While Park Su was still deliberating on his next move, the conversation inside continued, "But I also told you not to hurt Park Su, didn't I?"
Sun Muyang had always thought his plan was flawless, believing this man who had shown him so much care would approve of his actions since it would legitimize their relationship. He hadn't anticipated this sudden change in conversation, which left him feeling a bit panicked. He responded hurriedly, "You did say that, but this was the best option.
And there were so many zombies there; I, as a tier-two ability user, couldn't have fought them off without him taking the hit. I thought he wouldn't want me to die like that. Besides, I believe he would've felt little pain dying like that, just a quick end."
Park Su was surprised by the turn of events inside, but hearing Sun Muyang's cruelty left him utterly disgusted. He wondered to himself why he had ever fallen for such a person; was he truly that blind?
Just then, the other man spoke in a chillingly cold voice, "Oh? No pain? You dare say being torn apart by zombies is painless? You're truly cruel. But did you think by killing Park Su, I'd be with you?
You're wrong. I never liked you; I was kind to you only to make you leave Park Su on your own. But I never anticipated you'd be so vicious, that you'd actually kill him after wanting to break up with him. Had I known this would happen, I wouldn't have bothered with you. I did it because I saw how devoted Park Su was to you, knowing it was nearly impossible for him to leave you, yet you repaid his kindness with murder!"
Sun Muyang felt something was off about the man's words, especially with the growing killing intent in his voice, making his heart tremble. He looked at the man in surprise, "What do you mean by 'never liked me'? How could that be? You've been so good to me, found me energy stones, helped me gain abilities—how could you not like me?
If you didn't like me, why meet me every day? Why give me so much kindness? Now you're saying all this was for Park Su? You must be joking, right? How is that possible?"
"Joking!?" The man gave a cold laugh, suddenly reaching out to choke Sun Muyang's throat, "I've never joked with you. In all the time we've spent together, have I ever said I like you or that I would marry you?
I only ever advised you to break up with Park Su and not to hurt him. Wasn't that obvious enough? The one I've liked has always been Park Su. Or did you know this and that's why you were so ruthless to him?

"You choose him over me, and now you want to kill me for him? Are you saying your feelings for Park Su are genuine while mine for you are fake? Moreover, I refuse to believe that all you've done for me these days was because of Park Su!"
Cheng Mingxu's hand, with a swift motion, tore a gash across Sun Muyang's neck. It wasn't deep enough to kill him instantly, but blood flowed freely. Sun Muyang was taken aback that this man, who had always been so pleasant to him, would strike without warning. He frantically clutched his neck, but the bleeding didn't stop.
Park Su, standing at the door, caught the scent of blood, which immediately activated his cells, making him involuntarily take a step forward. This movement alerted the two inside to his presence.
Cheng Mingxu's eyes darkened as he rushed to the door, intent on killing Sun Muyang but not wanting to be caught in the act, which could harm his or his father's reputation.
Park Su was too shocked by what was happening inside to react quickly. By the time the door opened, he remembered he was a zombie and should avoid ability users, but it was too late to flee. He met Cheng Mingxu's gaze, momentarily stunned.
He hadn't interacted much with Cheng Mingxu due to their vastly different statuses; Cheng Mingxu was the second son of the city lord of Base S, and more enviably, he was a peak-tier-six ability user, specializing in the most potent offensive thunder element.
Park Su never thought he had much connection with Cheng Mingxu. Even trying to remember, they had only met a few times in the six months before being pushed into the zombie horde by Sun Muyang. These encounters didn't suggest any romantic interest; Cheng Mingxu would just come by, lounging with his legs crossed, watching him work.
He might have spoken a few words to him, but those words were either infuriating or dismissive, making it impossible to sense any affection from them.
So, when Cheng Mingxu claimed to like him, Park Su was tempted to curse out loud, "How the hell can I believe that?"
In Park Su's view, Cheng Mingxu probably fancied Sun Muyang's looks, and after discovering Sun Muyang's true nature, fearing he might be betrayed or harmed in the future, he decided to preemptively abandon him, using Park Su as an excuse.

Just as he was thinking, Cheng Mingxu shoved him towards the bleeding Sun Muyang, "He killed you; now you have the chance to kill him in revenge, let him taste being torn apart by zombies. It won't be in vain that you've become this neither human nor ghost."
The blood in front of him was undeniably tempting, but the thought that it belonged to Sun Muyang was revolting. He wanted him dead but not by consuming him.

Park Su had no interest in his words; to him, Cheng Mingxu's statements were likely just as false as his intentions were clear—to use him as a tool to kill Sun Muyang. Once he had served his purpose, Cheng Mingxu would kill him too. With his current zombie level, he was no match for Cheng Mingxu, only facing the prospect of being slaughtered.
