Chapter 2 - Unnamed

The Caribydis Empire.

It encompassed nine tenth of the Carenis continent.

Ruled by the Imperial family of Caribydis, it prospered greatly, be it in military, weaponry, magic, and riches. It was the envy of many other kingdoms and continents that knew about its assets. It also had the highest percentage of literate people since education was made free and compulsory to those below the age of twelve.

It had many noble households but none as influential as the Caribydis Imperial family and the members of the House of Kirjath-arim. This was the belief of many people that didn't know of the internal affairs of the Empire.

The House of Kirjath-arim was thought to be included because of their history which dated to before the Empire's founding and their involvement in its founding. The empire was built on a very bloody foundation and the citizens knew that. They also knew that the Kirjath-arim was responsible for the blood but they didn't know to what extents. That's why when taught, they were placed on the same level as the Imperial family.

In truth, the Kirjath-arim family was actually superior to the Caribydis family in all aspects: wealth, strength, fashion and influence. This was only known to the inner political circle. Despite all this, the members of the Caribydis family didn't feel inferior to the Kirjath-arim in anyway.

This was due to the hand-me-down madness that all the heads of the family seemed to suffer from. There was also the rumored Demon of Kirjath-arim. He was said to be the cause of the strange madness which only affected the heads of the family.

Enough of the past, on to the present. The other heads of Kirjath-arim, chose to give birth to one or two children in fear that the ever stagnant madness would spread to the others. The current head of the family, Archduke Beth-horon Kirjath-arim, didn't seem to care about this. This was reflected in the number of people calling him 'father'. Seventeen in total. Yes, seventeen. Fifteen with the same woman, his wife, Archduchess Rezia Kirjath-arim.
