Auro snickered at the ridiculously names Relic and after deducing by process of elimination that it belonged to the leader of the three ogryn he burst out laughing, the only thing that would have made it funnier would be if the ogryn got the Relic renamed by an artificer. The three club Relics themselves were not unusable, quite appropriate for Act 1 pugilists as the ogryn were, with them all having enchantments that allowed the clubs to increase their weight and deal internal injuries more consistently with {Great-toothed Club} having an enchantment that made wounds blead profusely if inflicted by the weapon.

Since Auro had no need for them, he made a mental note to take them to an artificer when they reached the city of the clouds and proceeded to summon the {Trekkers Backpack}, a Relic with the ability to store up to ten times its apparent volume at a fixed weight of 20kg, which was next to nothing for any ascender, let alone one at Act 2. He threw in a small pot, two plates come cutlery, the clothes strewn around his tent, a canteen and his now full binbag. Feeling satisfied, Auro went to sleep.

Sunrise in the desert was as harsh as it was beautiful, with the almost instant transition from freezing cold to blistering heat being a rather cruel way to be woken up if one was still asleep. Auro was waiting at the western gate for Ed, who was likely to have a hangover, as according to Agatha, the barkeep's wife who runs the kitchen of the tavern, selling the unbought food from last night as rations to Auro after he profusely apologised for last nights incident.

Auro had spent the morning packing up his tent and sleeping bag, buying supplies for the imminent journey, cleaning the ogryn blood off the arena floor and recording yesterdays expedition findings in the {Tattered Logbook}, a Relic that even while unsummoned allowed him to perfectly recall the contents written inside it and with it having seemingly an infinite amount of pages, it had become one of Auros most used considering his fear of loosing his memories again.

Some ten minutes later, Ed had arrived with him still trying to shove things into the pockets of his great coat that also doubled as a storage Relic and after saying goodbye to Aiden, the barkeep, they set of.

"How long till we arrive at the misty peaks?" Ed inquired

Auro summoned the {wayfarers Atlas}, a Relic that had the ability to automatically draw a map of the 10km around itself, that Auro used to mark the areas he had travelled to while searching for clues to his past.

"If we keep to this pace, we should be there before midday and if all goes well we'll be climbing the fourth peak about an hour after noon.

"Good" Ed stated before stopping to summoning a bison like creature, that Ed had named Hellan and lied down on top of it.

"Hellan follow Auro's instructions while I sleep, il get you some good quality food when we arrive at the city of the clouds"

"lazy bastard" Auro said in a mocking tone, with Hellan snorting in agreement.

"your just jealous little wanderer" Ed stated before covering his face to protect himself from 'sand' and promptly went to sleep.

The trek across the western quadrant of the glass desert was rather uneventful, just arduous and tiring for even Auro who was a wanderer, an Edict type supposedly suited for long journeys. The only notable thing was Auro seeing an amber sand shark, a shark like creature made of an amber coloured and semi opaque glass, that swam through the fine glass shards that made up the 'sand' of this desert like it was water. According to the native tribes that Auro had stayed with inside the desert to see one was a rare occurrence and so it was seen as an omen, depending on the tribe the meaning of its appearance differed with the general consensus being that it would bring great fortune to either you or your enemies depending if it saw you. Auro had tried to get close enough to use {zoology for dummies}, a Relic that could improve the effectiveness of an attack on a target depending on how much information about the target was recorded in the book, but in the end Auro decided against it as sand sharks had been seen fighting against tens of giant crytalline with ease, putting its combative strength at that of a crystalline titan or Act 3 ascender, both of which were significantly out of Auro's league even if Ed assisted him.

Just over 2 hours later with the sun being about 20° off of midday, the duo had arrived at the misty peaks.
