CHAPTER 4
"Rise and shine dumbass."
Lena let out a groan, squeezing her face in a grimace when peeks of sunlight disturbed her sleep. A stinging ache quickly spread across her skull, making her groan even louder.
" Oh, God! Lena I've warned you to stop drinking too much." Lena grasped her hair and sat up, only to discover her best friend's fuzzy form standing by the window, hands on her waist and scowling.
" This is Saturday. Why did you wake me up so early?" Lena tossed her head backward in pain.
Not only did her head hurt, but so did her breasts and the organ between her legs.
" How am I here? I thought I was at the club last night?"
Lena got no response from Abby. Her face wrinkled as she glanced at Abby.
" What are you now? Silent Sam?"
Abby was the chatty type especially anytime she had sex with a guy or found dirt against bitches. Lena remembered clearly Abby telling her that she was going to take a guy with Auburn-coloured hair who was ogling her from over the bar table, to one of the club rooms. Tie him to the wall and dominate him.
She had expected to be suffering from severe headaches listening to Abby rant about it.
Abby crossed her arm around her chest. "I busted all Blake's BMW tires."
Lena blinked, her mouth hanging loose. " You, what!"
Abby sighed and sat next to Lena. Resting her back on the blue star-wars wallpapered wall as she muttered, " He's such a grown-ass bitch. The stupid dude— I don't give a damn if insulting him offended you, so I'm not apologizing."
Abby threw out a hand. " Imagine the asshole barked at me last night when I brought you home. He said a lot of nasty things Len. He said you had no right to have sex with another guy because…" her face morphed into an ugly expression as she imitated Drake. " Even though I cheated on Lena, she has no right to do the same since we are going to be husband and wife!"
Lena released a breath and hid her face in her palm.
" Just get me some painkillers, please; my head is hurting so much."
" Lena—"
" Please, Abby, I don't want to talk about it. I know you'd tell me I told you so and—"
" That's not my point babe."
Lena glared at her. Abby's eyes were glistening. Lena forced a phony laugh and averted her gaze.
She didn't want to cry, but seeing her ever-so-tough friend about to break down because of her, she couldn't control it.
" Busting his tires won't change anything," Lena remarked in a trembling voice.
Abby wrapped her arms around her, hugging her from the side.
" You deserve so much better than Drake, Len. He will hurt you if you both get married. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but he never loved you; he's only with you because of your money."
Lena stared at the ceiling, attempting to keep her tears from falling.
" You don't understand."
Abby let out a dejected sigh and ran her fingers over Lena's dark lower-back-length hair.
You could put food in a child's mouth but you can't force the child to swallow it. Abby had tried to knock senses into Lena countless times but to no avail; now, look where it had gotten her.
Oh, how much she wanted to punch Drake in the face right now.
" You know, this is the reason I called you a dumbass. You made me cry." Abby pouted.
Lena laughed with tears sparkling in her eyes. Abby always knew the right things to say to make her laugh. That was how they ended up being friends in college. Lena was being body-shamed by a lecturer whose face had happened to be detested by Abby. Abby stood up for Lena in the ridiculous way possible that, made both Lena, the lecturer himself, and the entire student who witnessed her comedic show-off burst into laughter.
" So, tell me. How was it?" Abby had a lighthearted demeanor now.
She flexed her eyebrows teasingly.
" How was what?" Lena dragged herself off the bed and headed for the bathroom.
Abby followed her, grinning mischievously. She could not help but notice Lena's unusual walking style.
" You know, banging one of Josh's relatives."
Lena pulled to a halt and looked at Abby abruptly with shock written all over her face. A slight blush spread across her cheeks when she recalled the blurry image of the stranger's body against hers. He wasn't gentle while thrusting into her, almost like he was punishing her, but she enjoyed every bit of it. But, she felt a huge relief in her knowing she'd never see the stranger again, especially after the embarrassing things she had said to him whilst they made love.
" What are you talking about?"
Abby rolled her eyes. " Oh come on, don't pretend like you didn't fuck Asher Josh. It seemed like you both had an intense time together considering the hickeys on his neck." Abby gave a slow wink.
" Asher Josh? Wait, how do you even know that?"
" You passed out, so he brought you to me. Well like, dumped your body on me because he's a rich asshole and all. He didn't even make eye contact with me or try to smile before leaving the bar like someone took his candy."
Lena's head began to ache again. She held her hair, mouth wide in horror as she began to panic. She'd heard a lot about Asher Josh Colleen.
Typical description of the perfect asshole, Lena thought almost rolling her eyes.
Asher was the type of guy who looked down on people. He was the type to flirt with a straight face. He hardly showed any emotions, and if he didn't like you, he'd tell you straight in the face.
All the sons of Robert Josh must have a nasty attitude. What guy would thrust into someone so hard like he was the last man standing against a plethora of zombies in an apocalypse?
But, undeniably, the sex was pretty good even though her body was aching like hell. Too bad she couldn't remember his face clearly.
"At least he's better at sex in the bathroom than Drake," Lena stated dryly and walked into the bathroom. " How about that guy he was with? " She threw Abby a calculating look. " Come to think of it, he looked like the Sheikh of Ajman's son. What's his name again?"
Abby made an eye roll and leaned against the vanity. " Josiah freaking AI-Nasser."
" What's wrong? You said he looked like a ten from the way his muscles flexed while he walked. Plus, he has a pretty eatable face." Lena teased through chuckles.
She glanced at Abby who wasn't having it. Lena took some painkillers in the first aid kit and exited the bathroom.
" On a serious note, why are you in such a bad mood?" Lena threw the pills in her mouth before swallowing them down with some water.
" Why are rich guys so annoying?" Abby said, gritting her teeth. " Everything was going fine last night till he decided to go all BDSM on me. It's really so frustrating because he has such an amazing body. And sexy lips. Oh my God, you should have seen his length—"
" Too much information."
" Sorry. But," she sighed dreamily. " There was so much I wanted to do to that body but he wouldn't let me. When I tried touching him, he kept on pushing my hand away. I got so angry that I twisted his balls and slapped him in the face. The brute thinks he can go dominant on me." She scoffed at the last part.
Lena covered her mouth, trying to hold back a laugh. She couldn't help but picture the whole scenario.
Poor Josiah.
" Anyways, I'm just going to pretend like last night never happened. I'm a strong woman, no man is allowed to dominate me." Abby quipped.
" Amen, sister." Lena laughed out loud. " You twisted his balls? Who does that?"
Abby exhaled and got out of the bed. " Take a shower; we are having breakfast at MacDonald's. Bill is on you because there was no way I'm letting you go scot-free for puking on me last night."
" Aw, but you said you loved every part of me." Lena giggled whilst puckering her lips.
She took a long shower that managed to burn down the aching between her legs. After putting on some clothes, she went to the front porch where Abby's brand-new Highlander was parked.
Abby was born in the ghetto and has grown up learning to survive and defend herself at any cost, no matter how fatal they may be. The majority of the money she earned came from guys she had slept with. They relished throwing money at her and purchasing her costly presents, including vehicles. Abby didn't enjoy living life this way but she had no other option.
Despite graduating from university with an amazing grade, no one was ready to hire her due to her background.
Lena's parents did not in any way like Abby. They had repeatedly advised Lena to keep away from her, claiming she was a negative influence. But, Lena could see far more good in Abby than everyone couldn't see. She had always loved clubbing and dressing in dishabille, Abby had nothing to do with that.
" We'll split the bill." Abby said after placing an order. " and that's because I do love every part of you."
They are breakfast while gossiping about popular wealthy people. They didn't hide their prejudice for the rich. Why would they when the rich would throw their disdain for people like them without any bit of remorse?
Lena hailed a taxi back to her place since Abby needed to get to work ASAP.
Lena frowned in confusion as she stared at the silver Porsche parked on her front porch. It looked like the car that that asshole driver drove in.
What was a Porsche doing parked on her front porch?
Drake and his guest emerged from the front porch as Lena's mind was racing with additional thoughts. Drake was gigg
ling at something his guest must have said, but his guest simply maintained a straight face.
Lena heard their footsteps and glanced over at them as they gazed at her.
" To think she isn't stalking me."
