Three days later.
Yu Chen sat up from his position. He had been sleeping for three days and that has been enough to replenish his Hp back to full. He exhales softly and stared at the seventh depth of the Cauldron.
He had successfully passed this last hurdle. And ahead of him is— A Gate?
Yu Chen's eyes narrowed as he stood up. Trying not to wobble since he have been in a position for three days and it gave him cramps. He slowly walked towards the portal.
Yu Chen was overjoyed.
Indeed, it was a gate. The hexagonal entrance was illuminated in a soft glow.
"Runic magic..."
"Magic of runes..."
"The art of teleportation!"
"Runes and teleportation.. this is it." He immediately placed his hands on the opened surface and his hand seem to have vanished.
Almost like phasing through something and not being able to see where it went to.
Yu Chen did not mind that he was acting childish.
His other hand stuck through gate and disappeared too.
He retracted his hands and it returned from wherever it had vanished to.
Yu Chen quickly stuck his head, but unconsciously he was sucked in by an invisible force and he saw himself crashing down from an unbelievable height.
With a startling scream, he waved his hands and lines of death energy spiralled out of his hands. He did not have any power related to flight, he could not... No wait, Necromancer's could will anything out of nothingness.
It was true that Necromancer's could not fly.
But ever Necromancer could will something out of nothing. Example, to stop this dangerous fall, maybe he could summon a pair of wings or a flying carpet or even an invisible land under his feet. These were a Necromancer's source of power, it was their will.
Yu Chen concentrated.
Each time he thought deep about weaving something out of nothing, there would always be lingering fear that stops him from accomplishing his goals.
This will is not something that has to do with death energy or Miasma... It is something of the heart, something that makes imagination come alive. It was true alignment.
Yu Chen took a deep breath and closed his eyes, his senses transformed from fifth to sixth.
The world became absolutely tranquil and his body suddenly slowed down as if not affected by gravity.
Yu Chen opened his eyes after several hours of familiarizing himself with his sixth sense and his will.
A powerful wings suddenly materialized behind him and he flapped it, generating a massive torrent and skillfully plummeting down.
However, the thing now is...
What Yu Chen willed out consumed Death Energy or Miasma. So, no matter how adept his foundation in wills becomes, whatever is willed out must not permanently exist.
It consumed his energy.
When Yu Chen realized this, his face suddenly went pale. Both his Death Energy and Miasma had depleted to half.
The worst part is that, It did not just consume one energy but the two and it's consumption rate was very murderous.
Yu Chen only prayed that he reaches his destination before his energy runs out.
Fortunately, he landed on a wooden surface and he willed the wings to vanish. Luckily it did not take more of his both energies and Yu Chen sighed in relief. But then, his pupils shrank when he realized where he had landed.
His master's room.
Wait, wasn't this room destroyed by her?
Yu Chen immediately commanded every aura of power within him to vanish and it did. He now looked completely normal, just like an ordinary human.
It was at that moment that the small wooden door creaked open and she walked in.
However, she froze seeing Yu Chen standing in her room staring right back at her.
"Yu— Yu... Chen?"
She had never lost her composure in front of him before. It amused Yu Chen to an extent...
Yu Chen had decided to let everyone seem him as someone who would never awaken so that at least, he would mark out those good people and the ones that are his enemies.
Yu Chen watched how his master switched mood and suddenly, she unleashed her aura at him with the intention of crushing him.
Yu Chen was surprised that the aura did not even affect him.
The seven Saints of Dukkha were not even as powerful as he had expected. However, he pretended to feel overwhelmed and crashed down upon the floor.
He circulated his death energy backwards and it hurt him that he spat out blood.
The lady stared at Yu Chen with murder in her eyes. "How did you survive?"
Yu Chen's eyes were red.
"I did not enter the seven depths. The path deviated."
Normally, it was common for mistakes like that to happen when opening the gates into the depths of the Cauldron so the lady did not think he lied.
"Which means, you served no punishment at all..."
She suddenly smiled wickedly.
"It is not possible for me to open the gates into the depths again until after six months. So, how about you serve that punishment in the dungeon filled with creatures, huh?"
Yu Chen pretended to be horrified, however internally his blood boiled to kill. Inheriting the Death God Legacy came with it's own penalty...
It seem like Yu Chen had figured out what the [¿¿??] Signifies.
It is...
[Bloodlust]
He would always crave to kill which was not a part of human nature.
Yu Chen's blood boiled. His body itched...
Although, not just for the thirst to spill blood, but to see if there would be an improvement in his stats.
Yu Chen struggled to suppress the bloodlust he felt at the moment and he continued to gaze at the lady with fear in his eyes.
She immediately reached out for him and Yu Chen was yanked by an unimaginable power.
Although Yu Chen was just awakening the Death God Legacy, the difference in strength was not that great. If he had awakened the normal human skills, Yu Chen would have been weaker than his master.
Right now, their strength were almost close to each other. But if Yu Chen improves, he would surpass her and that was just the difference.
Her master had taken long to nurture and grow her powers, but Yu Chen only need to kill for improvement and the best place to do that is... the dungeon filled with creatures.
