The decision weighed heavily on my chest, but once I made up my mind, it felt like a part of the burden lifted.
The previous night, as my thoughts raced, my wolf—tired of my endless back-and-forth—had finally taken over and lulled me into sleep.
Now, with morning light spilling into my room, I awoke to the reality of Sunday. Tomorrow was the big day: my 18th birthday and my official ceremony to become Alpha.
I pushed myself out of bed, heading straight for the shower. The cold water snapped me into focus as I went over my plan again.
No matter how impossible it seemed, my heart had chosen Haylie. I couldn't imagine a future without her. The idea of marrying her, building a life together, and somehow finding a way to bridge the gap between our worlds had rooted itself in my soul.
