Haylie POV
This was an entirely new life I had to adjust to, one I never thought I'd experience since I didn't grow up with my parents. They gave me a room in their house—a space of my own, something I need to get used to since I am going to be here a while. It was nothing like my old room back on Earth, but it had its charm.
It was nothing like my old wooden bed back on earth, I had a new bed that was chosen to my taste and made it feel a little more like home. I could even decorate it however I wanted, which was a small comfort in the unfamiliarity of it all.
A lot has changed since I arrived here with my parents. For the first time, I learned about my father—not just as a parent, but as a person. I discovered little things, like how much he loved chocolate ice cream, just like I did.
