Keith was stunned beyond measure...
At once, he scanned the area again, trying to gather knowledge of everything around. After some moments of scanning the room, he discovered one thing for sure...
This room wasn't possessing a picture of the modern building style on Earth, it was completely different, and local.
He raised his gaze to the woman that just approached him in the room again, and it was still the same person he had saw.
Pale skin, long dark hair, matured enough to be a mother of five but have none...
'It's truly her! It's Matilda Haas!'
'But hold on... Where is the king's second wife then... The last thing I read about her in the novel was when she was sent out of the Royal Palace. Her only child... Ahh, I can't remember his name... Or did he truly had a name?'
'I remember that he was banished from the kingdom after the king noticed that he didn't possess any affinity for magic. He didn't awaken after an expected six month, just like every other child in the kingdom.'
'Not wanting her child to be banished alone and being taken to another woman in a very distant kingdom, the king's second wife insisted on going with her child, and the king angrily divorced her for that, banishing them both, including her most trusted servant, Matilda.'
'Ahh, yes. I remember her name. Queen Anice. The one who had seven miscarriages before giving birth to the last one that stayed...'
'But I can't still remember her son's name. Oh perhaps it's because it was never mentioned in the novel. He was an extra.'
Some memories flashed into Keith's head the more gazed at Matilda, but he was stunned why this was happening.
'How come have I transmigrated into Fallen Mages? Is this a dream or something.'
"Some staring, Elon. Answer me, what was your nightmare?"
Again, Matilda asked with a worried expression, but she only worsened his perplexity.
'My name is Elon in the novel... But I completely remembered that there was no character with such name. Crap!'
Keith tried to shrug the shock off after a moment and stood up from the cotton mattress.
"Sorry, ma'am. I only had a bad sleep. That's all... There's nothing wrong with me," Keith said.
"Really? But you have been acting strange since you woke up... It's all awkward around you now," Matilda furrowed her brows.
"I said I'm fine, ma'am. I'm good," Keith said.
"Okay then," Matilda had to believe him. "Just go ahead to wipe off and get ready for your meal."
Keith had no idea what she meant, but he instantly nodded and left the room at once.
"Ma'am??? But he used to call me Mother. What's wrong?" Matilda glared confusedly as she bite her lips...
Meanwhile, Keith walked out of the room, coming out to observe the environment. At first sight, he spotted countless cottages, all made of brown, hard timbers. These cottages were built in ranges, as they formed a large pathway that seemed to lead to a mountain far ahead.
Keith sighted the colossal mountain range ahead, covered in thick, white fog... One of the attributes of Edon, the world where the novel Fallen Mages was set in.
After noticing the cottages, he turned to the actual building he had just came out from.
'A cottage too... This most be village.'
'But I don't think there was even a time when the scene of a village was displayed in the novel except for the village the main character visited to learn the Arcane Art from an old mage. Matilda was never there, not even this Elon of a guy...'
Keith sighed.
He decided to calm down and wipe off after those reflections... He understood the meaning of that term after some certain remembrance, recollecting that wiping off actually meant that he should wash his face and hair with some water in the big water pot at the side of the cottage.
Keith approached the water pot and suddenly noticed the image of his new self.
What reflected on the water was youth with pale skin and jet-black curly short hair. He appeared to possess a slim physique, and cute brown eyes...
'This guy seems to be handsome, unlike my old, terribly ugly self. Well, this is the only thing I like about this situation. The rest are shit!'
Keith observed Elon for a few minutes before finally fetching some water on both palms to wash his face.
After three washes, he collected a small white cloth at the side and wiped his wet face.
Keith went back inside the cottage right after... A few questions had lingered inside him, and he wanted to know some things at the moment. Although he knew he had transmigrated into Fallen Mages as an extra character who wasn't even mentioned or didn't appear, he definitely didn't know when and where he had come.
Matilda already served his meal before he stepped back in. It was some kind of white potatoes with strange vegetables as expected of a Salvadoran dish, but Keith was visibly not interested.
"Eat a lot. You really need it," Matilda advised.
"No. I don't think I'm hungry," Keith muttered.
"Why? What's wrong, Elon?" Matilda glared again and sat beside him. "Why are you acting so strange suddenly?"
"I need to ask you something... Don't think I'm crazy, but I really need you to answer me," Keith begged.
"Okay, Elon. What is it?" Matilda seemed to be calm, which gave Keith some additional motivation to ask.
"What is this place?"
"Fogmount Village."
"Which kingdom?"
"Well... We... It's not really in a kingdom. Just an unpopular poor village."
"Where is Kingdom Salvador?"
"A hundred miles away."
"Who are you?"
"Wait... What? Why are you asking me such ridiculous questions? You don't know me?" Matilda blinked confusedly...
Keith thought wide and noticed that he had asked beyond the standard and decided to stop...
"I'm sorry... I'm trying to get something straight," he lied.
"Strange. Anyway, I'm Matilda Haas, in case you are trying to get something straight as you said," she forced a grin.
'Matilda Haas... So, it's true then! This is definitely Fallen Mages!' He shouted inwardly.
"Please one more question, ma'am. One more," Keith had to disturb again.
"Okay, go on..." Matilda couldn't decline.
"What's happening currently in Kingdom Salvador?" He asked.
At that moment, Matilda seemed to be surprised by his question, but he shrugged at once seeing his curious face.
Keith didn't know why, but he sensed that she was surprised that he knew about Kingdom Salvador...
"Kingdom Salvador... Is currently in a war against The Negators... It's been a one month long war now, but everyone believes Aiden will defeat them and save the world." She replied.
'A war? With The Negators? Aiden? Save the world?'
Keith flinched that instant...
He quickly stood up from the mattress at once...
"I am going to Kingdom Salvador!" Keith declared.
"What? No way! Do you want to die?" Matilda panicked.
"That doesn't matter right now. I need to go now!"
Shockingly, he discovered that he had just appeared in the novel world when the war was still on. This was around Chapter 245 when Aiden, the main character of the novel led the mages to confront the Negators... He remembered that the war lasted for a month and two days before The Negators gained victory, and Aiden was enslaved...
'This is just the right time to show up! I need to join this battle and change something...'
'Maybe... Just maybe... My appearance can make a difference...'
Just when he made this statement, a sudden robotic voice sounded in his head, frightening the heck out of him that instant.
