[SYSTEM UPDATE COMPLETE]

'LUCIFER SYSTEM' Cassien paid attention to those particular set of words.

The system continued to explain things to Cassien and as it kept going, the questions piling up in cassiens head continued to increase.

'why did Lucifer need a successor'?

'if Lucifer only wanted to kill god, why make the function of finding a successor'

'why did the system choose him, the very being Lucifer wanted to destroy'

All sorts of questions kept appearing but before he could get the chance to ask, the systems voice came again and said something that shocked him to the core

'What....' this was the only thing Cassien thought, everything the system just said right now didn't make a single sense to him.

'what apocalypse..' 'he was expected to find out the system settings on his own...'

Like who does that. And he could swear he heard a snicker out of the system voice before it left

Suddenly, while Cassien was still deep in thought, an earthquake erupted. The ground beneath him trembled violently, sending shockwaves through the air. Buildings began to sway and crumble, their foundations unable to withstand the sheer force of the tremor.

The sky darkened as thick, ominous clouds of ash and smoke billowed from the earth, blotting out the sun.

Cassien stumbled, struggling to maintain his balance as the ground split open, revealing a fiery chasm below. Lava spewed forth, cascading in molten rivers that consumed everything in their path. The heat was unbearable, searing the air and scorching the land. Trees ignited in an instant, their leaves turning to ash as flames licked hungrily at their trunks.

The roar of the eruption was deafening, a cacophony of destruction that drowned out all other sounds. Cassien's heart pounded in his chest as he watched the world around him descend into chaos. He could hear the people screaming and running in all directions, desperate to escape the inferno that was rapidly engulfing the city.

Cassien immediately ran into the school building, his heart racing. It seemed like the only place that might offer some refuge from the relentless lava. The walls of the school trembled, and the ceiling tiles rattled, threatening to collapse at any moment. It was a desperate gamble—either be crushed by the falling debris or be consumed by the advancing lava.

Inside, the hallways were filled with panicked students and teachers, all seeking shelter from the apocalyptic chaos outside. Cassien pushed through the crowd, searching for a place that might offer more stability. He found a stairwell and quickly descended to the basement, hoping the lower levels would provide some protection.

The air was thick with dust and the acrid smell of burning materials. The ground continued to shake, and Cassien could hear the distant roar of the lava as it crept closer. He found a small storage room and huddled inside, barricading the door with whatever he could find.

As he sat there, the sounds of destruction outside grew louder. The building groaned under the strain, and Cassien could feel the heat from the lava even through the thick walls. He knew that this might be the end, but he clung to a sliver of hope that somehow, he would survive this nightmare.

Time seemed to stretch endlessly as he waited, each second feeling like an eternity.

The noise outside eventually began to subside, and the tremors lessened. Cassien dared to hope that the worst was over as he was lucky to still be alive. He cautiously opened the door and peered out, ready to face whatever awaited him in the aftermath of the eruption.

Cassien stepped cautiously into the hallway, his senses on high alert. The once bustling school was now eerily silent, the air thick with dust and the lingering smell of smoke. He navigated through the debris, his footsteps echoing in the empty corridors. The walls were cracked, and the ceiling had partially collapsed in some areas, but the building had miraculously withstood the worst of the eruption.

As he made his way to the main entrance, Cassien could see the devastation outside through the shattered windows. The landscape was unrecognizable, transformed into a hellish scene of molten lava and charred remains. The sky was still dark with ash, casting an ominous shadow over the ruins.

When Cassien came out of the school building, the first three words that came out of his mouth were

"WHAT THE FUCK!!"
