Chapter 7 - Ghost Step

"Last week, this Altai actually managed to disable Besita directly!" Alton said excitedly, with obvious excitement on his face.

"Besita was the boxing champion for three consecutive weeks. I heard that he's still lying in the treatment pod." There was a hint of schadenfreude in his tone."We missed that wonderful fight last week. No matter what, we must see with our own eyes how powerful Altai is today!"

"Really?" Reed couldn't quite believe it and subconsciously glanced at Alton.

"That's what I heard. As for whether it's true or not, who cares! Anyway, now everyone is more concerned about how many weeks the new boxing champion Altai can hold onto his throne!" Alton said with a nonchalant smile.

Reed frowned.

Although the treatment pods outside were not as good as the one he had used before, Besita had been the boxing champion three times in a row, so he shouldn't be short of money!

The treatment pod he used probably wouldn't be too bad either.

However, he hadn't recovered after lying in the treatment pod for a week, which showed that Besita was seriously injured.

In the memories of the original owner, Besita was not only tall and had astonishing strength, but he was also a cyborg.

Just one punch from him could generate an impact of at least 800 pounds. Even if facing solid steel, he probably could punch through it easily.

Since Altai could"disable" such a fierce fighter, he was clearly no ordinary person.

Reed looked at Alton thoughtfully, then casually picked up the red wine glass on the table and took a sip.

"Pfft!" He suddenly spat out the wine, his face full of disgust."What is this? It's so bitter and astringent!"

Alton was startled and quickly handed over a handkerchief."Are you okay?"

Reed casually picked up a bottle of water and rinsed his mouth quickly. He didn't stop until he had drunk the whole bottle of water to get rid of that strange taste. He muttered in a low voice,"Next time you dare to serve this kind of wine, I'll have someone pour waste oil down your throat!"

"Is it that bad? Could someone have swapped it?" Then Alton picked up the red wine he had just drunk from and took a sip.

"Isn't it always like this? Last time you said you liked it, so I deliberately asked someone to save it for you!" Alton had a look of grievance on his face.

"Er..."

Alright, he did remember this incident in his mind.

However, it was the original owner's fault, and he wasn't going to take the blame for it.

He couldn't believe that the wine in such an advanced world tasted so bad.

"Don't let this stuff show up in front of me again, okay?" Reed said in an annoyed tone.

Alton nodded repeatedly in agreement.

Seeing Reed's disgusted look, he quickly called the waiter to take the red wine away!

The two of them didn't say anything more and turned their gazes back to the boxing ring.

With the end of the last match, the audience around began to gather towards the center of the boxing arena.

The air was filled with an atmosphere that was both oppressive and exciting. Everyone seemed to be looking forward to the upcoming heavyweight boxing champion - Altai.

Suddenly, the lights in the venue went dim, and the entire space was plunged into brief darkness. Only the lights on the central boxing ring were dazzling and intense, like a lone star in the darkness.

At this moment, the host's voice rang out throughout the entire venue, full of power and excitement:"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the weekly boxing championship!"

Before the words had even faded away, the audience below immediately burst into thunderous applause and cheers. The atmosphere in the entire boxing arena was instantly ignited, with waves of heat rolling in. It seemed that the heart of every audience member was beating violently to the rhythm of this round of applause.

"Next, let's welcome with the warmest applause the boxing champion of last week - Altai!"

The dynamic rhythm of the music started to play, and Altai's figure slowly emerged at the end of the stage.

The music and the audience's applause intertwined into a frenzy, surging towards him like an irresistible torrent.

Altai was not old, looking less than twenty years old. He was dressed in a simple sports vest and long trousers. His muscles were taut and his body lines were well-defined, exuding a natural fighting aura.

His hair was short and neatly cut in a crew cut, making him look neat and efficient. His eyes were cold, as if nothing could shake his determination.

Although his build seemed rather slender compared to those huge boxers, one could still sense a formidable force from his taut muscles and firm steps.

Reed estimated Altai's approximate height. He was about 1.8 meters tall, and it didn't look like his weight exceeded 150 pounds.

Compared to those giant boxers, his physique was undoubtedly on the slender side.

However, this didn't make the audience look down on him. Instead, some people showed expectant looks in their eyes - everyone knew that Altai's victories had never relied on his physique but on his powerful ability to turn the tables in desperate situations.

Altai walked slowly to the front of the boxing ring and stopped. His eyes scanned around as if he was enjoying the frenzy and applause from the whole venue. There wasn't a trace of a smile on his face. His eyes were cold and determined, as if the whole world had nothing to do with him at this moment.

Reed's gaze fell on Altai's hands that were tightly wrapped with bandages.

His eyes flickered slightly, and a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he murmured,"This guy is quite clever."

Although the boxing arena had a rule that weapons were not allowed, those tightly wound bandages were hard enough and could be used as hammers.

Obviously, Altai was no reckless fool!

"Now, let's welcome our first challenger - Kunkana!"

As the host's passionate voice rang out, another burst of enthusiastic cheers erupted throughout the venue.

A bald and burly man who was two meters tall walked slowly towards the boxing ring, and the atmosphere in the entire venue instantly became even hotter.

Kunkana's build was as huge as a small mountain. His muscles bulged, and every step he took carried a sense of shocking power.

It seemed that he alone could be equivalent to two Altai in size.

However, the contest on the boxing ring was not just a comparison of physiques. Skills and speed were the keys to determining the winner.

Just as Kunkana took his position, the referee's whistle broke the tense air, and the match officially began.

Kunkana made the first move. He charged like a wild bull, relying on his size advantage and swinging his thick arms. His powerful fists, accompanied by the whistling sound of the wind, smashed towards Altai violently.

However, Altai's movements were nimble, like willow catkins in the wind. His steps changed rapidly at his feet, dodging to the left and right.

Kunkana's fists repeatedly missed their target, only hitting Altai's afterimages.

Seizing the gap after Kunkana threw his punches, Altai, like a leopard on a surprise attack, took a quick step forward and got close. His fists rained down on Kunkana's chest and abdomen like a shower. But Kunkana had thick skin and tough flesh and endured the offensive. With a roar, he wrapped his arms around Altai, trying to throw him down with brute force.

Altai exerted strength from his waist and abdomen and broke free. Immediately, he jumped high and delivered a flying knee to Kunkana's chin. Kunkana tilted his head back to avoid it. Altai took advantage of the momentum to land on the ground and then swept out with a low kick. Kunkana lost his balance and staggered backward.

Altai pressed on with his victory and launched a series of fierce and powerful combination punches, each punch landing solidly.

Reed could see clearly that Altai's punches didn't simply hit Kunkana's body but landed precisely on the acupoints that would cause pain with just a little force.

It seemed that this guy knew about human acupoints!

Reed narrowed his eyes slightly. If he wasn't mistaken, the steps Altai used when moving just now were very similar to the ancient martial art"Ghost Step" that he had learned in his previous life.

"This Altai is quite interesting!"

Reed couldn't help sitting up straight.
