Amahle's pov
As I reached the front door, I heard my father's voice calling out to me. "Amahle, is that you?"
I pushed open the door and rushed inside, slamming it shut behind me. I leaned against the door, trying to catch my breath.
My father appeared in the hallway, a look of concern on his face. "Amahle, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."
I hesitated, unsure of how much to tell him. But something about his kind expression put me at ease. "Dad, I think someone's following me," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
My father's expression turned serious. "What do you mean? Who's following you?"
I took a deep breath and told him everything - about the message from Xolani, about the feeling of being watched, and about the person following me home from school.
As I spoke, my father's face grew darker and more concerned. When I finished, he pulled me into a tight hug.
"We'll take care of this, Amahle," he said. "I promise you, you're safe now."
But as I looked up at him, I couldn't shake the feeling that Xolani was still out there, waiting for me.
