Liam POV
The sunlight streamed through the window, its golden rays scattering across my face and coaxing me from a deep sleep. I blinked, adjusting to the light, and realized I was still curled up on the hospital sofa.
My legs were propped awkwardly on a plastic chair, and a light blanket draped over me.
Stretching out my stiff limbs, I noticed Mckayla was still sound asleep in her pram. Relief washed over me. Last night, my mother had been a huge help—she'd fed and dressed Mckayla in her pajamas, then stayed with me until McKayla drifted off. Thankfully, Mckayla had slept soundly through the night.
I rose from the sofa, folding the blanket neatly as I yawned. Sleeping on a hospital couch wasn't ideal, but I hadn't wanted to take the bed. After last night, though, I decided that next time, I'd rethink that decision.
