Chapter 1 - OLIVIA

I could here his footsteps tailing behind me...he was close by....I could sense him...the darkness that surrounded him.

He was coming for me....I could still here his voice and the words he said to me earlier...

"Run..Little fox...if I catch you.. I fuck you"

Pop's Choc'lit shop.....

One would think that after working in the same diner for a year now, I would have gotten used to the way things are done around here. The small tips, the unsatisfied costomers....non of which were my fault since I had told the manager countless times to make some adjustments to the menu.

I could still remember his narcissistic words...

'You do not get to tell me how to run my diner young lady'

The man spoke with such arrogance that had me questioning how he was able to get this far. Surely no one would run one of the most popular Diners in Country D with such a Narcissistic mindset.

I tried to keep my legs steady as I walked down the snowy path, I had just finished my night shift. It was a few minutes past ten and the streets were still busy, filled with people both young and old. Some sitting on the bench telling old tales, others trying to get a treat or two from the food vendors on the street.

After walking for about thirty minutes, I finally arrived in my small apartment, well small is not the word I'll use since it's more of a very tiny...tiny apartment. Not that I'm a fan of small places but I've learn to manage, afterall I don't really have much of a choice.

I searched my small purse for my keys and found them dangling at the end, threatening to fall off.

The door was stuck, but nothing a little elbow grease can't fix but of course that resulted in a loud bang which I'm very sure was heard by my neighbors.

The cold air from my room hit my face and I could feel my skin crawling, I walked inside my small apartment and closed the door shut behind me.

"Home sweet home" The words came out more like a whisper, my voice was muffled and I was freezing.

I Dropped my purse on my bed and began taking off my sleeves as I strode to the kitchen. I'm in no condition to cook dinner but I had to help myself with a cup of coffee.

After the long shift I had at Pop's, I had to end the day with a hot cup of coffee. That would help keep me awake so I could go though my Job application form.

After drinking the last drop of coffee in my mug, I walked towards my bathroom to wash off. The cold water didn't do me any justice but I had to manage considering the fact that I'm on a budget now.

I strode out of the bathroom with my body still dripping, I wrapped myself in one of my robes and picked a comfortable position on the side of my bed.

The laptop was already set in place.

"Here we go" I tried to motivate myself as I turned on my Laptop. I had gone though many Job applications in the past, in the end, they all had similar outcomes, I was always declined.

But I'm persistent which is why I am writing another Job application, I couldn't continue on the salary I get from Pop's, I can barely afford my house rent as it is. I had to get a better job if I don't want to get kicked out on the streets.

Soon everything turned blurry and I began to drift into the dream world, I didn't bother to fight it...I knew I had to get enough rest for the task awaiting me tomorrow.Â
