Chapter 30 - Luminous Moonblade

Su Yan found his mind back within the Wisp Realm, his desires unveiled. A number of wisps surged to his attention, pulsing in tantalizing colors. He examined each one at surface level, finding each more promising than the last.

His tour of wisps ended in no time, having found two techniques that were curated for his current needs. Although there were a number of methods present, some that he found ludicrous to the extreme—I mean, splitting heaven into two? Piercing stars?—he instead chose two that he could currently use. No doubt those earth-rendering methods were powerful, but given his current level of cultivation, Su Yan knew it would only serve to waste his time.

Having made his choices, he then looked for another method that would suit Xie Lian. She had expressed her interest in sword arts, and Su Yan had already resolved to buy her one.

As it turned out, he did find one for her. It was even better than his in terms of power, but his sword art was more focused on versatility and growth.

The sword art was called Luminous Moonblade Sword Art. There were a total of ten stages to it, but he doubted Xie Lian could deploy the very stage first called 'Moonlit Touch.' Surprisingly, this sword art came with its own supplementary cultivation art that was more focused on attribute cultivation. Needless to say, the attribute it cultivated was none other than Lunar.

He opened his eyes and released a breath of air. Xie Lian had been working on packing supplies that he had brought yesterday in case of emergency departure. The expenditure had wilted his savings from the original 97 Qi stones to 72 Qi stones.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

Xie Lian lifted the bag in her hand and offered a smile. "As ready as can be."

"Good, then let me share this utility art with you."

Knowing what was coming, she tossed the bag aside and moved into his personal space. Su Yan smiled at the gesture and leaned his head down, capturing her tantalizing lips with his own.

As their spirit rang in harmony, a bond was strengthened, having already been established prior to their dual cultivation. As he felt her mind connect with his, Su Yan pushed the Luminous Moonblade Sword Art in its entirety and watched as the wisp was dislodged and dragged into her mental realm.

Xie Lian staggered slightly, holding her head and feeling the information bloom into existence. As she read through the method, her eyes shone brightly, and she embraced Su Yan tightly. "This is awesome. Thanks."

He smiled at that and found happiness in her gratification.

"Your hair has turned even more lighter." She remarked, running her hand through several strands.

After two weeks of continuous cultivation, his physique had undergone startling changes. His aura had grown sharper, his appearance handsome. Consequently, his hair had grown lighter still, bordering on ash gray. Even his eyes had experienced a discoloration, subsuming flecks of purple that were hard to notice at first glance, but if one looked closer, they would find these crystalline specks all around his iris.

Xie Lian had experienced a similar development with her hair growing long and lustrous. Her eyes had a mystical shine to them, drawing one's breath away. Even more startling were the changes to her body. Before, her physique had been normal if beautiful, but now she supported a willowy waist and wider hips. Her breasts had grown in volume, but not overly so.

Su Yan welcomed the changes with the grace of a farmer waiting for springtime. The more his appearance changed, the harder it would be for the Yang clan to find him.

"And you're growing prettier by the second." After drawing a smile with his praise, Su Yan said, "We should depart now, lest we arrive when the feast is over."

The two left the place and decided to trek on foot. Once they were a certain distance away, he grinned at Xie Lian and said, "Well, time to test our humping gains."

Xie Lian snorted at his bawdy remark and pulled her Qi to her attention. Recalling the sword technique Su Yan had transmitted to her, she read through the section that focused on movement.

As expected of a supreme utility art. Despite focusing on sword and its related field, it also detailed the movement art. It was considerably worse than a method that was solely focused on movement, but that was when compared to methods that rogue cultivators used.

Regardless of her lacking experience, she could still deploy a crude version of the art, and that was enough.

As Qi took shape in her body, a moonlit glow encased her legs and feet. She bent her posture slightly, like a predator ready to pounce on its prey, and pushed. Her figure zoomed past the bushes, leaving Su Yan in the dust.

He shook his head and smiled. "Can't be outdone by someone with barely half a month's cultivation..."

His smile widened into a grin, and his own sword technique came into focus.

Prime Nova Sword Art was as strong as its user. Really, there was no other way of putting it. It was like an empty glass that took whatever you poured into it. That's why it could also scale infinitely.

The basic principle of the technique was this: if your attack is weak, then it's weak; if your attack is strong, then it's strong. To understand that fact, one must understand how a utility art functioned.

A utility art, or even a martial art, drew its users potential, that even at lower stages, it could exert 110%. But what about beyond that? That stage didn't exist.

But Prime Nova Sword Art was different, as it would always only employ 100% of its user.

Normal utility art would always limit itself to a certain factor, but this utility art worked as its user.

For anyone, this sword art would prove a challenge and provide marginal benefits. For Su Yan, whose cultivation base exceeded the norm, it could bring out his true power.

As his enhanced Qi was pulled and woven through principles of Prime Nova Sword Art, a gale erupted around his body. The very first signs of his Qi adapting the properties of the Wind Element thanks to his Ninefold Genesis Ascension Art.

With a simple exhale, Su Yan blasted forth.
