A great sage has authored many texts. These texts are categorized into three types: Stotra Kritis, Bhashya Kritis, and Bhakranakritis. Each of these books discusses devotion to the Lord and the practices necessary for attaining knowledge. The sage, who realized the truth through the experience of Shruti Yukti, shared his experiences and practices as scriptures.
One such scripture is Viveka Chudamani. The sage sought to attain the state of no rebirth. However, not knowing about Madanakama (the desire of love), he learned from ancient scriptures that the state of no rebirth would not come to him unless he understood Madanakama.
How to understand Madanakama? It wasn't an issue, but the sage used a strategy. He did not want to taint his holy body. Therefore, he decided to transfer his soul into the body of another young man and through that man's involvement with several women, he hoped to understand Madanakama.
The sage awaited the right moment. At that time, a young man named Kasirajan, who had been traveling through Kashi, was nearing his end as his life span was very short. The sage understood that Kasirajan was about to die.
The sage instructed his disciples to protect his body. The disciples stood guard vigilantly. In an instant, the sage's soul entered the body of Kasirajan as soon as the young man passed away. The sage, now in the body of Kasirajan, arose as Sankara, and no one except him knew this transformation.
This happened in an instant, without anyone knowing. Kings, who have the privilege of enjoying the love of women, are entitled to have private affairs, and their personal lives are not discussed publicly.
Even though they can easily win the hearts of many women, the sage had to possess Kasirajan's body for this transformation to happen. Kasirajan, a handsome young man with a short life span, turned out to be very favorable for the sage's purpose.
The sage, in the form of Kasirajan, first engaged in love play with the queen. Later, in the royal palace, he indulged in love play with many women, experiencing joy step by step. He realized the truth and understood the secret of rebirth.
Through this experience, he wrote the Madan Kama Nool (The Book of Madan's Desire), gaining complete fulfillment. Afterward, he returned to his holy body, and immediately after, the body of Kasirajan died. Without delay, the sage shared the Madan Kama Nool with his disciples.
The sage then realized that he had attained the state of no rebirth. He lived his life fully and shared that anyone who wishes to reach the state of no rebirth must first experience desire with his wife. This is the key to attaining that state.
Through his experience, he authored the Madan Kama Nool, a scripture meant for the benefit of humanity.
