Kayode ventured further into the Demonlands, the dark aura of the region growing thicker as he pressed on. His claws still glowed faintly from the power of the demons he had absorbed, and his Bloodline Devourer thrummed with readiness for more prey. Yet, something different lingered in the air, an aura ancient and commanding.
"Oba," Kayode muttered, his senses on edge. "Do you feel that? It's not like the others."
Perched on his shoulder, Oba flicked his tail lazily, his golden eyes scanning the horizon. "Oh, I feel it," he said, his tone laced with boredom. "Another beast trying to throw its weight around. Let's see how it compares to the last few disappointments."
Before Kayode could respond, the ground beneath them shook violently. From the distance, a massive creature emerged, its body gleaming with an otherworldly blue light. The beast stood on four muscular legs, its scales shimmering like gemstones, each one etched with ancient runes. Its long, serpentine neck curved majestically, and its eyes burned with an intense azure flame.
It was unmistakable—a beast with the bloodline of an Azure Dragon, a sacred lineage that commanded respect and fear throughout the cultivation world.
The beast roared, its voice echoing across the land and shaking the very air. The sound was filled with disdain and anger, as if it had sensed the challenge posed by Kayode's presence.

Oba yawned audibly, stretching on Kayode's shoulder. "Oh, great, another one who thinks a sacred bloodline makes them special. How tedious."
The Azure Dragon Beast's eyes narrowed in fury. "You insolent feline! Do you not recognize the power of an Azure Dragon? I could crush you with a single swipe of my claws!"
Oba hopped off Kayode's shoulder, landing gracefully on the ground. He looked up at the towering beast with a smirk. "I recognize it. I just don't care. You're not even a full Azure Dragon—just a cheap imitation with a drop of sacred blood. If you were the real deal, I might have been interested. But you? You're barely worth my attention."
The beast's roar was deafening as it lunged at Oba, its massive claws slashing toward the black dragon cat with terrifying speed.
"Oba!" Kayode shouted, instinctively stepping forward to protect his companion.
But Oba didn't flinch. With a single graceful leap, he dodged the attack effortlessly, landing on the beast's back as though it were nothing.
"You're too slow," Oba said casually, digging his claws lightly into the beast's scales. "And too arrogant for your own good."
The Azure Dragon Beast twisted and thrashed, trying to shake Oba off, but the black dragon cat held firm.
Kayode, meanwhile, activated his Bloodline Devourer, his Nascent Soul glowing brightly as he prepared to confront the beast. He could feel the immense power radiating from its bloodline, and he knew that absorbing its essence would be no easy feat.
"Oba, keep it distracted!" Kayode shouted, summoning his spear as he charged forward.
Oba snorted. "Distracted? This thing couldn't touch me if it tried."
The Azure Dragon Beast roared again, turning its focus to Kayode. Its mouth opened wide, unleashing a torrent of azure flames that scorched the earth as they surged toward him.
Kayode's body moved instinctively, his spear slicing through the flames with precision. He leapt into the air, his claws extending as he aimed for the beast's vulnerable neck.
With a powerful swipe, Kayode struck, his claws glowing with the combined strength of the demons he had absorbed. The beast howled in pain as the attack pierced its defenses, and Kayode landed gracefully on the ground.

Activating the Bloodline Devourer, Kayode focused on the Azure Dragon Beast. The air around him crackled with energy as the technique took hold, drawing the beast's bloodline into his body. The Azure Dragon Beast let out one final roar before collapsing, its massive body disintegrating into shimmering particles.
