That night, Kang Min sat in the living room watching the news. The news that was on made him pause for a moment. A man seemed to be launching a new company, giving a confident speech on the television screen.
Suddenly, Kang Min realized that the man speaking on the television was the person involved in the incident that destroyed his family-the man who framed his father and caused him to be sentenced to death despite his innocence.
However, even though the man's face reminded Kang Min of all the pain he had experienced, he just continued snacking quietly, without caring too much. To him, at that time, there were still many things he had to find out, and he didn't know for sure if that man was really the culprit behind everything.
"Why would I bother, it's not necessarily the same person," Kang Min muttered, half unconcerned.
Although his heart was filled with anger, he felt it was better not to rush the news. Right now, the most important thing for him was to build strong evidence-something more provable than just watching the news that didn't necessarily reveal everything.
Kang Min continued to munch on the snack in his hand while staring at the television screen. The news about the man who was launching the company kept spinning in his head, but he tried to calm himself down. He knew, for now, it was better not to get too caught up in his emotions. There was a lot to do, and the big plans had to go ahead.
However, even though he tried not to care too much, the memory of his father being executed continued to haunt him. It felt like there was a huge hole in his heart that couldn't be filled with just a snack or the news on television. Kang Min knew one thing: he had to fight back, find evidence, and ensure that their family got the justice they deserved.
Just then, his cell phone vibrated, distracting him from the TV screen. Kang Min saw the name that appeared on the screen-Lee Jong. He did not hesitate to answer it.
"Yo, Min! Are you still watching the news?" Lee Jong's voice sounded excited. "I just heard, someone said that that person... yes, you know, right?"
Kang Min took a deep breath, trying to contain his anger. "Yes, I saw it, but it's not necessarily what we think, Jong."
Lee Jong was silent for a moment, then answered in a serious tone. "Are you sure, Min? I don't want you to get caught again. We have to be more careful."
Kang Min snorted softly. "I've been careful for a long time, Jong. But now I need proof. I can't just stay silent."
After that conversation, Kang Min stared at the TV screen once more. The man-who had destroyed his family-now looked so successful and calm, as if nothing had ever happened. However, Kang Min was ready to turn everything around.
"Soon...," Kang Min muttered to himself. "Everything will change."
He knew the battle was still long, and he had to fight hard to uncover the truth. But right now, the important thing was to find a way to the evidence that could reveal who the real person behind all of this was.
While staring at the screen, Kang Min decided to focus on his next plan. After all, even though the night was hard, he would not stop until justice was served.
Kang Min was surprised when his cell phone vibrated again. This time, the message wasn't from his friends, but from his brother, Kang Soo Hyuk. His heart raced as he read the text message:
"The bar is really crowded with the police. Kim Dal was a victim, he died there."
Kang Min's heart seemed to stop for a moment. Everything he had been thinking about was instantly gone, replaced by deep worry. Kim Dal... a victim? He couldn't imagine what happened. As quickly as possible, Kang Min jumped up from his chair, threw the snacks he still had in his hand onto the table, and ran out of the house.
When he arrived at the scene, the bar was surrounded by police. Traffic was disrupted, and some residents looked curious about the incident. Kang Min stepped forward, trying to get closer to the area that was heavily guarded by the police, but something felt strange. An uncomfortable feeling enveloped his heart.
In the crowd, Kang Min saw a familiar figure-Choi Sang Woo, the man who had talked to him about the big plan a while ago. Choi was talking to some policemen, his face serious and calculating.
Kang Min approached, then called out to him. "Choi Sang Woo!"
Choi turned his head, and their eyes met. There was something different in Choi's gaze this time-like there was a secret still hidden behind it.
"Min...," Choi said softly, "You came too."
"Why did Kim Dal become a victim?" asked Kang Min, still unable to believe what he had just heard. "What's really going on here?"
Choi sighed, then answered, "It's more complicated than you think. Kim Dal isn't just an ordinary victim. There's something bigger behind this. And it could be directly related to your family."
Kang Min was silent for a moment, trying to digest Choi's words. "Meaning... there's something bigger?" asked Kang Min, his eyes sharpening.
Choi nodded slowly. "You have to be ready, Min. This isn't over yet. Everything that happens-everything you meet-will get more complicated."
Kang Min walked quickly towards Kim Dal's lifeless body, but his thoughts were interrupted by another figure that suddenly appeared on the other side of the scene. It was Kang Soo Hyuk, his brother. His face looked devastated, looking like he had just received a heavy blow.
Kang Min was surprised to see the reaction of his brother who had always looked so strong and in control. Soo Hyuk stood stiffly, his eyes blank, as if he couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. His lips twitched, but no words came out. Only his hands were trembling.
Kang Min walked over, not knowing what to say. He knew how much influence Kim Dal had in his brother's life. Although Soo Hyuk often tried to mask those feelings, Kang Min knew that their relationship was more than just coworkers.
"Hyung..." Kang Min called out in a low voice, afraid that the wrong words would only make things worse.
Soo Hyuk finally turned his head, and Kang Min could see the despair in his eyes. For the first time, Soo Hyuk looked very fragile, even more fragile than Kang Min had ever imagined.
"He... he shouldn't be here, Min," Soo Hyuk said in a broken voice, almost like a whisper. "He doesn't deserve to be victimized like this."
Kang Min felt his heart cut to see his usually strong brother now so hurt. "Hyung, I know it's hard," he said, patting Soo Hyuk's shoulder lightly. "But we have to be strong. Kim Dal wouldn't want you to regret it like this."
Soo Hyuk lifted his head, eyes red and teary. "Min, I know what I have to do. But I never thought it would end like this." His voice began to tremble, and he turned around, looking at Kim Dal's lying body.
Kang Min could only stand beside him, feeling deep sadness. "It's not over yet, Hyung. We'll find out who's responsible. We won't just leave things as they are."
Soo Hyuk took a deep breath and nodded, although the pain on his face was still clearly visible. "You're right, Min. We won't let him die in vain."
Kang Min looked at his brother with determination. He knew it was going to be a long journey and full of obstacles, but he also knew one thing: They would not give up. Kim Dal, who had become a part of their lives, would never be forgotten.
