Chapter 1 - The Disappearance

20th December, 21XX

This is the New York Times reporting on an event that has left the entire world in shock and turmoil. 10 individuals have mysteriously vanished without a trace. The day had started like any other—cold, chilly, and unassuming. Grocery stores bustled with customers, children played their games in the streets, and people went about their routines. But as the clock struck noon, the ordinary turned extraordinary.

A massive, translucent announcement appeared in the sky, visible from every corner of the planet. The announcement took the form of an otherworldly script like that of novels and their system, glowing faintly in shades of gold and crimson, suspended high above, showing 50 faces each with things like name and lvl. Suddenly, individual screens materialized before every human being, displaying enigmatic text in a language no one had ever seen before. At first, there was silence—a stunned stillness as people tried to comprehend what was happening but to no avail.

Then it came—the voice,oh that dreaded voice which made the hair of every one stand up.

Deep, resonant, and ancient, it reverberated through the air like a force of nature, silencing even the loudest screams and panicked whispers. It spoke, not in a language anyone understood, but somehow its meaning was clear to all who heard it and with such ease that it seemed like child play to the voice.

"To everyone who is listening, be honored that your race has been chosen for the Sacred Trial. As the Trial is beyond the limits of your understanding, you will be paired with equally ignorant races to level the playing field. The ones chosen are the ten strongest souls of your Earth."

The voice paused, letting the weight of its declaration sink in. Across the globe, people stood frozen in fear and disbelief. A wave of panic began to spread like wildfire, but before it could reach its peak, the voice continued.

"You all might be wondering why you should partake in such an event. The answer is simple: to entertain us and, more importantly, to prevent the destruction of your world. The worlds that remain standing by the end of the Trial will be honored as the rightful owners of the others. The defeated... will cease to exist."

The implications of the statement sent humanity into chaos. In major cities, people screamed in terror. Heartbreaking reports of over 20 deaths due to cardiac arrest emerged within minutes. Those who survived the initial shock tried desperately to decipher the glowing script on their screens.

A reporter, covering the bizarre occurrence live, spoke shakily into the microphone. "I—I won't lie, I was one of those trying to read ahead. But nothing prepared me for what came next."

As if on cue, the voice returned, its chilling tone cutting through the pandemonium.

"Of the planet BB+3658, named Earth by its inhabitants, 10 have been chosen and set as standard.Of the four other worlds you will face in this Trial, they are as follows:

1. BA-6945, known as Synops—an ambitious world that thrives on strategy and intellect similar to your but its deception lies deep.

2. CSS+132, known as Anam—the strongest of the competing worlds, of all the souls chosen only a select few can rival that of the weakest of anams while only the captain of each race is able to barely match up to the leader of anam. [Due to their overwhelming power their flaw will still be retained]

3. SD-364 alom, the weakest of the five, where survival is an instinct, not a choice, but by no means is this world weak after all what they lack in strength they make up in technique.

4. AB+12, infamously named Trams—a world that embodies chaos and destruction and the one i think will win"

The ancient voice allowed its proclamation to settle. Then, with an unnerving finality, it continued, "You have been chosen for Trial #351. By my decree, I, Veles, declare the commencement of the Sacred Trial."

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. The air was heavy with dread as the words echoed across the planet. The people of Earth, who had once believed they were the masters of their own fate, now felt insignificant—mere pawns in a game played by incomprehensible forces.

The video paused, cutting back to the reporter, who looked pale but determined. "As you can imagine, this announcement has caused widespread panic and confusion. Experts around the world are scrambling to make sense of the situation. Governments are on high alert, and some nations have declared martial law to maintain order. The disappearance of the 10 individuals is believed to be directly linked to this event, as they may be among the 'chosen' mentioned by Veles. We are yet to confirm their identities or their locations."

The reporter glanced nervously at the sky, as if half-expecting another announcement. "The mention of other worlds—Synops, Anam, Trams, and alom—has raised questions about humanity's place in the universe. Are we truly alone? If these other worlds exist, what kind of civilizations inhabit them? And perhaps the most terrifying question of all: what does this Trial entail?"

The video shifted back to the event's recording, where Veles's voice thundered once more.

"The chosen from each world will compete in challenges of strength, intellect, and will. These trials are not for the faint of heart. Those who falter will face eternal oblivion, ttheir wills erased from existence forever the slaves of the victor. To the victors: glory, survival, and dominion over the fallen. Prepare yourselves, for the Trials begin in three Earth days."

The screen faded to black, leaving behind an eerie silence. Across the planet, humanity braced itself for the unknown. Some turned to religion, praying for salvation. Others prepared for the worst, stocking up on supplies and fortifying their homes. The chosen ten—wherever they were—would soon find themselves thrust into an unimaginable ordeal, their fates intertwined with the survival of Earth itself.

As the broadcast ended, the reporter's voice quivered with a mix of fear and resolve. "We are standing on the brink of an event that will define the future of our world. Whether we survive or perish, one thing is certain: life as we know it will never be the same again."

In the days that followed, humanity watched the skies, waiting for the next message from Veles. But no answers came, only silence—and the oppressive weight of an impending trial that could reshape the destiny of the planet.
