Chapter 3 - The First Collision

The glow of screens illuminated the faces of the players, creating an atmosphere of focused intensity where everything hinged on strategies, reactions, and teamwork. The first day of the World Invitational Tournament was in full swing, and chaos reigned on the stage. Everyone was preparing for critical matches, and the tension was almost palpable. This tournament was much more than just a game—it was a moment of truth for every member of the team.

Liu Cheng stood in his spot in the training area, lifting his eyes from his monitor and surveying his surroundings. His team was situated in a high-tech space, everything was in perfect order, but beneath the surface, it was clear that each member carried their own pressure.

"Don't get carried away by the surroundings," said Captain Shen Hao, his words carrying a weight that the entire team took seriously. "Remember who you are. If you forget that, we lose before we even start."

Liu Cheng simply nodded, feeling like the words sounded like a mantra he had repeated day after day. His gaze landed back on the screen, but he couldn't shake thoughts of the challenges ahead. Hours of preparation had passed, and now everything was real—the time had come for the first encounter with the opponents.

The first team they were set to face was a team from South Korea, known for their aggressive strategies and incredible coordination. To withstand the pressure, Liu Cheng occasionally returned to strategies he had worked out in the previous days. They had to minimize room for error because the smallest wrong move could mean defeat.

"Move towards the north," Liu Cheng instructed. "We need speed, not just power."

However, as they moved toward the enemy base, an unexpected turn of events unfolded. New enemy avatars appeared from the edge of the map, completely hidden from all previous analyses. The Chinese team fell into a trap, and the reaction was immediate.

"What?!" Liu Cheng exclaimed, looking at the screen where new enemy avatars appeared as smoothly as they had been anticipated. It was a tactic they had never foreseen—hiding in the most unusual corner of the map, setting up an ambush that no analysis could predict.

Yu Feng raised his hands towards his screen. "Nothing! Nothing can stop me!" However, they couldn't attack because they were surrounded from all sides.

"You have to retreat!" Liu Cheng yelled, without hesitation. "Stop attacking and retreat immediately!"

He had recognized the critical situation, analyzing not only the team's movements but also the micro-dynamics among the opponents. At that moment, they had to reorganize, and Liu Cheng made fast and precise decisions.

After a few moments, the opponents fell into Liu Cheng's trap. The Chinese team launched a counterattack.

"Now! Now it's our chance!" Liu Cheng shouted. He used every resource at that moment, and Yu Feng finally got the chance to make his big move, letting go of any doubt that had been present before.

The match ended within minutes, but those moments had given clarity—the way it started, everyone had relied on Liu Cheng's strategies. He had steered them to make the right decision under the highest pressures.

The Match Begins

"Three... Two... One... Start!" a voice from the speakers announced the start of the match, and the whole space was filled with the sound of tapping, tense breaths, and decisive commands. The avatars of the Chinese team immediately moved into their positions, while screens in the foreground began displaying details about the opponents.

Liu Cheng controlled the map from above, leading the team towards the right side of the arena, where he knew the opponents would set up their strongest defensive positions.

"Move towards the north," he said. "We need speed, not just power."

But just as they were advancing towards the enemy base, an unexpected turn of events took place. A new set of enemy avatars suddenly appeared from the corners of the map, catching the Chinese team off-guard. The reaction was instantaneous.

"What?!" Liu Cheng exclaimed, looking at the screen. The enemy avatars emerged with a fluidity that they hadn't anticipated. It was a tactic that none of their analyses had predicted—their opponents were hiding in the most unusual corner of the map, setting up an ambush that no analysis had accounted for.

Yu Feng raised his hands towards his screen. "Nothing! Nothing can stop me!" However, they couldn't attack because they were surrounded from all sides.

"You have to retreat!" Liu Cheng yelled, without hesitation. "Stop attacking and retreat immediately!"

He recognized the critical situation, analyzing not only the team's movements but also the micro-dynamics among the opponents. At that moment, they had to reorganize, and Liu Cheng made fast and precise decisions.

Unexpected Twist

As they were preparing for the next match, Liu Cheng noticed something strange. On his screen, it displayed an "unknown source." It was a new type of opponent that connected to the system in an unexpected way, despite the protocols that ensured system security.

"What is this?" one of the team members whispered.

"Someone's trying to hack us," Liu Cheng noticed, recognizing the signal from the other side. Suddenly, it became clear that it wasn't just the match that was dangerous, but also technological threats that were coming from every direction.

Shen Hao reacted immediately, ordering everyone to disconnect from computers and to connect everything through secure lines. But then another unexpected turn took place. A mysterious avatar appeared on the screen and challenged them, not just the opposing teams, but their entire plans. The avatar, as it stood before the screens, began to speak.

"I think you forgot about me," the mysterious voice said, while the avatar underneath moved into a different position.

It was clear that this was more than just a simple hack—this opponent knew too much about everything they had been doing. Although Liu Cheng knew they had to stay calm, internal tension didn't allow him to relax.

"We need to find out who this is, immediately," Liu Cheng muttered, while the entire team became united at that moment—they realized that this was much bigger than they could have anticipated.

"Regardless of anything," said Shen Hao, his voice as firm as a rock, "we have to keep playing."

Liu Cheng took a deep breath, faced with the unknown opponent. Team spirit was the most important thing, but this unexpected threat had shown just one thing—this would not just be a tournament, but a battle that stretched far beyond the screens.
