One night, a man who worked as a taxi driver stopped because a customer waved at him on the side of the road. When the customer got in, the stranger pointed a gun at him. In a threatening tone, the stranger ordered the driver to chase the car in front of him. Otherwise, he would lose his life.
Having no choice, the driver complied. When the two cars were almost parallel, the stranger lowered the taxi window with one hand, while the other hand kept the gun pointed at him. A bullet was fired, hitting the head of a woman sitting in the front car.
The stranger then ordered the driver to keep going, even through the red light. The road became chaotic. After a few minutes, the stranger contacted someone on his cell phone, asking them to be ready. When he arrived at a location, he ordered the driver to stop, then got out of the car and disappeared into the darkness.
The taxi driver returned home shaken. He hid the whole incident from his wife, but the guilt kept him from sleeping.
The next morning, at breakfast with his family, his wife turned on the television. The previous night's news came on, reporting the shooting of a wealthy woman in the middle of a city street. The man immediately felt anxious, but tried to remain calm.
After dropping his two sons off at school, he went to the office of the taxi company where he worked. Reluctantly, he asked to stop working. However, unbeknownst to him, the police had cooperated with his employer and arrested him on the spot.
In court, the man was found guilty of premeditated murder. Although he insisted that he was just a coerced victim, the evidence fabricated by the group of foreign men was too strong to resist. Eventually, he was sentenced to death.
His wife and two children, 15-year-old Kang Soo Hyuk and 10-year-old Kang Min, could only cry and mourn their fate. They knew that their father was slandered, but there was nothing they could do. The sense of loss and anger slowly grew into resentment in the hearts of the two children.
Years Later
Now, Kang Soo Hyuk has become the CEO of a big company, while Kang Min, who is still in high school, lives with their mother in a simple house.
In the house, Kang Min was watching an action movie in the living room leisurely, his feet up on the table, while enjoying a snack. Nearby, there was a glass cabinet housing his personal collection: an expensive boxing glove given by Soo Hyuk, a two-time boxing champion belt, a certificate, and several medals.
While Kang Min was engrossed, his mother called from the kitchen, asking for his help in preparing dinner. Kang Soo Hyuk was coming to have dinner with them. Lazily, Kang Min headed to the kitchen, grumbling, "Mom, why don't you just stay with Soo Hyuk? The house is small."
His mother just smiled and replied, "It's a gift from your father. I don't want to leave these memories yet."
When the bell rang, Kang Min rushed to open the door. However, his cheerful face turned a little sour when he saw a woman standing next to Soo Hyuk. That woman was Kim Dal, his brother's girlfriend.
Kang Min invited them in. At the dining table, things started to get serious. Soo Hyuk expressed his intention to marry Kim Dal. While his mother supported the decision, Kang Min was hesitant. He had seen Kim Dal meet an unknown man before, which raised suspicions.
Citing a stomachache, Kang Min left the dining table and went to his room. He covered his whole body with a blanket, thinking hard about Soo Hyuk's plan.
Kang Min's Daily Life
The next day, Kang Min prepared for school at Gangnam Global High School. He went downstairs for breakfast, flirting with his mother while asking for pocket money. His mom just smiled and gave him the money. Kang Min then left for school using an expensive sports bike gifted from Soo Hyuk.
At school, Kang Min is known as a cheerful student but also a troublemaker. He has three best friends who have always accompanied him since childhood: Lee Jong, a young man with pierced ears; Sung Jae, who is smart but also mischievous; and Kim Hanna, a tomboyish girl who often wears black bracelets.
Their class was famously united despite its mischief often being in the spotlight. One day, Kang Min challenges a group of mischievous students from another class to a basketball match. With passion and teamwork, their class won the match.
However, behind his cheerfulness, Kang Min held a slowly smoldering grudge, waiting for the right time to avenge the slander that had destroyed his family.
After the basketball game, Kang Min sat on a bench in the schoolyard with his three best friends. He stared ahead, as if thinking about something heavy. "I have big business to take care of," he said, his tone serious.
Lee Jong, who was sitting next to him, just raised an eyebrow and replied, "What business, Min? Your family again?"
Kang Min smiled slightly. "You'll find out soon enough," he replied as he leaned back in his chair, looking up at the sky.
Sung Jae and Kim Hanna looked at each other, they already understood that Kang Min wouldn't talk further if it wasn't time.
Later that night, Kang Min accidentally entered Soo Hyuk's office. He knew very well that his brother's laptop must have important information that could help. After opening a few files, his eyes fell on a suspicious email.
The email only contained a short message from someone named Choi Sang Woo: "Finish your assignment before the wedding."
Kang Min was silent for a moment, then read the message again carefully. "Who is this person?" he muttered quietly, while racking his brain trying to analyze.
He recorded the name in his mind, then started planning his next move to investigate further.
Kang Min had just saved the note about Choi Sang Woo's name when his cell phone vibrated. Lee Jong's name appeared on the screen.
"Yo, Min! What are you doing? Let's play PS!" Lee Jong exclaimed from the other side.
Kang Min snorted lightly. "Playing PS? How could I not, when I'm thinking about such a big thing and I'm interrupted by playing PS."
Sung Jae immediately joined in on the conversation over the phone, sounding noisy in the background. "I'm ready too, Min. Don't tell me you're still thinking about your family problems! C'mon bro, you need some entertainment."
Kim Hanna followed with a cheerful voice. "Come on, Min! You're already dizzy thinking about it, so playing PS can help you escape for a while."
Kang Min sighed, glancing for a moment at the laptop screen that was still open with the mysterious message. "Okay, I'll come. But just for a while, don't bother me for too long."
"Yesss!" they replied in unison, the sound of excitement could be heard from the other side.
After hanging up, Kang Min turned off the laptop and went to the living room. While walking, he thought, I'll deal with this later, I need a fresh mind first.
