Three days after the battle between Damon and his uncle, Damon had ordered that his uncle and the rebel knights be taken to the outskirts of his territory . There he made his uncle kneel and charged him with treason against his lord then he took an axe and beheaded him.
As for the rebel knights, all one hundred and thirty five of them had their powers absorbed by Damon then he separated them into groups of ten whereby he proceeded to blind everyone in the group except for one person who he plucked off only an eye and charged them to lead their blind comrades out of his territory . As they were leaving Damon shouted to them " when anyone asks tell them that it is I Damon who had shown you such mercy in repayment for the helping the usurper, repeat this exact words to all who are willing to hear ."
Back at the castle the maids and servants who were involved in his poisoning were also executed at the back of the castle for all the servants to see and to remove any ideas that they might have of betraying him again.
The Ronalla castle:
Felix Ronalla, the Lord of the Ronalla family and Ronalla mines was balls deep in one of the stable boys when his butler walked in with a letter.
" My goodness Emir can't you knock for once " the gruff looking Felix shouted but still continuing with his activity.
" My Lord it concerns lady Bella, she has been imprisoned by Lord Merula " replied Emir looking unfased at the event happening in front of him .
As soon as Felix heard that the matter was about his daughter, he stopped and put on a robe.
" Why would Lukas inprison his wife , has he gone mad "
" Not Lukas my Lord but his nephew Damon. He has taken control of his family lands and has executed his uncle on charges of treason, he has also written a letter to you in regards of the situation " Emir replied promptly.
" What are you waiting for then read then" Felix shouted.
" Yes my Lord , it goes " Greetings to Lord Felix Ronalla Lord of the Ronalla family and mines it is I Damon of the house Merula who is writing to you at this moment.
I will go straight to the point, my uncle in a ploy to take over my lands and titles resorted to poisoning me but he was caught and promptly executed along with the servants who helped him with his cause.
Your daughter however even as there are strong evidence of her being the mastermind behind this treasonous acts has been put in prison and not executed because of my overwhelming respect for you. So I have decided to follow the rules of nobility for a ransom , you are to pay me five hundred thousand gold coins, a million silver coins as well as two hundred horses and bulls. Please do not try to haggle like a market wench or I will assume that you daughter were speaking your words to my uncles ear. Respectfully Lord Damon merula.""
" That impudent brat dare put a member of my house in prison , that magicless worm....."
" My Lord that is another issue, it seems like he also awakened magical abilities. If I am not mistaken , he is both a warrior and a mage . A very rare composition which few people are able to awaken , except for the imperial family." Emir replied.
In anger Felix shot a fire ball at the stable boy who had been standing at the corner of the room.
"What should I do Emir, should I go to war with that upstart " Felix asked feeling mad with rage.
" No my Lord , war is not an option as your daughter is still young and could still be used as a a bargaining chip to increase your influence . We have the money to pay so let's just pay we would still have a reason to go to war with Merula in future ".
The Merula castle:
Damon after cleaning up his house of disedents called for a meeting of the his council. They included the master of coins who was responsible for the Merula family fortune and the fortune of their territory which was the same thing , the master of building who was responsible for building roads, infrastructure and their maintenance finally was the chief knight who was responsible for all military activity both defensive and offensive of the territory.
At that moment all three of the council members were standing in silence waiting for Damon to come in .
These men even the powerful three star warrior,the chief knight were all in fear of Damon, not because of the brutality he showed when taking back his lands but because of the way he did it, without any planning and without any hesitation just like a mad man.
Just then Damon walked into the room and they all stood up in ceremony to greet him and without paying any attention to any of their greetings he asked " Lord Teruss ,you are the man in charge of my coins yes?"
" Yes my Lord." Teruss replied
" In three days I would like you to give me a detailed report on all assets that I currently own and the total expenditures between five years ago and this moment, if I have made myself clear you can leave the room."
He then turned to the master of building " Lord Barthos you as the master of building are to work together with the master of coins, find out the population of this territory and anyplace that needs building or fixing."
Then he turned to the chief knight " sir Barksdale, we are in a bit of trouble are we not , being as I have only fifteen knights to guard my territory".
" I suppose so Lord Damon" Barksdale replied.
Damon then let out a huge sigh " hmm , let us meet up after those old men have given me their reviews, okay".
