Haylie POV
After supper with my family, I helped my mother clean up in the kitchen. I always liked this part because it gave us a chance to bond. My mother would share little things with me, and those moments felt special.
When I was finished, I noticed my father sitting in front of the TV, watching cartoons. It was a little surprising to see someone his age enjoying cartoons.
"I didn't know you watched cartoons," I said, sitting down next to him on the sofa.
He smirked. "I know I'm a little old, but I love watching them. They help take my mind off things," he replied.
A smile spread across my face. It seemed I shared more with my father than I had realized.
"Your mother told me that when you were little, you used to love watching cartoons after supper," my father said, glancing at me with a knowing look.
