Chapter 27 - Blood!

Nightmare. This is just a nightmare. A long, indescribable nightmare that brings overwhelming fear. When waking up, all people wish is to never experience it again in this harsh life.

"PRESIDENT! PRESIDENT, WAKE UP!!!"

"BEAT HIM TO DEATH! YES, KEEP HITTING HIM!!!"

I opened my eyes. Everything was still blurry. My head was spinning, my limbs numb. I was lying on the cold stone ground, my back aching as if someone had slammed me down hard. As my vision gradually became clearer, I felt drops of liquid falling onto my face. So pungent! I wiped my cheek and held up my hand. Blood! I jerked up, shuddering.

Everything became sharper. Owl—my teammate—was being crushed under the massive body of that brute. A raging bull, the most fearsome enemy we had ever faced. Owl struggled to fight back, but every ten seconds, another punch smashed into his face. He covered his head, bracing himself against the pain. I clenched my fists. He was buying time for me to wake up. He was gambling his life for me!

I roared and charged at the beast. In my fury, I swung a punch straight at him. But he reacted too fast, tilting his head just enough to dodge my attack. I lost balance, stumbling forward. A punch slammed into my head. But strangely, the pain wasn't as intense as I expected. Just a brief numbness. He frowned, shaking his fist as if he had hit a brick wall. Seizing the chance, I took a deep breath, steadying my stance.

We stood facing each other, eyes locked. The air grew thick with tension. He moved lightly, studying me. I mirrored his steps, refusing to show an opening. An invisible circle formed as we circled each other, observing, calculating through thirty seconds of nerve-wracking silence.

Suddenly, he lunged!

I immediately spun, launching a roundhouse kick with my right leg, aiming straight for his left side. "WHACK!" A perfect hit! His face twisted in pain. But I had forgotten one crucial thing—I had to pull my leg back instantly!

"SNAP!"

He grabbed my leg. I was nothing more than a ragdoll as he slammed me hard into the ground. My skin tore open, blood soaking my arm. But I couldn't stop! I forced myself up immediately.

He rushed forward, throwing a left hook. I knew this move! I quickly stepped back, catching him off guard. In that fleeting moment, I lunged forward, driving my fist straight into his nose.

"CRACK!"

Blood gushed from his nostrils. I smirked, panting, "Familiar, huh? Your blood smelled just like this the other day."

But he didn't flinch. He stayed calm, moving with slow, calculated steps. I observed him carefully... but before I could react, he unleashed three consecutive hooks! "WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!" My jaw felt like it was about to shatter. My teeth clenched tight, blood trickling from my lips.

My body trembled violently.

Seeing this, he didn't hesitate, preparing to throw his final, decisive punch!

"CRACK!"

I raised my arm to block, but the impact was too strong. My entire body staggered. Blood dripped onto the ground. My vision blurred... I had to do something! If this continued, both Owl and I would lose!

And then—I saw it. He had left too many openings!

I shouted, "OWL! BEHIND HIM!!!"

He flinched, instinctively glancing back.

HA! GOT HIM!

I lunged forward, landing two straight punches! "BAM! BAM!" Then I spun, delivering a devastating right hook!

"THUD!!!"

The punch struck his temple dead-on! He stumbled back, dazed, clutching his head. I didn't waste the opportunity. I charged in, unleashing a flurry of attacks. But then... he caught me! His grip was so strong I could hear my bones creaking.

"PRESIDENT!!!"

Owl rushed forward, using all his strength to shove him from behind!

The brute lost his footing, crashing onto the hard stone! Owl immediately pinned him down. This was our only chance!

I jumped onto him, raining down punches! "BAM! BAM! BAM!" Blood splattered everywhere. He struggled, shielding his face, but I left him no escape. This punch was for Owl. The next one—for justice. And the rest… to finish him!

With each strike, he grew weaker. Blood pooled beneath him. Finally, he gasped, voice trembling, "I'm sorry... spare me..."

I froze, staring up at the sky. Silence. A single drop of dew fell from a leaf onto my shoulder.

I raised my fist high. "This is the last gift I'll give you."

"BAM!"

Everything went silent.

I gasped for breath, looking down at my bloodied hands.

Then, I roared, declaring to the world:

"WE WON!!!"
