Chapter 67 - Chapter 67

JC POV

I decided not to follow Klinton and Liam them after we dished up our plates.

The last thing I wanted was to get into a confrontation with Liam right now. It wasn't the right time, especially with Thief Alec here. You don't mess with someone like him. His wolf was legendary—huge, ferocious, and capable of taking down multiple wolves at once.

There was a reason he was called "The Thief" and hailed as the strongest wolf in existence.

With my plate in hand, I wandered away and sat on a wooden log by myself.

I didn't have much of an appetite, so I kept my portions small. Even as I bit into the meat, it tasted bitter.

The tension, the chaos swirling around me—it was all too much. But I needed my strength. I had to keep going, no matter how much it hurt. The memory of Melody pushing Haylie into the water was still fresh in my mind, as vivid as if it had happened moments ago.
