Chapter 16 - Chapter 15: A Rift Between Worlds

The forest surrounding E-Rantel lay still, the aftermath of Momon's heroic deeds leaving an impression on the adventurers and citizens alike. Valtherion, however, observed the unfolding events from a distance. The Sword of Darkness party was avenged, and the threads of fate seemed to align perfectly with Nazarick's goals.

Yet, Valtherion felt a growing restlessness. He had tested his omniversal powers, influenced events in subtle ways, and remained the enigmatic trump card for Nazarick. Still, there was more to uncover, more dimensions to explore, and infinite possibilities to pursue.

The Summoning

It was during one such moment of introspection that the omniverse itself responded to Valtherion's desires. Standing atop a hill overlooking the plains, he felt a sudden pull—an irresistible force tugging at the core of his being.

[A/n: I was so damn bored with this arc 😅]

"Interesting," he mused, his voice carrying a mix of amusement and curiosity.

The world around him blurred, the stars in the sky spinning wildly as the omniversal energy coursing through him activated on its own. This wasn't Nazarick summoning him, nor was it any outside force. It was him, subconsciously triggering the Omnivoyant Rift, a phenomenon that connected countless realities.

The very fabric of the world tore open, a vortex of swirling colors and pulsating light consuming him in an instant.

Arrival in a New World

When the light subsided, Valtherion found himself standing in a lush, vibrant forest unlike any he had encountered before. The air was thick with magical energy, and the flora seemed to pulse with life. Above him, the sky was a brilliant shade of blue, with twin suns casting their warm light.

"This is... peculiar," Valtherion muttered, scanning his surroundings. His omniversal senses began to adjust, attuning themselves to the new world's energy signature.

He extended his hand, summoning the Nullifier Codex. The grimoire floated before him, its pages flipping rapidly as it analyzed the realm's unique structure.

"Ah, a world governed by magicules and unique evolutionary pathways. Fascinating."

As he delved deeper into the codex's findings, a distant roar caught his attention. The sound was primal, powerful, and brimming with hostility.

Encounter with a Local Threat

Curious, Valtherion made his way toward the source of the noise. He arrived at a clearing where a massive orc-like creature, easily twice the size of a regular human, stood amidst a group of frightened goblins. The beast's tusks gleamed, and its eyes burned with hunger as it prepared to strike.

The goblins cowered, their frail bodies trembling as they pleaded for mercy.

Valtherion stepped forward, his presence immediately drawing the attention of both the orc and the goblins.

"Another weakling?" the orc growled, baring its teeth.

Valtherion tilted his head, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "Weak? Let's see about that."

The orc lunged, its massive club descending upon Valtherion with terrifying force. But before it could even graze him, Valtherion raised a single finger. A barrier of pure omniversal energy materialized, shattering the club upon impact.

The orc staggered back, confusion and fear replacing its confidence.

"Now, let me show you the difference between us," Valtherion said.

He extended his hand, and from the void emerged Telysia, the Voidbinder, her form radiating an otherworldly darkness.

"Bind it," Valtherion commanded.

Telysia didn't hesitate. With a flick of her wrist, tendrils of shadow erupted from the ground, ensnaring the orc and lifting it into the air. The creature struggled, roaring in defiance, but it was futile. The shadows tightened, crushing its massive form until it was nothing more than a lifeless husk.

The goblins watched in stunned silence, their eyes wide with awe and terror.

The Goblins' Plea

As the orc's body crumbled into dust, the goblins fell to their knees, bowing before Valtherion and Telysia.

"Great one," one of them stammered, his voice shaking, "thank you for saving us! Please, grant us your protection!"

Valtherion regarded the goblins with mild interest. He hadn't intended to play the role of a savior, but their plea intrigued him. This world, with its vibrant energy and unique inhabitants, was a playground waiting to be explored.

"I am not your savior," he said, his voice calm but firm. "But if you prove useful, I may consider granting you my favor."

The goblins exchanged nervous glances before nodding vigorously. "Yes, great one! We will serve you!"

Exploring the New World

Valtherion dismissed Telysia, her form dissolving into the void as he began to walk deeper into the forest. The goblins trailed behind him, their loyalty now unwavering.

As he ventured further, Valtherion's omniversal senses continued to gather information about the world. He learned of the existence of powerful beings like Demon Lords, unique monsters, and the intricate balance of power that governed the land.

"This world holds potential," he mused. "Perhaps I shall stay for a while, observe its dynamics, and leave my mark where I see fit."

The chapter ends with Valtherion gazing toward the horizon, a faint smirk on his lips as he contemplates the limitless opportunities this new world presents.
