JC POV
We sat together on the porch, staring silently at the scene before us. The weight of the moment kept words at bay.
I was still in shock. A sister. A mother. A father. It felt like I'd stepped into a different timeline, one that didn't belong to me. And yet, here I was. I could tell Klinton was still upset about my decision to trespass through the portal to the spirit world.
Resting my head in my arms, I inhaled deeply, exhaling slowly. The quiet between us stretched until Klinton finally spoke, his voice heavy with emotion.
"You know, if you stay here, your body will disappear into the spirit world. Only your soul will remain, and you'll never be able to return to the real world," he said, his words hanging heavily in the air.
