Arsher walked with a smirk on his face. He was on his way to the school library, the place where The Dashing Dynamo was always found.
"This pathetic boy, can't he just leave me in peace?" The young man then entered the library without greeting anyone.
Umm... Who greets anyone in such a quiet place?
After looking around, Arsher walked towards a corner. He followed his instincts; the Dynamo must be here.
At a table, a bespectacled man was reading a book. "What do you want, Daredevil?" he asked without looking up at Arsher.
Arsher chuckled softly. "Dynamo, stop being so emo."
"I'm just asking, not acting. " The man, known as Dynamo, replied in a flat tone.
Arsher nodded. "If you were, I can hack the Oscar Award system for you. So you can win the Best Pathetic Boy category."
"Is that category real?"
The bespectacled man closed his book. The Daredevil in front of him never spoke without sharing some wise but time-wasting words.
"Oh yeah, I know you want me to get straight to the point, right? Ash, my beloved brother and school favorite Dynamo..." Arsher trailed off, intentionally leaving his words hanging to annoy Ash, who was also his older brother.
Arsher and Ash were siblings with personalities that were 180 degrees apart. Arsher, The Dashing Daredevil, mischievous and annoying. Ash, The Dashing Dynamo, smart but a little distant.
Arsher took a deep breath before continuing. "... Your girlfriend is currently cheating on you with a junior in Form Four."
"Already know that... My pleasure to keep you busy." Ash smiled sarcastically. Arsher nodded again, not surprised.
He had expected this. Ash wasn't stupid. Even if it was a silly or childish relationship, his brother never took it seriously.
What he knew was that Ash had a girlfriend to relieve his boredom. Boredom? Bored of seeing Arsher's face every day.
"How about this time, it's your turn to have a girlfriend? I'm sick of immature girls. You're not that mature yet either." Ash suggested, then pulled Arsher to sit beside him.
Arsher quickly shook his head. "A big no, Dynamo. Instead of telling me to get a girlfriend, you might as well ask mom to find me a wife..."
Ash widened his hazel eyes. "What? I didn't hear you."
Did he mishear or was it because Arsher spoke softly? In the library, the only sounds were pages turning and the hum of the fan.
Talking without ever getting caught by the school's library monitors? These two siblings were experts at it.
"You didn't hear me? I'll repeat it at home later. I need to get to class; break is almost over." Arsher pretended to look at his wristwatch.
Ash let it go. "Go ahead..."
The Daredevil walked away. Ash only watched him with the corner of his eye. For a moment, he shook his head slowly.
"I might be nearsighted, but I swear he's not even wearing a watch." He muttered to himself.
Ding! His phone vibrated, indicating a new message. Ash took out his phone from his pocket. Oh, a message from his class group.
Infinity Six Amethyst
You, Baharom, Cikgu Oliv and 20 others
Mrs. Oliv
Does anyone know who
took all the candy from my desk?
Zack
As usual, signorina. You can ask Dynamo...
Elly
How come there were candies on the signorina's desk?
You can't eat all that. You'll get diabetes...
Mrs. Oliv
Thanks for worrying about me. But I want my candy back!
Ash
Ask your favorite student, signorina. Maybe he's the one who ate your candy.
Mrs. Oliv
You mean Arsher the
Daredevil?
Brandon
I think Dynamo only has one younger brother...
Ash smiled thinly. No wonder Arsher appeared here suddenly—he had just finished stealing candy.
Ding! His phone buzzed again. Ash quickly read the message. Since his phone screen was too bright, he lowered the brightness.
Mr. Charlie

I need your help, Ash the Dynamo! - Mr. Charlie
Huh? - Ash
What's going on, sir? - Ash
I've received a case of a missing student... - Mr. Charlie
Ash furrowed his brows. Wait, a missing student? The man looked almost in disbelief. The book he had been reading before Arsher arrived was now placed back on the bookshelf.
"Oh my, another case. I never expected another student to become the victim..."
He needed help, from the Daredevil.
