anything complex I made up some satay chicken noodles, simple but very delicious.
Placing the dish in front of Jean we both start eating, after a few minutes I finish my food first and just sit in silence. Once Jean finishes her food I clean up all the dishes and swap the table out for a comfy bench.
On the bench Jean snuggles up to my arm as we look out over the snow covered forest and the canvas of stars above it, checking the time it should almost be time. Just as I check the time the sky begins to change colour, after a few minutes of building up colour Jean and I are welcomed by the sight of the aurora borealis.
Watching the vibrant colours flow across the sky I enjoy the moment with Jean. Over an hour later I'm considering leaving when a flash of light streaks across the sky followed by another and another until the sky is lit up by hundreds of streaks of lights from a meteor shower.
Leaning my head against Jean's I enjoy the peace and quiet, a few minutes later as the meteor shower begins to fade Jean moves away. Turning to look at her she leans in and kisses me on the lips, reciprocating the kiss we hold it for a few seconds before breaking apart.
"Thank you Morgan." – Jean
Hearing the genuine thankfulness in Jean's voice I respond by leaning in and silently kissing her on the lips. That night we spent hours watching the last of the lights while occasionally sharing a kiss.
The next morning, I was making breakfast when Jean woke up, due to my biology I don't need to sleep but I had laid with Jean a bit last night. Walking up to me Jean leans over and kisses me, falling into the impromptu make out session we continue it for a few minutes before I have to break away to finish the breakfast.
Then after a enjoyable breakfast I give Jean a kiss at the door before she hops in her car to head to university. Left alone I'm not quite sure what I want to do, with all my equipment set up I barely need many thought trains to control my entire facility leaving me a lot of free time.
Pondering my options I decide to visit my company, set on my decision I open my door, head outside, and hop in my car. A few minutes of driving later I'm travelling through the now far cleaner streets of New York, passing a sewer system I notice a group of my mechanical cleaning rats surrounded by normal rats.
Humming in satisfaction it seems my robots are meshing well with the local animal population, approaching a green light I'm mid-way through the intersection when a speeding van runs a red light towards me. Mostly ignoring the car, I use a single thought train to psionically stop the entire thing before driving off.
Looking in my mirror I can see multiple police cars skidding in around the stalled van, turning back to the road I look towards the building at the end of the street. Standing 85 floors tall and designed with intricate natural purchases the building looks more like a forest than a human building.
At the top of the building a large sign glows a deep purple and says Horizon industries, admiring my building I take a second to appreciate how well the eco friendly and natural design turned out before pulling into the underground carpark.
Parking my car in the reserved parking left just for me I take a second to adjust my outfit, starting with a black suit fitted to my proportions I move onto a skirt resting just below my knees. Finishing the outfit with a set of black leggings and some short heel shoes my outfit comes together well, feeling my outfit works well to emphasise my power in the company I step out of the car.
Tying my hair up in a ponytail I quickly check my horns and tail, I'd stopped bothering with hiding them awhile ago and surprisingly nearly no one commented on them.
Stepping into the private elevator with direct access to all floors I tap the button for the first lab, moving up to the sixtieth floor I step out to chaos. Running around the room sparks fly from nearly every machine as sirens blare, connecting to the buildings systems I correct the malfunctions and shut down the alarms.
Crawling out of a panel in the floor Tessa has frazzled hair and a bit of char across her face, looking around the lab I try to find its actual owner.
"Tessa where's Helen? And what are you doing here looking like that?" – Morgan
Patting down her hair Tessa looks around a bit before hopping over to me.
"Morning Morgan, I'm helping Helen out with her cradle technology, you know we both specialise in biological regeneration technologies so she asked if she could bounce some ideas off me. Peter was here earlier but he ran off, and Helen went to look for a fire extinguisher after the fuse box exploded." – Tessa
Nodding I pass the lizard scientist a cloth to wipe her face, hearing a commotion behind me Helen Sho runs in holding a fire extinguisher and followed by one of the security guards. Looking around Helen notices me and the lack of alarms, the security guard behind her also notices and decides he's not needed.
"Morgan! Good to see you, come here and look at this." – Helen
Running over the short Asian scientist grabs my hand and begins dragging me further into the lab, stopping in front of a fuse box she points at it as if it explains everything. Sighing I quickly analyse it and notice the problem.
"How much power does your cradle need if you were able to blow out a fuse like this?" – Morgan
Waving her hand Helen makes a few faces before grabbing my arm again and dragging me to a monitor next to the cradle.
"Look, Tessa and I were trying something new using her formula. It just takes a bit of power." – Helen
Looking over the different lines of code and their interaction with the cradles matrix I find a few issues, adjusting the issues I point out what I'm doing to the two scientists next to me. After adjusting a few bugs in the code, I save it and turn my focus to the lizard girl and human.
"Okay I've fixed a few bugs that caused excessive power draw, but you still can't power this entirely with the buildings electrical grid. You should head up a few floors and ask Bruce if you can borrow one of the spare fusion cores to supplement the power." – Morgan
Almost simultaneously both women face palm, whilst Helen sighs at the obvious solution the hyperactive Doctor Connors immediately runs for the elevator. Left alone with the inventor of the cradle technology I go over a few side projects of hers while we wait for Tessa to return.
Running back in through the door Tessa has two fusion cores, and I moving over to the cradle use my matter manipulation to create another power socket and a separate device to hold and regulate the fusion cores.
Finished on this floor I wave goodbye to the two scientists who have their heads locked to their work before hopping back into the elevator. Moving up two floors I step out into another lab; this lab is decorated with movie posters and filming equipment.
On the far side of the room a man sits at a workbench whilst working on something, behind him a 3D printer whirs away as it assembles a part. Moving over to him I glance at his work before greeting him when he doesn't seem to notice me.
"Morning Quinten, how's the work going?" – Morgan
Jumping almost a metre the master of illusions lets out a manly scream before almost falling from his chair.
"My god Morgan you almost gave me a heart attack." – Quinten
Chuckling at his reaction I get back to business.
"Sorry, but I was here for almost two minutes before I spoke. Anyway, how's work going?" – Morgan
Pulling up a few files on his computer he wheels across the room quickly in his swivel chair before coming back with a small device, plugging the device into his computer a hyper realistic hologram is projected above it showing the files he pulled up.
"As you can see from my demonstration the technology is working incredibly well, from here I've been working on optimising the UI to maximise user ease and began designing better more durable frames. Finally, I've begun contacting different major companies in the movie industry but it hasn't been going well." – Quinten
Nodding along I follow Quinten's explanation till the end, thinking over the problem I come up with a solution.
"How confident are you in your technology? If you're confident enough contact Sage and ask her to help you set up a new department for public display technologies. If the existing companies don't understand the value of your creation we'll just do it ourselves and put them out of business." – Morgan
Smiling widely Quinten seems to consider my suggestion before turning in his chair and rapidly beginning to write up a document. Mentally sending up my permission to Sage I also give a quick rundown of my plan.
Looking at the distracted Mysterio I decide I'm finished here and head for the elevator again. Riding it up I quickly think about how I found Sage. Starting a few weeks ago different groups began sending members of their groups in a attempt to infiltrate my company, of those groups I filtered out most of them but some were useful.
Sage was one such member, sent by the Hellfire Club she was tasked with infiltrating and controlling my company. Unluckily for them Sage didn't like them much, so when I found this out I offered her protection in exchange for her loyalty.
Now I'm not naïve enough to trust her fully but after a few weeks of monitoring she had managed to gain my trust, I still monitored her but for the most part she handled disputes between my employees and helped with resource allocation.
Most of the bills and busy work was handled by a specialised program I designed at the start of my company, but even then she was still busy for at least six hours a day. I made sure not to give her overtime though and her work never got to the stage she couldn't handle it. If it did I would just chip in with one of my thought trains and deal with most of it.
Stopping with a ding the elevator door opened again on a new floor, stepping out I'm greeted by the low sound of an arc welder. Moving into the lab I weave my way past different mechanical devices to I get to the owner of the lab.
Otto Octavius was one of the kindest men I know, he worked towards the goal of improving the lives of all people on earth. Tapping him on the shoulder once he finished a weld, he startled slightly before turning off the welder and taking off the welding mask.
"Morning Otto." – Morgan
"Oh, good morning Miss Morgana." – Otto
"Please you don't need the formalities just call me Morgan, everyone else does." – Morgan
Offering me a kind smile Otto acknowledges my request before moving off to the side and grabbing a bottle of medicine.
"How are you going Otto? You know Tessa would be more than happy to give you a dose of the Lizard serum if you want it, we can fix the inhuman traits later." -Morgan
Sighing Otto seems to think, he was recently diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease just before moving to work for me. The medicine he was taking now worked to slow the effects but wouldn't stop it. Both Tessa and I had offered to give him a dose of the modified lizard serum but he had resolutely denied the offer.
"No thanks Morgan, this disease motivates me to complete my work. I really appreciate the offer but I need something to push me, something to evoke a sense of crisis." – Otto
Nodding I look at the determined scientist, raising his hand I can see small tremors running through it. Looking around the workshop my worry decreases, lined across different points of the workshop are different forms of prosthetic limbs.
"So, how has the work been." – Morgan
Instantly doing a one eighty, the grim atmosphere instantly changes as a smile flashes onto Otto's face. Rushing over to one of the prosthetic models he begins tapping away at buttons.
"Oh, it's been going so well, Peter's been helping me work on a neural interface for the arms." – Otto
Grabbing a weird helmet Otto puts it on his head as the set of mechanical arms behind him twitch, fiddling with a few settings on the computer he steps back and sports a look of focus. Suddenly the arms start to move, picking up a tennis ball from a nearby bucket he tosses it to the arms.
Catching the tennis ball the arms begin juggling it, tossing in more and more balls the arms continue to pick up speed till they're a blur to the human eye. Suddenly after the bucket is empty the arms stop juggling and start accurately tossing the balls into the bucket.
Clapping I watch as Otto starts shutting down the system.
"Peter suggested an implanted controller but I'm not sure." – Otto
"It could work Otto, just… be really careful and run your ideas passed the others first. Oh, and don't do any experiments on yourself, am I understood." – Morgan
Nodding Otto turns back to his work, leaving him be I head for the elevator.
