Chapter 1: The Lonely Star
---
The city of Hikagami was a bustling metropolis, known for its technological advancements and wealthy elite. Among its prominent families was the Ryukawa family, a dynasty of immense wealth and power. They controlled industries ranging from real estate to technology, but what they lacked was harmony within their household.
Kai Ryukawa was the youngest son of this empire, born into privilege yet deprived of affection. While his older brother, Haruto, was groomed to be the heir and his father, Daiki, was consumed by his businesses, Kai was left in the shadows. His mother had passed away when he was five, leaving him with a void that no amount of wealth could fill.
---
The Neglected Prodigy
Despite his family's indifference, Kai was remarkably intelligent. At the age of fourteen, he excelled in academics, often ranking first in his prestigious private school. Teachers saw him as a prodigy, but his classmates saw something else entirely—a target.
Kai's reserved nature and lack of social connections made him an easy mark for bullying. His peers envied his intellect and mocked his introverted demeanor. Every day, he endured their cruel pranks, from stolen notebooks to malicious rumors.
"Hey, Ryukawa, think you're too smart for us?" sneered Taro, one of the bullies, as he shoved Kai into a locker.
Kai adjusted his glasses and kept silent, knowing that resistance would only fuel their mockery. His heart ached, but he bottled his pain, retreating into the sanctuary of his mind.

A Cold, Empty Home
After school, Kai returned to the Ryukawa mansion—a sprawling estate with marble floors, towering ceilings, and an eerie silence that echoed through its halls.
Haruto barely acknowledged his younger brother, and Daiki was often away on business trips. When they were home, their interactions with Kai were cold and dismissive.
"Focus on your studies," Daiki would say curtly during their rare dinners together. "At least try to be useful to the family."
Haruto, on the other hand, would smirk and throw veiled insults. "Maybe one day, you'll do something worthy of the Ryukawa name, little brother."
Kai retreated to his room, his only solace being books and the small telescope his mother had given him before her death. He would spend hours gazing at the stars, feeling a connection to the vast, mysterious universe that seemed far kinder than the world he lived in.

The Fateful Night
One night, unable to sleep, Kai decided to take a walk through the forest behind the Ryukawa estate. The forest was vast and dense, a place he often visited to escape the suffocating environment of his home.
The air was crisp, and the sky was unusually clear, revealing a blanket of stars. Kai felt a strange sense of calm as he wandered deeper into the woods, his flashlight casting long shadows on the moss-covered ground.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by a deafening roar—a streak of light tore through the sky, illuminating the forest in a blinding white glow.
Kai shielded his eyes as the object crashed into the ground with a thunderous impact, shaking the earth beneath his feet. When the light faded, he cautiously approached the source of the disturbance.
In the center of a smoldering crater lay a meteor, its surface glowing faintly with an otherworldly white hue. Steam hissed from the surrounding debris, and the air was thick with the scent of burned earth.
As Kai stood frozen, a strange movement caught his eye. From a crack in the meteor, a translucent, white slime oozed out, pulsating with a faint, rhythmic glow.
The slime seemed to move with intent, sliding across the ground with unnatural speed. Kai's curiosity turned to dread as it approached a deer grazing nearby.
The slime latched onto the animal, enveloping it in a cocoon of light. The deer let out a guttural cry as its body convulsed, its eyes turning a ghostly white. Within moments, the transformation was complete—the creature's antlers grew jagged and sharp, its muscles bulged, and an aura of menace radiated from its form.
Kai stumbled backward, his heart pounding. The mutated deer let out a bone-chilling roar, its gaze locking onto Kai.
---
A New Fear
Frozen in fear, Kai watched as the creature took a hesitant step toward him, its monstrous form illuminated by the faint glow of the meteor. Then, as if hearing an unseen command, the creature turned and bolted deeper into the forest, disappearing into the shadows.
Kai remained rooted to the spot, his mind racing. What had he just witnessed? What was that slime, and why had it chosen the deer?
As he made his way back home, the questions gnawed at him. Little did he know, this was only the beginning. The strange meteor and its alien slime would soon upend his life, dragging him into a world of terror, mystery, and power beyond his comprehension.
