Chapter 1 - An Interesting Situation

"Strange?" Marinette said witj a curious undertone, her white hair neatly arranged in a bun seemed to glow among this void. Her dark butterfly wings twitch every few seconds.

She touched her face where there was the mark of a dark butterfly on it and then switched to touch the butterfly shaped pendant near her neck. "Nuru,do you know where we are"

Marinette asked the Kwami, Nuru gave Marinette a side glance. "Marinette I…i can't fix yo- i mean i am sorry for doing that to you"

Marinette smiled. "Does it really matter anymore, things were never meant to be, i was never meant to be happy, you were never meant to be free, but here we are now, in the unknown of another unknown"

"Maybe…, i don't know where we are, but i know we are no more in our own Universe, i can't sense the other Miraculous's" Nuru said glancing around the emptiness.

Marinette tapped her chin and then sighed. "Ah~ whatever, i'll just take a nap here, i am tired"

"Marinette i think it isn't good to sleep out in the open of an empty Void" Nuru placed his concerns.

"Maybe you are right, but it's energy consuming to stay awake, i still haven't digested that little Transmission of almost all of your energy, you should be recovering some of it by now even though it left you weakened" Marinette said softly, her eyes glancing at Nuru with a mix of exhaustion and faint amusement. Her wings gave another weak twitch, the faint shimmer of their edges dimming slightly as if reflecting her dwindling energy.

Nuru floated closer, his tiny form trembling slightly. "Marinette, you shouldn't push yourself like this. Your body and mind have been through too much. We don't even know what kind of dimension this is—or if it's safe."

Marinette chuckled lightly, the sound hollow in the vast emptiness surrounding them. "Safe? Is anywhere truly safe for people like us, Nuru? For wielders of power meant to chain or corrupt?"

The Kwami flinched but didn't respond, his tiny wings folding against his form.

Marinette sighed again, this time softer. "Sorry, that was unfair. You never wanted any of this, and neither did I. But… we're here now, and I suppose we should figure out what here is."

"Sorry…" The keami once again apologized to her, but Marinette brushed it off, she wasn't angry at him anymore so to her it doesn't matter if she was permanently Akumatized.

Marinette gave Nuru a soft smile, her pale lips barely curving upwards as she reached out a finger for the little Kwami to land on. His tiny form settled there hesitantly, wings still folded close.

"Nuru, stop apologizing. What's done is done, and… maybe this is better." Her voice wavered slightly on the last word, betraying the weight she carried. "Better than the endless cycle of fighting, losing, hoping, and breaking again."

Nuru lowered his head, his tiny antennae drooping. "But Marinette… you're still you. Even if the butterfly has marked you, your heart hasn't changed."

She let out a breathless laugh, her pale blue eyes glinting faintly in the void's strange, non-light. "That's sweet of you to say, Nuru, but I can't shake the feeling that something fundamental has shifted inside me. Like a string was cut, and now I'm just… floating."

The two sat in silence for a moment, the empty void pressing in around them, almost as if it had ears—listening, waiting.

Marinette's wings twitched again, this time more sharply, causing faint ripples of dark light to scatter outward. She winced but quickly masked it with another smile. "Alright, enough sulking. If we're not in our universe anymore, then there has to be something here. Dimensions don't exist as empty canvases forever."

Nuru nodded slowly. "You're right. But… be careful. I don't have much energy left to protect you if something goes wrong."

"I doubt there's anything threatening here though, but atleast let's try this" As she placed her hand on the void which now suddenly felt like a wall she could tear apart, she didn't hesitate and use her nait to create a thin line which slowly expanded to reveal a brightly colored world.

"W-what's that" Nuru asked curiously.

"Well i just felt a connection to this place, so i manipulated it, so shall we leave?" Marinette asked the Kwami.

Nuru glanced at the portal but then sighed. "Very well"

As he said that, he went back into the Miraculous and Marinette stepped into the portal.

….

It was a boundless darkness, the light could not be seen, the darkness coul not be perceived and the ingenuity of idea was forgotten.

What was this feeling, was it despair, was it regret, no Marinette didn't know what it was, but she had a faint feeling of Melancholy.

[Notice:An otherworlder with strange energy has been summoned]

[Notice:Due to the unknown origins of the creature and thr faint resemblance to the Insector and Fairy race, the Otherworlders body willl begin reconstructing]

[Notice:An object containing a Spiritual entity is currently existing near the Otherworlder, The being shows the energy of a Spiritual being resembling that of #######. Due to the uniqueness of the being, its body cannot be reconstructed, due to that. Evolution is an option, The entity known as a Kwami by the otherworlders memory will evolve]

She wondered what this voice ringing in her head is.

The mechanical voice echoing in Marinette's mind reverberated with a cold detachment, yet it carried an undeniable authority. Her pale blue eyes fluttered open as she stepped fully into the new world, her dark butterfly wings trembling from both exhaustion and the faint pull of foreign energy weaving through her very being.

"Nuru… did you hear that?" she whispered softly, her voice trembling slightly as her grip tightened around the butterfly-shaped pendant hanging from her neck.

The pendant pulsed faintly as Nuru stirred within, his voice emerging as a faint echo. "I… I heard it. Marinette, something is happening. I can feel it… something is changing."

Marinette's gaze shifted to her hands as she felt an odd sensation—her body, her being—it was as if threads of her existence were being unwoven and rewoven simultaneously. Her wings shimmered and flickered, faint traces of iridescence bleeding into their dark edges.

The voice returned, colder and more commanding this time:

[Reconstruction of the Otherworlder's body has begun. The process will adapt to match the balance of this world. Error detected: Existing anomaly in the subject prevents full integration. Initiating stabilization protocol…]

Marinette winced as a sharp pain jolted through her chest, her hand clutching the pendant instinctively. "What… is happening to me?"

[Entity designated 'Kwami' has met conditions for forced evolution. Beginning transformation…]

Inside the pendant, Nuru let out a sharp cry, his form flickering as he was enveloped in a cocoon of radiant, violet energy. Marinette could feel him—his presence becoming more than what he was before, expanding, evolving.

"Nuru!" Marinette gasped, her wings spreading instinctively as a pulse of her own energy surged outward, pushing against the oppressive weight of this new world's laws.

The air around her shimmered with a faint glow as cracks of light formed beneath her feet, like fractured glass. Slowly, the overwhelming pressure eased, and the mechanical voice spoke once more:

[Reconstruction and evolution complete. Entity status: Stabilized.]

The cocoon of light encasing Nuru shattered, and the Kwami re-emerged, but he was no longer the same. His form was larger, his dark wings now etched with faint glowing patterns of violet and silver. His antennae were longer, his eyes sharper, holding an ancient wisdom that hadn't been there before.

[You have Received the Unique Skill [Melancholy]. You have received the Unique Skill [Corruption] You have received the unique skill [Void]]

Marinette heard a cacophony of voices.

Nuru returned back to the pendant. The voices continued for a long while unti it finally stopped after saying a one last thing.

[Welcome to the Cardinal world Tensura. Designation: Otherworlder recognized. Race classification: Unknown variant—Fairy/Insector Hybrid-Akuma. Title granted: "Hollowed Commandment" Spiritual Partner classification: Ascended Kwami.]

"W-what?" Marinette was slightly taken aback, after opening a portal feom the void, it became confusing as she is still consumed by the darkness.

"Uhm, Strange Voice…can you tell me where i am" She asked scratching her head in confusion.

[Notice: You are in another world. I am the voice of this world. Though i am curious to uncover which world you originated from. i do not feel it is the appropriate moment Marinette]

"Okay…so why am in this dark abyss, i just previously got out of one so it really isn't fun to be thrusted into another one" She said with exasperation.

[Notice:Very well, i shall then place you in a place where you can reorganize yourself]

The next thing she knew Marinette was face to face with…a fairy. "Eh"

It was Ramiris

Marinette blinked, her pale blue eyes adjusting to the sudden shift in scenery. The suffocating void was gone, replaced by a grand crystalline chamber illuminated by a soft golden light. Floating before her was a small, mischievous-looking fairy with bright golden hair, emerald green eyes, and translucent wings that shimmered like stained glass.

"Eh?" Marinette repeated, her dark butterfly wings twitching as her brain scrambled to process the situation.

Ramiris tilted her head, her tiny hands planted firmly on her hips. "Well, well, well! What do we have here? Another strange visitor popping into my labyrinth unannounced! And with such unique energy, too. You're practically dripping with weird magic. Oh! And your wings are gorgeous!"

Marinette gave a weak chuckle, still trying to ground herself in this bizarre new reality. "Uh… thank you? I think? And… who are you exactly?"

Ramiris gasped dramatically, clutching her tiny chest. "Who am I?! You don't know the Great Ramiris, one of the Ten Demon Lords and Guardian of the Labyrinth? Honestly, do they not teach fairy etiquette in whatever void you crawled out of?"

Marinette's tired expression softened into a faint smile. "I suppose… I missed that lesson."

Ramiris hovered closer, her bright emerald eyes narrowing with curiosity. "You're… not quite a fairy, not quite an insect, and not entirely… human either. And that pendant—there's something alive in there, isn't there?"

Marinette touched the pendant instinctively, feeling Nuru's presence resting within. He was still there, stable but silent, likely recovering from his forced evolution.

"Yes," she replied softly. "His name is Nuru. He's… a companion of sorts."

Ramiris's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "Oh-ho! A sentient magical companion? Now that is something special. You must be someone very important—or very unlucky—to have ended up here in such a state."

Marinette's faint smile faltered as she glanced down at her hands. The dark shimmer of her butterfly wings, the faint pulse of unfamiliar energy coursing through her veins, and the hollow ache in her chest—it all felt foreign and heavy.

"I think… unlucky would be the better word," she admitted quietly.

Ramiris paused, her usual light-hearted demeanor softening slightly as she floated closer. "Hey now, chin up. You're here, aren't you? And if you're here, that means you survived whatever tossed you into that void. That's gotta count for something."

Marinette looked up at the little fairy and nodded faintly. "You're right. I survived."

Ramiris clapped her hands together, her cheerful grin returning. "That's the spirit! Now then, let's figure out what to do with you. You're brimming with weird energy, your little pendant buddy is probably recovering,"

"Uhm yeah…" Marinette replied slightly intrigued by the small fairy.
