Chapter 2 - stars must die to form a nova

Izuku was currently sitting on the now empty and abandoned beach, dirtied by mountains of trash, pondering his situation. The helmet that had granted him those supernatural abilities was sitting next to him.

"Man, can this day get any weirder?" he said with a mental sigh. "I wonder what Mom's going to say, and why did this helmet only come down when I begged Dad?"

"Dad, I need answers. I need an explanation!" Izuku exclaimed in frustration. "Please, Dad, give me something."

Suddenly, Izuku felt something strange beside him as the very weird and mysterious helmet began to glow with a faint blue light. Then, out of the glow, a figure took shape—it was his dad!

Hello, Izuku, my dear boy. If you are seeing this, it means I can no longer act as your guardian in this universe. However, I know you have many questions, and I hope this recording will provide you with the answers.

Let's first address the elephant in the room: the Nova helmet. It can grant you abilities beyond this world, and by wearing it, you will don the mantle of an elite officer of the Nova Corps.

The Nova Corps is a group of peacekeeping civilians in the Milky Way, dedicated to making a difference in various worlds.

Izuku was shocked to learn that not only were there aliens, but they also formed a peacekeeping force in the galaxy, which meant his dad was one too.

I know this may come as a shock to you; however, you now carry this responsibility. Before I go, just know I love you and your mother more than you will ever know. Goodbye, Izuku.

The projection fizzled out the last thing he saw of it was his father's loving smile he looked at the black helmet conflicted

On one hand, this was hopefully not the last thing his father would give to him; on the other hand, it granted him the one thing he needed and the one thing he wanted: the ability to become a hero.

Time skip

A few days had passed, and he was keeping a secret from his mother; however, she was becoming increasingly suspicious of his frequent trips to "clean" Daygaba Beach.

Although he wasn't cleaning the beach, he was testing his newfound abilities. As an analytical person, he dissected everything he could do, which included energy manipulation, energy projection, and telekinesis.

His telekinesis was very hard to control at his current level; he could only lift things weighing up to 10 pounds. Finally, he had super strength.

Which he estimated could reach up to 17 tons if he strained himself. However, even then, he could only safely manage an output of 5 tons.

It had become part of his weekly routine to go to the beach after school to test out his newfound ability, which he had lackluster control over.

On this particular evening, he was testing his energy projection by creating a sphere of energy between his two palms. He then shaped it into a cube and thrust his arms to either side, expanding the cube to form a barrier around him.

After clenching his fists and bringing them to his chest, he shrank the cube barrier back into a small cube. Once again, he thrust his arms to either side, dissipating the barrier.

He then began the process of discovering how complex he could make projections forming various weapons such as swords, knives, daggers, shields, etc

He then unleashed a burst of energy at a pile of trash, resulting in a loud boom. Fortunately, no one was nearby. As he neared the end of his training session, he overheard two hushed voices.

Curious, Izuku quietly approached to observe a young man who seemed to be just a few years older than him.

And, a seven-foot-tall skeleton with blacked-out irises and a pronounced hunchback. He quickly removed his helmet, De transforming from his nova state before walking over.

Hello, it's nice to see other people in this place. It is usually pretty empty," Izuku said with a nervous chuckle. The skeleton man turned to him, clearly surprised, and spoke.

"Well, I never in all my days expected to see another person here. I thought everyone avoided this place like the plague. How rude of me! My name is Yagi Toshinori, and this is my student, Togata Mirio."

"Oh, my name is Izuku Midoriya," Izuku said, still chuckling nervously. "It's nice to meet you.

Yagi furrowed his brow; he could have sworn he had seen this boy before. What was he doing on the beach at a time like this?

"If you don't mind me asking, young man, what are you doing here on the beach?"

Izuku racked his brain for an excuse when the older blonde, Mirio, interjected with an idea.

"Hey, are you also cleaning the beach?" he asked with bubbling curiosity and a hint of nervousness.

Izuku responded, "Yeah, I was actually training my quirk in hopes of passing the U.A. entrance exam."

"Oh, the U.A. entrance exam! My young student here is actually a student at U.A. and is preparing to further his heroics for next year," Mirio said proudly.

Izuku's eyes lit up with joy. An actual U.A. student! Mirio continued, "Yep, that's right! I'm a U.A. student and a future hero. I want to save one million lives!"

"That's amazing," Izuku thought. "I wonder what his quirk is." izuku chated with the two older men for awhile before finally leaving the beach

Although it was nice to see what U.A. students looked like and to receive some tips and insightful advice, he was still grappling with the possibility that his father might be dead on another alien planet.

Now, he was part of an intergalactic spacekeeping force, and it was all too much to handle. How was he going to tell his mother?

Once again, he put on his helmet to fly home. Upon arriving, he lied to his mother about how he was "cleaning" the beach.

He took a shower and lay down on his bed, allowing the day's exhaustion to wash over him.

Elsewhere, on a planet far away, it seemed that his son had finally donned the helmet. It was time for Nova Prime to pay him a visit.
