Chapter 48 - Chapter 47:Increase in power and rewards

Morpheus, unconscious, found himself in a surreal dream—or perhaps a vision. He stood in a dimension of utter darkness, where no light could penetrate. Before him loomed a being, a living shadow radiating an aura of ancient malevolence.

The entity sat upon a dark throne, carried by nightmarish beasts unlike anything in existence. Their forms were monstrous, each one large enough to dwarf entire cities, their blackness seeming to absorb the very fabric of reality. The being's crown, jet-black with a blood-red gemstone at its center, pulsed faintly, as if alive.

This figure was no mere creature. Its form was a swirling storm of shadows interlaced with glowing white threads, cold like the pale light of a dead moon. It had no face, yet its presence was suffocating, as though the weight of the cosmos bowed to its existence. Its hands, resembling the charred roots of an ancient tree, stretched out menacingly, as if capable of tearing through the fabric of reality itself.

Whispers echoed in the void—soft, incomprehensible murmurs from countless souls trapped within its aura. Around the throne, vortices of bizarre energy twisted and warped the space, reshaping the very laws of nature.

The creature's crimson eyes glowed with a dangerous intensity, piercing through Morpheus. In a deep, resonant voice that seemed to come from within the void itself, it whispered:

"The time draws near, O King of Nothingness."

As the words reverberated through the darkness, Morpheus suddenly awoke, drenched in sweat. He sat up abruptly, finding himself back in the volcanic castle. His breathing was ragged as he processed what had just occurred.

"You're finally awake," Rozemar said, her tone filled with relief. She knelt beside him, a faint glow still emanating from her hands. "You've been unconscious for an hour. I've been healing your wounds."

Morpheus blinked, still shaken. An hour? That vision... that nightmare... it only lasted seconds.

Isaac grinned, leaning casually against a broken wall. "Cheer up, buddy. We took care of the demon and cleared the First Dimension. We're getting promoted to the Fourth Tier, and we're getting rewards! I can't wait to see what new skills I'll unlock."

Before Morpheus could respond, a deep, disembodied voice echoed through the chamber.

"Congratulations, contestants, on completing the First Dimension. Your rewards will now be delivered."

Three shimmering crystals descended from above, one for each member of the team.

"Behold, the Crystals of the Second Dimension."

Each of them grabbed a crystal, feeling its weight and the immense energy within.

"And now," the voice continued, "you shall ascend to the Fourth Tier of Aether."

A radiant light engulfed the team. Morpheus felt a surge of warmth coursing through his body, as though every cell was splitting and multiplying in an exhilarating dance. His very soul seemed to rejuvenate, filling with newfound strength.

When the light faded, Morpheus opened his eyes, and the world looked sharper, more vibrant. He flexed his hands, marveling at the increase in his physical strength. He could sense the Aether around him with uncanny precision, and his connection to the shadows felt deeper, more intimate.

"So this is the Fourth Tier," he murmured. His muscles felt powerful, his skin healthier, and the shadows at his command seemed to hum with vitality.

Isaac's grin widened as flames erupted around him. "This is awesome! My control over fire has skyrocketed!" He conjured a fiery bird that danced gracefully in the air before transforming into a playful cat.

Rozemar, examining her hands, said with quiet satisfaction, "The range and strength of my vines have greatly increased." With a simple gesture, she summoned massive, intricate vines that coiled and twisted like living sculptures.

The mysterious voice echoes, "It's time for your rewards."

Isaac exclaims with excitement, "Finally! Time for the prizes!"

The team looks on as their rewards manifest. Morpheus steps forward and picks up a dark shield. As he examines it, a screen appears before him with its details:

Item Name: Night Weaver

Grade: Fine Relic

Properties: A shield that automatically adapts to the wielder's form. It regenerates using the wielder's energy if damaged and evolves alongside their strength.

Morpheus smirks, "Not bad. It's way better than the sword the Cardinal gave me. Let's give it a try."

The shield attaches itself to Morpheus and begins spreading like liquid darkness, enveloping his body. It forms a sleek, black armor that glimmers faintly with a silvery hue, covering him up to his neck.

Isaac, intrigued, asks, "What did you get?"

Morpheus turns to him, "What about you?"

Isaac reveals a fiery weapon, "I got the Eternal Phoenix Spear."

The spear gleams in his hands, its shaft a vibrant red etched with intricate phoenix engravings. Its sharp, obsidian blade glows faintly with a molten hue.

Morpheus nods approvingly, "Impressive. That weapon looks deadly."

Isaac laughs, pointing at Morpheus' armor, "Not as cool as your new look, though. You're like a walking shadow knight."

Rosemar interjects with a soft smile, holding her reward: "I received the Eternal Flora Crown."

She places the radiant white crown on her head, its petals seamlessly interwoven to form an elegant design

Item Name: Eternal Flora Crown

Grade: Fine Relic

Properties: Amplifies the power and range of the wearer's plant-based abilities.

Isaac grins mischievously, "You look stunning with that crown, Rosemar."

Rosemar blushes lightly, running her fingers over the delicate petals, "Thank you. I can feel its energy enhancing my control over my vines already."

Morpheus adjusts his armor, looking at the team, "These relics will give us an edge in the next realm. Let's make them count."
