"So beautiful."
The young man, with a fragile appearance, sitting on the bed, whispered as he watched the sun rise in the west through the open window.
The sign that a new day had arrived brought immense joy to Yun Ge. For someone allergic to sunlight, these early hours, when the sun was still not strong, were magical.
With a smile on his face, he kept watching until the sun became stronger and started to burn his skin. Quickly, he extended his hand and closed the window. The room, which had been lit, was now completely dark.
Carefully rising to avoid any accidents, he got out of bed and walked to the switch, three meters away, and turned on the light.
Yun Ge's small room was illuminated. In the center, a single bed. In the corner, a wardrobe. A desk with a computer on top, and a wooden chair below, leaning against the white wall.
He smiled and walked to the desk to devote himself to his second favorite hobby: reading web novels. As someone who lived in isolation because of his illness, this was one of the few activities he could do without hurting himself.
He didn't like living like this. His dream was to explore the world outside, walk under the sun, go to school, make friends.
But he knew that was impossible. Even with all the technology available, his illness had no cure. No matter what he tried, his skin would always burn when exposed to sunlight.
Sighing, he sat at the desk and turned on the computer. Even though he had never gone to school, he knew how to read. The kind nurse Song had taught him. He learned quickly, impressing her so much that she called him a genius.
Remembering the sincere compliments, he smiled. Despite the difficulties, he didn't complain. He knew that other people faced even worse situations.
He had heard from the nurse about people who couldn't walk, had lost their vision, or died from cancer and other serious illnesses.
That's why he valued his life. Despite the limitations, he could walk, see, and go out at night.
When the computer booted up, he opened a blue app and began reading. Hours passed, until a noise coming from the door made him stop.
Turning off the computer, he walked to the door. He turned the handle and opened it, finding Nurse Song, with her black hair and green eyes, wearing a white coat and holding a strange purple stone.
"Nurse Song, what is that?" Yun Ge asked, his eyes fixed on the stone, filled with great curiosity. It wasn't every day that something strange appeared in his life.
The nurse didn't answer immediately. She just pointed to the bed. "Sit down. I have something important to tell you. Depending on your choice, your illness could be cured... or your death could be accelerated."
This made Yun Ge even more curious, and tears began to fall from his eyes. He was emotional. Finally, maybe he could walk during the day...
Feeling emotional, he ran to the bed and sat down, anxiously waiting for the nurse's words.
"Yun Ge... Don't get too excited. This could accelerate your death," Song Yuhan warned, walking toward him. Sitting next to him, she placed one hand on his neck and, with the other, raised the stone. "Do you have any idea what this is?"
Yun Ge shook his head, indicating that he had no idea.
Waiting for this response, Song Yuhan sighed, and her voice became serious. "Little Ge, what I'm about to tell you could change your view of the world."
"Ah? Is this stone something supernatural?" Yun Ge asked, seeing Song's serious expression.
"Yes..." She replied, and when she was about to continue, she saw the young man gently take her hand and push her onto the bed.
???
"What are you doing?" She asked, confused. If it were another man, she might think he had improper intentions, but since it was Yun Ge, she knew that someone as pure as him would never do anything against her.
"Really?... I said that as a joke, but is this really a supernatural stone?" Yun Ge asked, excited. Could the fiction from the web novels he read become reality?
"-"
Seeing Yun Ge's expression, with his long, Black hair so close to her face, Song Yuhan was speechless. She raised her hand and pushed him away, standing up quickly.
"Don't do that with another woman, okay?" Song Yuhan said, trying to convey some common sense to Yun Ge, who was now completely focused on the stone, ignoring her words.
Realizing she was being ignored, Song Yuhan frowned, but remembering the boy's illness, she set it aside and became serious again.
"Little Ge," she said, lifting his chin to look into his eyes, "pay attention. As I was saying, this stone, also known as the Dimensional Stone, is something that defies the rules of the world we know.
It was discovered ten years ago, during research on the thawing of the polar ice caps. It has the power to take you to another world. How does it work? Don't ask me, I don't know. This information is only available to the wealthiest families."
When she finished speaking, she looked at Yun Ge, who was about to say something, but she interrupted him by placing her hand over his lips.
"Don't say anything yet. Now that you know what this stone is, tell me: are you willing to risk entering this unknown world, which may cure you, but could also kill you at any moment? Or would you prefer to live quietly on Earth?"
Removing her hand, she looked intently at the boy, who seemed more excited than ever.
"Of course, I'll choose the first option. I'm not afraid," Yun Ge replied without hesitation. He was thrilled. He wanted to see if he could cure his illness and explore this world where immortality wasn't just a dream.
"Yun Ge!" Song Yuhan shouted. "This is no joke, you could really die," she said, with a serious tone, looking at the young man, who, instead of worrying, just put his hands on his cheeks.
"I know. The cultivation world is dangerous: the strong devour the weak, arrogant young masters want to exterminate families, betrayals between brothers and lovers... I'm already tired of reading about it."
