Chapter 1 - The Day We Met Again

The night before my school's eleventh anniversary, my dad came home with some papers meant for me. Of course I was asleep by then, dad usually comes back home from work around 10'oclock. It was no big deal. Work had taken almost his entire time, so much that I thought it could even swallow him anytime soon.

The papers he brought were from my uncle, the administrator and second in command of my school, and I was to read them at the event. But little did I know, I was about to be struck by heavy waves of the sea.

...

That silent morning I woke up in high spirits, thinking I had nothing doing for an entire school event-for the first time ever, and was ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the show, but, oh no! Crap!

I walked out of my room, stretching my arms to the fullest and yawning out loud as if I was ready to swallow up the sea-that was for sure. Walked down the corridor that led to the main entrance of my home, of course it wouldnt be an insult to call it a house since it had not much of the fancy like stuff, you know, the ones rich people had in their mansions of course.

I stealthily opened the door, and there he was. My dad, going through some sheets.

I had always wondered why he'd be up so early upon coming home late... was it that he attended military school? Or was it that he was just used to sleeping for five hours straight? Didn't he ever hear of the saying, early to bed, early to rise? Or was his more of- late to bed, early to rise, you've gotta work, don't spoil the tide!? I'll just take it as he's used to waking up early, besides, he was aging, and I had heard that old people found it difficult to sleep. What I bummer! I usually felt like sleeping twelve hours straight without having to do anything at all-that of the house chores and school you know.

"Good morning father" I said, wondering precisely what he was up to.

"Morning Jeanne"dad said, sending back my greetings in a calm manner.

" Your Uncle asked to give this to you, figured it was a bit too complex and shaddy so I decided to give it a synopsis, just so you'd have no difficulty in it. " he added, alerting me that moment that I was given a task, Again!

Gosh! The least I could do was to shut up my big mouth and accept it. It's not as if I had a say in this anyway besides, a task is a task, and I must complete it, moreover, those papers really needed my attention. I was running out of time and had to get dressed. Where else would I be if not school? On a SATURDAY tooo! What a pain. Had very little time to review those papers, so the least I could do was to head for school, find time and read those parchments.

...

At school, once more, we were given a task, and I had no option than to do what the teacher had ordered us to, again, I had no say, factually speaking. By the time we finished, the program had just commenced and everyone was in their seats, it was there I remembered that I had a sheets to do justice to. Just as I was about to take that as an opportunity for me to review them, a senior from behind called me.,asking for them. Another no say game. I handed it over to her and took a glance. There! My eyes caught something, not necessarily a thing but...a boy, long-legged boy who was fair in complexion and had thick black hair, the type we usually call, "afro". Yup! That's right, next to him was a girl with the same skin tone, but with alotta hair than expected. Had a feeling at that moment. But I just couldn't tell what it was...they just looked, familiar, but who were they?
