Chapter 60 - Chapter 59: The Terrifying Sisters (Part 2)

*Bang!*

Feng Xiong slammed his large palm down on the stone table, his face twisting with fury. "They're playing with us! They know we can't use arrows, so they've taken the heir to the top of Xiangque Tower to sunbathe! I don't know where the heir found these two monsters, but thousands of soldiers can't even touch them. Worse still, they only injure people, not kill them! Why must they always go for the buttocks? After this, everyone might as well just stay in bed and eat all day!"

His words were full of frustration, and his beard trembled slightly with his anger.

"Chief, at least say something encouraging! The men are terrified of those two monsters," the commander of the third battalion complained.

Feng Xiong sighed, rubbing his temples. "I don't know how much longer we can drag this out. The city and the court are in chaos. Imperial edicts are coming down one after another, and for us, they feel like death sentences."

Just then, Old Zhou, the commander of the fifth battalion, burst into the tent with an unexpected grin. "Chief, they've made a demand."

Feng Xiong's eyes brightened with anticipation. "A demand? Good! What do they want?"

Old Zhou chuckled. "They want one hundred plates of *Sparrow Soul Return*."

The room fell into stunned silence.

"*Sparrow Soul Return*?! One hundred plates?!" Everyone's jaws dropped. The dish was a rare and legendary delicacy, said to restore the soul of anyone who ate it. It was so valuable that even a single plate could cost as much as an estate. To ask for a hundred plates was an insane demand.

Meanwhile, on the rooftop of Xiangque Tower, three figures basked in the afternoon sun.

"Heh, Junior Brother, isn't this fun?" Hu Bai grinned as he looked down at the soldiers below, who appeared ridiculous in their attempts to control the situation.

In contrast, Yan Huo sighed helplessly. "Senior Brother, don't go overboard. We should leave soon. The more time we waste here, the more people will show up."

"Ha! Didn't you say the timing isn't right? Now you want to leave? I just ordered food!" Hu Bai was not about to stop until he got his meal.

Hu Bai then turned to look at the quivering Chen Qing, who was clinging to the rafters. "What do you think, my Lord?" he asked with a sly smile.

Chen Qing, already terrified out of his wits, stammered, "Y-yes! You two... you two great heroes... please let me down! It's too high up here... I promise I'll accompany you both... and eat... eat... eat..."

"Ha! I knew you'd come around," Hu Bai laughed. "But if you want down, you can jump. Otherwise, I'll throw you down and let the soldiers catch you."

Chen Qing panicked. "N-no! I think I'll stay here and eat! Ha ha... no need to throw me down..."

Yan Huo looked down at the soldiers below. After Hu Bai had injured a few hundred of them, no one dared to approach again. They merely shouted from below, trying to reason with them.

"The feeling of looking down on everyone from above is quite nice, huh? I used to be just a poor kid hiding in the mountains. Heh!" Yan Huo said with a light chuckle.

But suddenly, he sensed something. A powerful killing intent!

"Ah! That damn fox, still playing around!" Yan Huo said with a frown. "We're about to have some *guests*." He glanced in the direction of Longshan.

As expected, the people from Longshan would not just stand by while they caused such chaos in the capital. The mystical and serene Longshan suddenly erupted in dazzling, multicolored light. A deep, resonant voice echoed across the entire capital.

"I was worried about where to find you. Now, you dare to wreak havoc in the capital? Are you tired of living?"

Two beams of radiant, seven-colored light shot down from Longshan, speeding toward Xiangque Tower. In the blink of an eye, they arrived above the tower. The people of the capital and the soldiers below were all in shock, witnessing the miraculous sight.

"It's true! The immortals of Longshan are real!" someone exclaimed.

"The immortals are here to deal with the monsters!" others whispered in awe.

At that moment, two figures appeared in mid-air, floating effortlessly. They were both dressed in white robes, exuding an aura of profound power.

One of them, on the left, had a gentle and refined appearance, resembling a cultured scholar. The other, on the right, had a gaunt face, with a distinct scar above his left eye. He stared coldly at Yan Huo and Hu Bai.

"Immortals? Hmph!" Yan Huo sneered. He turned to Hu Bai. "Senior Brother, they're two people, just like us. One is at the late stage of *Dan Transformation*, the other is close to it. You choose one."

"Junior Brother, you're really putting me in a tough spot," Hu Bai said nervously. "I'm only at the mid-stage of *Dan Transformation*. I don't have any spiritual artifacts to help me, and you want me to face one of them?"

Yan Huo chuckled. "I was just joking. I didn't mean to make it hard on you. Look, while you may not be able to beat them, your speed is something they can't easily match. I say we lure their two apprentices out of here and take them down one by one. You've already caused all this trouble because of your greed for food, after all."

Hu Bai sighed inwardly. "You're getting more and more cunning, Junior Brother. Who knows, maybe you'll sell me out one day."

Yan Huo just smiled. "You know I would never deceive you, Senior Brother."

And with that, the battle was about to begin. The two immortals from Longshan were here, but the real challenge was still ahead. How would Yan Huo and Hu Bai face this new threat?
