Wu Shen's first day began with a harsh knock on his door.
"Get up! The head servant has called for you," came a stern voice. Wu Shen opened his eyes and found himself in a small room with simple furnishings.
Still adjusting to his new body, Wu Shen slowly rose. His new body was small and slim, but he could feel strange power coursing through it.
The elderly servant led him to the grand hall of the Li family, where he was given his new task. "You are now the personal servant of Miss Muwan. Make sure you carry out your duties well. She is not only an heir but also the beloved child of this family."
Wu Shen nodded. Although being a servant seemed like a lowly position, he knew this was an opportunity to learn more about this new world.
In the main pavilion, Wu Shen met Li Muwan. The eight-year-old girl stood near the window, wearing a simple white dress that contrasted with her long black hair. Her face was gentle, but her eyes radiated intelligence.
"Are you my new servant?" Li Muwan asked with a friendly smile.
Wu Shen bowed respectfully. "Yes, Miss. I am Wu Shen."
Li Muwan chuckled softly. "You're too formal. I don't like servants who are too stiff. Do you know how to make tea?"
Wu Shen shook his head. "Not yet, Miss. But I can learn."
Li Muwan smiled. "Alright. I'll teach you."
That day, Wu Shen began his new life as a servant. He prepared tea, cleaned the pavilion, and accompanied Li Muwan as she studied. Although simple, Li Muwan always treated him kindly, making Wu Shen feel appreciated.
Night fell, and Wu Shen sat in the small garden behind the pavilion. Under the moonlight, he tried to understand his body.
As he closed his eyes, he felt two distinct flows of energy. The first was from the sunlight he had absorbed throughout the day, flowing with great power. The second, subtler energy, was the spiritual energy from this world, enveloping the air around him.
Wu Shen tried to draw in the spiritual energy, but his body resisted. Still, he didn't give up. Little by little, he forced his body to accept the spiritual energy, creating an odd harmony with the solar energy within him.
"I need to understand this," he muttered. "If I want to survive in this world, I need to learn to control both of these powers."
Wu Shen's days as a servant were filled with small, precious moments. He woke up early to clean the garden and prepare cultivation books for Li Muwan. During his free time, he secretly practiced, trying to understand his body's powers further.
Li Muwan often spoke with him, sharing stories about her family and life as the heir. Though still young, Li Muwan had great responsibilities, and Wu Shen often saw her vulnerable side.
"Wu Shen," Li Muwan called one day.
"Yes, Miss?"
"Have you ever felt lonely?" Li Muwan asked suddenly.
Wu Shen paused. "I… I'm not sure. But I think, as long as there are people who care, loneliness doesn't feel as heavy."
Li Muwan smiled slightly. "You're strange. But I'm glad you're here."
Tensions began to rise within the Li family when Li Muwan became the target of intrigues. One day, Wu Shen found Li Muwan sitting alone in the back garden, her eyes red.
"Miss, are you alright?" Wu Shen asked, concerned.
Li Muwan shook her head. "I'm fine. I'm just tired of all this."
Wu Shen felt anger rise within him. Though he was only a servant, he wanted to protect Li Muwan from all threats. However, he knew his current strength was still too weak.
That night, Wu Shen sat under the moonlight, focusing his mind on the two sources of his power. The solar energy flowed strongly, while the spiritual energy gradually entered, creating harmony within him.
"I have to become stronger," he murmured. "Not just for myself, but to protect the people who matter."
His journey had only just begun.
