My mother's question was not what I was expecting to talk about on my birthday but like I said mother always have her reasons.
I told her about my dream and the strange feeling I've been having for the past few days.
"Anita darling forgive mommy for taking so long to explain things to you." She said rubbing my hands.
"You've been having those dreams because you have come of age to meet your true self and find a mate ...."
My jaw dropped as mom continued with her narrative. Confused about what she was saying I let out a laughter and asked if she was joking when she ended her speech by saying your dreams are a premonition and you are one of the very few people in the ashmoon park who are gifted to see the future honey bonny.
My mother's expression after my laughter made me realise that whatever she just said was not a joke and I was soon going to meet the beast that has been trying to rip me apart in my dreams , I pulled my hands away and paced the room trying to take in everything my mother just said to me .
Why me,why now mother?
Whatever this is I don't want to be part of it, I don't want to be a dog living in a forest community away from the lively world out there mother.
"A wolf sweetie not a dog and the pack is the best protection you can have as a..."
I cut her off before she could complete her statement and stormed out of the room.
Everyone in the house started wishing me a happy birthday as I walked passed the with a fake smile. My dad was by side before I knew it and by the look on his face I could see that he already knew everything. My mother had mind linked him.
I walked past him into the garden and sat down at the tree my grandfather had planted for us. "It will bring you comfort when you need it" he had said.
I heard a sound from the trees and looked up to find someone walking towards me and his eyes looked so familiar.
