The steady hum of machines filled the air, a cold and constant reminder of Ren Carter's prison. The room was plain and metallic, with bright lights that never seemed to dim. He had spent his whole life here, trapped by the people who called themselves "The Order." To them, Ren wasn't just a normal person. He was an experimental thing, something to be tested and controlled against his will.
Ren sat on the edge of his small bed, staring at the metal band on his wrist. It wasn't just a normal bracelet. It was a shackle, keeping his powers locked away and tracking every action he did. He'd tried to break it before, but nothing worked. Still, he refused to give up. Somewhere deep inside, he knew his chance to escape would come.
Then, the alarms in prison started ringing.
Red lights flashed from doors, and the loud, sharp sound of sirens filled the room. making irritation to prisoners, Ren froze for a moment; his heart started beating badly. He had no idea what was happening here, but it had to be something big. The heavy metal door to his room slid open automatically, and a figure appeared in front of him, dressed in a long, tattered cloak.
"Ren Carter?" the person asked, her voice calm but gentle.
"If you want to get out of this hell, then come with me. I will escape you from here.
I introduce myself; I am Lisa Cross.
Ren staring at her in shock. He'd heard of her name before. Lisa Cross, a fighter who had been a thorn in The Order's side for years. He didn't know why she was here and helping him, but he didn't hesitate. He nodded, stepping forward. Lisa handed him a sleek, softly glowing blue blade for self-defense.
"Stay close with me, "and don't let go of that blade. It's the only thing that keeps you safe."
They moved quickly through the long, dark hallways in the prison entrance. Lisa moved like she knew the place inside out and was well aware of every corner of this place, dodging guards and avoiding cameras by sneaking. Ren tried to keep up with Lisa's pace, but his heart racing, he felt tired as they evaded the patrols and reached a corner as footsteps echoed behind them.
"Stop them!" a voice shouted from behind, followed by the loud crack of gunfire.
He, his prison guard, saw sneaking intruders and prisoner Ren escaping.
Lisa swung, her blade flashing as she deflected every bullet with her remarkable speed. and Ren amazed by her flexibility and speed in battle. She turned to Ren, her voice urgent.
Use your blade! Free your mind; it will listen to you. Release your inner strength and trust that blade."
Ren hesitated first, but there was no time to think. He can't back off now. He swung the blade without thinking, and to his astonishment, a glowing energy shield appeared in front of him, stopping all the bullets from surrounding him. His eyes widened in shock and , but Lisa only nodded .
"Good. You can do it if you can try. Now let's go!" She shouted.
They ran until they burst through the final door of the prison, stepping into the cool and calm night air. Ren stopped for movement and started breathing heavily because he was so tired, and as he looked up at the stars, he was amazed by movement. He had never seen the sky before. It was an endless void, filled with countless shining lights flickering and moving. For a moment, he was too stunned that he froze for a moment.
"No time to rest," Lisa said, pulling him forward. "We're not safe yet."
She led him down to a hidden path to a small camp in the dark forest. There are two more people waiting for them to arrive. One was a young woman with short, messy hair, sitting in front of a glowing screen. She glanced up at Ren and smirked.
So, "This is the kid?" she said. "Looks like he's been through a lot." He looked so dusty he seemed like he came from a mine.
Amber, Lisa said, her tone sharp. "Give him a break. He's been locked up his whole life." and no time for making fun of
Next to Amber stood a tall boy with sharp eyes and a confident stance. He crossed his arms and frowned. asked Lisa
"Is he going to slow us down? . Can we depend on him?"
"That's enough of your doubts, Akira," Lisa snapped. She turned to Ren. "This is Amber and Akira. They are people I trust. They're part of the team now. We'll help you, but in return you have to trust us."
Ren smiled nervously and nodded at them. He didn't have much of a choice but to trust these people. For the first time in years, he wasn't alone. Now he has someone by his side to look after him. It felt strange, but it also gave him hope.
"I'm ready, he said quietly. You guys can depend on me."
Lisa smiled. "Good. Because your journey is just beginning."
As Ren sat nearby the campfire with them that night, the blade Lisa gave him felt strange to Ren; he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this weapon than he'd realized. The energy of this blade seemed alive, pulsing gently as if matching the rhythm of his heartbeat.
"That blade is special; you should take extra care of it," Lisa said.
sitting across from him. "It's not just an ordinary weapon, Ren. It is the divine blade that is connected to some unknown entity we don't know yet; you are the one who needs to find out how to master it.
"What do you mean by that?" Ren asked, his voice with a curious tone.
Lisa's expression grew serious. "The Order was experimenting on you for a reason . They think you're somehow connected to an ancient power. Something they've been trying to control for centuries."
Amber leaned forward, her eyes sharp. "They believe you're soul-linked to the
God of Time. The Eternal Watcher. He's said to control all timelines, and he is time itself, and legends say that he is the strongest being in the entire universe."
"To see everything that has ever existed and will exist before him. If they are correct, your power is beyond imagination."
Ren's mind confused with ominous information. ''The God of Time? It sounded like a made-up story to me. Yet something about their words resonated deep within him; he eventually knew whether it was true or not.
"The Order won't stop," Lisa continued. "They'll come after you, and they will use everything they have on you. You are an important being to them. If they capture you again, next time escape from that prison will be impossible for you. That's why we need to move fast and find solutions. We need to figure out what this power means and how to use it before they do."
Ren looked down at the blade again with a fascinated look, its light casting faint shadows on his face. He didn't fully understand what was happening in his life now, but one thing was clear: his life had just become much bigger than himself.
"I'll do whatever it takes; I will train more to be strong," he said with a blaze in his heart, gripping the blade tightly. "I defeat every one of them."
Lisa agreed, a small smile on her face breaking through her serious expression.
"Good. Now we'll need that fire; I know you can do it. We trust you."
And so they continued their journey under the stars. Ren's journey began; now he had to learn his truth and uncover the powers within him. The journey of the Eternal Watcher, the one who could shape time itself, will continue....
