Haylie POV
The coldness of the night surrounded me once again as I found myself back in the spirit world. Silent tears streamed down my face as I stood there, consumed by the ache in my chest.
"Haylie, are you okay?" Mia's voice broke through the stillness.
I turned toward the direction of her voice, my vision blurred by tears. "I saw him," I whispered, my heart heavy. I tried to wipe away the tears, but they kept falling. "I saw the man I love... but he has a daughter now." My voice cracked as a sob escaped, my body trembling under the weight of the revelation.
I was back here again, forgotten once more in this place I despised—the spirit world.
"Oh, Haylie," Mia said softly, stepping closer. She reached out and wrapped her arms around me. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, pulling me into a comforting embrace.
