Mathew POV
I woke in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat. My body was tense, my heart racing as though warning me of something unseen. Sitting up quickly, my first instinct was to check on Gleo. Relief washed over me when I saw her still fast asleep, undisturbed by my sudden awakening.
I let out a heavy sigh, wiping the dampness from my brow, but the moment was cut short. A voice, insistent and urgent, pushed through the link in my mind. I hesitated briefly before opening it, bracing myself for whatever news awaited.
"Sir Alpha Mathew, you need to come to the gates of Moon Cress immediately!"
The voice was one of my guards, panic lacing every word. I swung my legs out of bed, moving swiftly to the cupboard. "What's going on? Did something happen?" I asked, already grabbing a shirt and pulling it over my sweat-soaked body.
