The first wave of Goblin attacks finally subsided.
The two sat upon the wooden planks, catching their breath, ever alert for the next assault.
"Did you add any points to your attributes after leveling up?"
"Yeah, two points in physique and strength, one in another."
"Ah."
It seemed that simply relying on the attributes granted by leveling up would not suffice. Currently, there were very few known ways to acquire attributes. Apart from the initial attributes tied to one's class and those granted by leveling, there were only a few other means: talents, passives, and the rare chances to gain attributes through S-level equipment or attribute potions.
Unfortunately, both were expensive, not something an ordinary person like Shen Mo could afford.
Even Lord Xue, at his peak, probably only had around 300-400 points in attributes.
However, Shen Mo had "Mimic's Touch," which made acquiring attributes seem much easier. He could simply kill monsters to gain them.
In fact, if Shen Mo so desired, with just level 1 monsters, he could likely catch up to Lord Xue in terms of attributes...
In hindsight, "Mimic's Touch" seemed almost... overpowered.
Based on the attributes obtained from killing monsters, the Rock Hound was associated with agility, and the Goblin Warrior with strength, each granting the corresponding attribute. It seemed that to improve specific attributes, one would need to seek out monsters of the same type.
Shen Mo opened his attribute panel to assess his progress so far:
Name: Shen MoLevel: Lv. 2Experience: 40%Strength: 23Agility: 15Mind: 8Physique: 6
Shen Mo raised his shield, which was noticeably lighter than before. It seemed that attributes directly affected the state of his body.
Right! Loot the bodies!
Excited, Shen Mo rushed to the bottom of the stairs, eager for the moment he'd been waiting for.
Goblin Dagger, Dagger... Another Dagger...
F-grade? Ugh, useless junk...
Healing Ointment? Not bad! One bottle... two bottles... fourteen bottles!
He tossed nine bottles to Jiang Yixian, saying, "Here, you need them more than I do!"
Greedy Plunder Triggered
D*mn, the trigger rate is a bit low!

Hmm? This is good, it's practically tailored for me! Learning it!

Wait? It leveled up! Looting bodies can level up skills!
Holy crap! It seems like my skills are forming a perfect loop...
Shen Mo pushed open the cabin door and gazed at the distant horizon. "We need to move to a new location."
"Agreed. Next time, it won't just be level 3 Goblin Warriors," Jiang Yixian nodded.
The two reached a consensus; once they returned to their world, Goblins would be no match for them!
Shen Mo and Jiang Yixian both activated their beacons, and two beams of light flashed as they returned to the training ground.
Surprisingly, the field was still filled with players. It seemed everyone was trying to make the most of their time to break into the elite school rankings.
"How's the harvest today?"
"Don't even mention it! Didn't even reach halfway to level 1!"
Along the way, Shen Mo heard nothing but complaints.
"The rookie dungeon is packed! I can't get a single monster!"
"Yeah, some noble kid gathered a group to monopolize the monsters. Wouldn't let anyone near, it's so annoying!"
"Alright, stop complaining, don't let anyone hear you. Let's see how tomorrow goes."
Not even level 1? That really is slow.
Shen Mo looked at his progress, just over 40% to level 2. He was still debating whether to grind a bit more on Goblins.
After hearing the complaints, he felt somewhat relieved.
Especially since his pockets were full of sellable gear and healing ointment. Those items could bring in a decent sum.
At this moment, many students had just completed their class transitions, and not all schools provided initial gear like their school did.
With that thought, Shen Mo waved Jiang Yixian off and headed straight for the trading hall.
To avoid being recognized as a hidden class player, Shen Mo covered his face with a cloth.
Only then did he dare to list all his items in the trading hall.
To his surprise, five bottles of healing ointment sold almost instantly. Apparently, 400 per bottle was too low...
Then came the daggers. Though they were F-grade, they were cheap and practical. Over twenty were snatched up quickly for more than 3,000!
With a huge sum of money in hand, Shen Mo turned over the trading hall in search of something useful.
"Level C Skill: Blade Storm? That looks good!"
It was a common skill for warrior-type classes, priced reasonably. It could both attack and defend when used.
"Bought!"
Shen Mo gritted his teeth, sold his E-grade longsword, added some savings, and purchased an A-grade one-handed hammer.
Back at his home, he immediately took out the Blade Storm skill scroll:
C-level: Blade StormUse your weapon to whip up a violent wind around you.Class Limitation: Main combat class, warrior (defensive specialization excluded).Weapon Limitation: Two-handed axes, two-handed swords.
Limitations? Shen Mo glanced at his SS-grade passive All-Knowing, and smiled faintly...
Skill Learning Successful
Looking at the skill's attributes, he quickly realized a problem: why was there no cooldown listed?
Wasn't it taught that every skill had a "cooldown period" after use?
So, he called up his character panel again:
Name: Shen MoLevel: Lv. 2Experience: 40%Strength: 9Agility: 7Mind: 8Physique: 6Class: Universal MasterClass Level: SSClass Rarity: Unique Hidden ClassClass Category: LifestylePassives: SS-level: All-Knowing, E-level: Basic Goblin Combat TechniquesSkills: SS-level: Mimic's Touch Lv. 1, E-level: Greedy Plunder Lv. 2, C-level: Blade Storm Lv. 1
It felt like something was missing...
So, he hurriedly registered a new account and posted a thread on the class transition forum.
[Do your skills have cooldowns? Is there a blue bar or energy bar?]
Soon, responses flooded in:
[Are you a Cloud-based class transition? How could there be no cooldown?][I'm a mage, there's a blue bar and a cooldown. Not sure about other classes.][I'm a warrior, I have rage points.][What are you thinking? Even hidden classes have cooldowns!][You can't just spam skills, no such luck!][Is this account just trolling? Who doesn't know this?][A unique hidden lifestyle class came out of First High today, ask them if they have cooldowns.][Too bad, Dragon Country finally got a unique one, but it's a lifestyle class...][I agree, I was there! The anomaly appeared! The obelisk crashed down like a comet, I thought it was something amazing, but it turned out to be nothing.][Yeah, I've got a video of it!][Wait! He was personally received by Xue Shen?! The #1 player in the country, Xue Yifeng! What's going on?!][That guy's in our class, and he even created a portal in the newbie dungeon.][A portal?! You're making stuff up now!]
Shen Mo clicked on the video.
He saw the rainbow curtain that stretched across the sky, the massive obelisk falling like a comet, and the final shockwave of energy...
Holy crap!
I made that big of a scene?!
Now, I'm famous nationwide...
So, he quietly deleted his post...
