Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: True Beginning

It has been two weeks since we met Jiraiya that day. Not much has happened since then, but that will probably change today.

"Jiraiya-sensei, when are we going to get a real mission?" Kushina complained as they finished painting one of the villagers' fences. They were heading to the Hokage's office for another mission.

Jiraiya looked back at his students in deep thought. He knew they were ready for combat, but they had not killed yet.

"Okay, fine, I'll see if I can get us a C-ranked mission."

"Yes!" Kushina jumped with excitement. Both Minato and Casper also smiled—they had been waiting for this.

Casper was thinking about their upcoming mission. Since this was the Naruto world, he was sure something would go wrong. He wasn't scared; in fact, he was very confident in his strength. Right now, except for maybe the old Madara Uchiha hiding in the shadows of the shinobi world, no one was his match.

Not only that, but his master was Jiraiya—not many people were on his level at this point in time. He might even have been stronger than what was shown in the anime.

Two Weeks Ago

"Okay, you all, it's time to see whether you are cut out to be genin."

Everyone was silent as they immediately realized what this meant.

"So the graduation exam is not the only test we need to pass to become genin," Minato said in a calm tone. All of them were smart enough to realize this, so there was no fuss.

"What's the test?" Casper asked, already having an idea of what it could be.

The chime of a bell gave him his answer.

"Well, it's actually pretty simple. All you have to do is get one of these bells, and then you will be full-fledged genin," Jiraiya said calmly.

Minato and Casper immediately noticed that there were only two bells.

"Jiraiya-sensei, why are there only two bells?" Kushina asked, a mix of curiosity and trepidation in her voice.

Jiraiya smiled and said, "Well, that's because only two of you can pass."

Kushina and Minato were shocked when they heard this. Casper, already knowing what the test was truly about, immediately pulled Kushina and Minato to the side.

"Guys, I know you're scared, but let's get the bells first before we figure out the rest."

Minato and Kushina, still in shock, listened to Casper's words. They trusted him and knew how strong he was—at least, what he had shown them.

"Okay!" both Minato and Kushina shouted. They immediately got into a stance to fight.

"Hmm, you're not going to run?" Jiraiya smirked.

Casper scoffed. "There's no point. You're a Sannin."

"Oh, you know who I am—" Before Jiraiya could finish, Minato and Casper body flickered in front of him.

Jiraiya was shocked at their speed as Casper reached him first. Immediately, a foot was in front of Jiraiya's face. His eyes widened as he ducked the kick and tried to sweep Casper off balance. But as he ducked, a kunai was already coming at him at extremely fast speeds, forcing him to jump back.

Not giving him a break, Kushina—already prepared—had buried her chains deep underground.

So, when Jiraiya was about to land, three golden chains shot out, trying to grab him. The thought of killing had not crossed her mind yet. Jiraiya, noticing this, easily dodged the chains. However, this gave Casper time to close in on him.

Jiraiya had already stopped underestimating his students. He jumped back and spewed a massive Fireball Jutsu.

Jiraiya had noticed that only Casper could keep up with him physically. Even though he wasn't using any chakra, this was still a shocking realization.

Casper spat out a larger Waterball that canceled out the fireball, creating mist.

"Kushina, Minato—stay back. Only come in when you see an opening. Make sure to only talk to me through our code," Casper shouted through the mist.

Both Kushina and Minato jumped into the trees and hid. They had complete confidence in Casper's skills, though they were still worried—the person he was fighting was much stronger than a jonin.

Kushina took out her tanto and focused on her Mind's Eye. She wasn't very proficient, but she could still sense fairly well within a 600-meter range. For a ninja, that wasn't much, but it was enough for this.

Minato, on the other hand, had a much wider sensing range than Kushina, but his long-distance accuracy wasn't as good as hers. Still, that didn't matter in this battle.

Casper could clearly see and hear everything happening around him. Now, he didn't have to worry about his friends. Lightning started to crackle around him as he activated Godspeed. He had finally been able to recreate Killua's ability after unlocking the Batman template.

Jiraiya couldn't see Casper, but his intuition was screaming at him. Immediately, a puffing sound was heard as a shadow clone was destroyed. All that was left was Casper, his hair flowing and lightning crackling around his body.

Jiraiya had used the Transparent Escape technique and replaced himself with a shadow clone. Thinking Casper couldn't sense him, he used Hair Needle Senbon to spew out thin, sharp needles. Making sure not to aim at any vital spots, he thought the fight was over.

As the senbon were about to hit Casper, a blue flash erupted—he disappeared again.

Jiraiya, realizing Casper had vanished, immediately used his famous Needle Jizo Jutsu. His hair covered him, spiking out and hardening.

Before he could react, a massive force slammed into him. It was almost on the level of Tsunade's punch that had nearly killed him.

A loud bang echoed as the tree he was on exploded. Jiraiya was sent flying a kilometer away as a shockwave spread from the impact. Lightning surged through his body, burning him slightly and numbing his limbs. His hair returned to normal as he coughed up some blood.

Regaining his bearings, he was immediately bombarded with multiple kicks, stunning him. Before he could react, a pressurized wave sent him flying again.

In mid-air, Jiraiya finally managed to get his footing. He was shocked at what was happening. He attempted to form hand seals for a Water Gun Jutsu, but golden chains shot out of the trees—Kushina had noticed he wasn't paying attention to her anymore.

Though caught off guard, he was still able to cancel his jutsu and summon a medium-sized toad.

Kushina's chains were too slow for someone like Jiraiya, and the toad jumped off one of them to land safely on the ground.

Jiraiya barely had time to breathe before the sound of clashing metal rang out. He turned, surprised, to see Minato behind him, a blade in hand. Minato had tried to slash at him, but the attack barely left a mark.

Casper analyzed the battle between Minato, Kushina, and Jiraiya. He could end it instantly, but he wanted to see how strong his friends were. He had created techniques tailored to each of them, but he needed to see their strengths and weaknesses.

Jiraiya finally recovered after fighting off Minato and Kushina. They were strong for their age, but compared to him, they were like children fighting a seasoned warrior.

A shiver ran down Jiraiya's spine as he sensed a massive chakra surge.

Before he could react, Casper's voice rang out:

"It's over, Jiraiya-sensei. I won."

Jiraiya looked down and saw both bells missing.

Minato and Kushina jumped out of hiding, smiling in victory.

Jiraiya, stunned, tried to process what had just happened. Hiding his shock, he continued the test.

Casper, knowing the true purpose of the test, tossed the bells to Minato and Kushina.

"Make sure to be great ninja, guys. I'll catch up soon."

Minato and Kushina threw the bells back at Jiraiya.

"We won't sacrifice our friend," they said in unison.

Jiraiya smiled.

"You all pass."

Sorry if it's weird in anyways but I asked ChatGPT to fix my grammar.
